And what about devices that don't show second screen... anywhere...
Thank you for sharing !, carrier locked should be illegal.
I really wish carrier lock wasnt a thing in this day and age. The worst part is for devices that could allow modded firmware like Pixel. I have an older pixel that would be perfect for LineageOS, but b/c the device is carrier locked, I cannot install the firmware.
Thank you so much this is exactly what it was
You are quite welcome, I hope that this helped you.
Hi.. are you still reading this message? If so, can you test this device to run adb fastboot and use it to connect to android?
I am thinking to buy this . If it supports .. I will use it as an alternative to PC , Compact .. for android mooding .. if it can connect
I can try and figure that out. Honestly, I do not do much with this anymore. It peaked for me when I got the mp3 player to work. if you use a consol only device it could be good, but remembering the keyboard commands/shortcuts was a bit too much.
(translated with google translate)
My carrier unlocked a35 doesnt get 5guw on visible+. But my wife's factory unlocked a35 gets 5guw on visibile +. Why is that?
Green light is on, nothing on tv
if the green light is on and you have no signal to tv, you might check the HDMI cable or input is set correctly on tv. make sure on both ends the HDMI is securely in its slot
I just got one from work from the scrap bin and im gonna use it for obd scanning cars and tunning. Just something I can leave in the car and not worry about.
I have loaded Fedora Linux on mine and upgraded to 32gb ram. fantastic idea for the OBD scanning. My previous company used one (that I found for them) to run a dyno program to certify speedometers on LEO vehicles.
do you put the pins back in place or take them out?
@@dannamiz back in place
I put them back in place. If you are attempting this, please be very careful and do not use a metal spludger as I did. Best practice would be to disconnect the battery before proceeding.
Good video bro. I would be interested to see how the band videos came out.
I need to upload some. Longest I have is 3 minutes which is the default if you aren't live streaming. Still had ove 60% battery after all that too!
@@ReviewsforNerds That's amazing considering the space in which the battery and all the electronics exist.
(translated with google translate)
if youwant to amke a good application you need a graphical screen device driver for it
There are some on the discord who have been working on a GUI and there is even a port of a basic PalmOS I tested on the Beepy. I have just not had the time or energy to reach back in on this project.
Thanks for this 🫶
Out of every phone I've had, the Ph-1 had the BEST design, imo. The ceramic and titanium made it actually FEEL like a premium device. It was hefty, in a good way. I really wish the company had done better. I wanted them to succeed. I still play with mine. I think I'll play with this OS.
"The PH-1 was an outstanding device, and it's unfortunate that the company faced so many challenges. I hope that devices like the Nothing Phone and LightPhone 3 (both yet to be reviewed) will offer users a wider range of options to meet their needs and preferences. Thank you for watching!"
how long will this phone last, i've had my n20 for about 18months and i'm worried about updates but i like the phone. how long do you think this phone is safe and secure to use, ie when will it not get the appropriate updates to keep it usable? Thanks for the video as well
My mother is using the n20. While it doesn't have OS updates, it will continue to have security updates from Google for a bit. I would say you're safe until the security updates stop.
Klee-ay. Clié
Thank you.
Excellent rundown. I still miss my Palm Treo for its usability which was miles ahead of the "smart" pones of today. Ya, the big glass touch screens of today are great for entertainment etc but unlike the Palm display, I can't use them even in partial sunlight, with my gloves in cold weather or in the dark with physical buttons that my fingers know. There is a major issue with tactile buttons not being available any more and some smart phone company should address this. Today's 'smart" phones are a huge step backward with more emphasis on glitz than usability.
I agree. There is something to be said for the compactness of a device and its ability to be used in multiple environments.
Which Windows Version is this? Like 1511 or 17 something
Honestly, not even sure. I ended up selling that phone and regret it.
