I personally like to try to play all premade Sims (only the mai hood and university townies, I never add bluewater village or downtown andignore the vaccation townies) of a neighbourhood before restarting bc I DON`T KNOW WHY but I feel sad when