2016 (new) Nintendo 3DS XL
I am more confused than ever after watching your video. I have a phone going on 5 years that crashed a few weeks ago. Because of all the tech updates, and a limited budget, I have prepaid. No matter what carrier you have, when going into brick and mortar stores, they treat you like you are useless. I can't tell you the disrespect. I reach out to my carrier and get the runaround. They try and convince you to upgrade. If you have a family plan you get great discounts; however, if you have a single plan, you pay 3 times as much. I am on a fixed income as a senior, so they talk to you like you are a moron. Phones are either super budget useless tin-can type devices, or you have to sell your first grandchild in order to be able to afford the newest phones! There are never any mid-level phones available. I have ATT and this service works for me, as I live in a basement apartment in senior housing. I first discovered the A54, bur that was eliminated. I then found the A35 Samsung Galaxy phone that is $399 through ATT, but $299 as an unlocked device on Amazon. The A35 was offered as a prepaid option a few months ago, but it is no longer offered as a prepaid option. It is only offered through ATT postpaid service. It truly has been a nightmare. I can't deplete my finances to purchase an unlocked phone, only to find out I can't get it to work. Did I mention that not only did my phone die, but my car died too?! Any suggestions would be a huge help. I am really desperate for an upgraded mid-level phone and soon. Thank you.
That is a tough one for sure. 1. As a former employee of your carrier, I can tell you that you just have to find the right person to talk to. Not everyone is going to talk down to you. With that being said, the reps have zero wiggle room on pricing and are under a lot of pressure to get new activations and sell accessories and other services. As far as phones on a budget, if you are unhappy with the selection at AT&T you can pick up used Verizon phones which will work fine on the network, you will just be dependent on Verizon for any possible updates. You might look at used, factory unlocked Pixels. The Pixel 6a, which is still a great phone and is currently sitting on my desk with my #mintmobile sim, is now scheduled to continue to get updates from google for a few more years. Purchasing from sites like eBay also offer buyer protection. Between that and finding a seller with free returns, finding an unlocked device should be easy. Make sure to find factory unlocked and not carrier unlocked as this will give you more options down the road for alternative operating systems (LineageOS) and help stretch your dollar even further by allowing you to use the phone well past the manufacturers update cycle. As for devices you can install LineageOS on, I would steer away from Samsung as they have a physical (KNOX) fuse that will trip if you install anything other than their flavor of Android. I hope this helps.
That is so cool
They seem to have quite a few on the lot in my town. While not a fan of the aesthetic, I can see why some like it. The interior looks nice.
Do you seriously need Outlook to check e-mails? Outlook is a typical Microsoft programm. You got open source Linux programms for that or you can just login to your e-mail account via browser. The very first question is: WHY do you want to use phone with Linux? And that should answer to your problems with "outlook" etc.
Thanks
You are quite welcome. Thank you for watching and I hope this helped you.
Ive watched countless videos on how to fix my switch for the past two years! This was the only video that helped me!! Thank u so much! U are a God sent 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
That is awesome to hear and thank you for watching. This has been one of my most popular videos and I almost didn't publish it.
How long does the battery last?
I am not sure. I really do not get much of a chance to play it, but I havent used it in months and it still powers on.
Can you tell me the size and type of screwdriver you used to remove the screws please? Thank you
I am unsure of the screwdriver size but the bit came from a kit like this amzn.to/3AWEIPo
@ReviewsforNerds thank you friend 😀👍
That looks like my 3ds lol
i had two of these only bad thing was the touchscreen after time goes bad
I really enjoy playing with older tech like this. Thankfully I have not had any issues with the touchscreen. I was thinking I could take apart a broken one to see if I could adapt the display to work with raspberry pi but the resolution might be an issue.
Great video I was able to flash android 14.The only problem I'm having is anytime I try to sign into google it crashes, any tips> Thanks
Thank you. Unsure. you might try to reset the phone and try again. I think Thai is working on android 15 for the duo as well.
@@ReviewsforNerds After rebooting it works fine now. Thanks
Yoo I know it's been a while since this video but would you suggest that I get the Z flip 6 as a college student? I can get it for about 950 dollars in my country with a student discount while an s24 Ultra is closer to 1200. I'm just concerned about the long term durability.
if it makes sense to have a foldable, I would say go for it. My wife is still using her zflip3 and constantly drops it on the floor. I dropped my zflip3 as well. I ALWAYS use cases as you can see in the video, and I recommend them. There are those who go without cases and I haven't seen too many people break them. I would check out my other video on the warranty repair process which might be a bit different in your country.
Had the same expeiriencce on my Zflip 5 the ribbon on the left part of the hinge was peeling and causeing the screen to have a green line and malfunction. But they told me I should provide a box so I did. They picked it up for free, fixed it, and delivered all at no cost since getting the phone when it was still at launch they included a free one year samsung care+ (that I didn't know about) mind youI I had it sent at during the first week of October and the warranty expires at October 30 😂They even replaced the dent I have on the hinge all for free
That is an awesome story. thank you for sharing. I think my only real big issue in the whole situation was the miscommunication between Samsung and UPS. They did a fine job of repairing the phone and even sent back another sim card tray even after telling me to keep mine.
So what was the purpose of them telling you to go to ubreakifix if you're going to ship it anyway?
That was what I was wondering. I think ubreakifix was just out of parts or didnt have them in stock and Samsung didn't know that.
Dang, I can't believe that thing already is messing up.
I would assume it was just a defect in the hinge. My wife's zflip3 is still kicking and she drops that thing every other day.
@@ReviewsforNerds LMAO. I guess you know what you need to do then to preserve yours.
Hey, get the Ryan Reynolds money!
Hoping folks take advantage of the offer. No difference in price for consumers and helps the channel a lot!
I didn't have a bent pin, but I did go classic NES na blew in the connectors..... and now it's working. 🙄 . We learn from the past!
That is awesome!
its working pretty well!
It was fun little project made from parts I've had for years. Need to get back into this stuff.
Excellent video, thanks This command not working for me, I have a Duo 1, bought from Microsoft so not tied to a carrier: ./fastboot delete-logical-partition system_ext_a Deleting 'system_ext_a' FAILED (remote: 'unknown command') fastboot: error: Command failed Thoughts? I have OEM unlocking on
are you using the command prompt or PowerShell to run the commands? Other than that I am unsure. A quick google search says it could be something with the version of Platform tools.
I dropped my 1st one. Bought a second one. Still going strong. Hope they keep making budget friendly phones.
Mine just went to my mother. Something glitched out with her Pixel 6a so I swapped her. Pixel is up and running on android 15
That Matrix background!! Woah!
That is almost exactly how I had my Moto Q9 set up back in the day. I also had like 3 spare batteries on me.
Me vendría bien probar algunas aplicaciones nuevas.

I am a recent convert to Palm handhelds having bought a Zire Z22 for games etc. My only gripe is the screen is quite small so am looking at either at or T5 as my next step. If I can use it for games, music and maybe a few videos I'd be very happy.
I have my TX on my desk and have been playing a few games. It is a lot of fun. I want to get a book reader and some epubs to re-read Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy like I originally did.
@@jimsmith9056 I've got the Z22 as well. Now I found a Tungsten E2 and I can Sync with Palm Desktop via Bluetooth.
I'm dealing with this! Even my best phone cord won't help. Its battery died while at 48%. I kept restarting it. 😅 It worked on the dock for one day, then the flashing lights started. Horror story! So many hours on that console
hopefully there is a fix. Could be the battery itself or it could be something to do with charge circuitry.
@@ReviewsforNerds hi hi! After experimenting I found it's the actual dock. Something to do with the charge port on the dock? Thank you for being so awesome!
Ya it doesn't work well at all, stunned
Part of that has to do with my chicken scratch handwriting.
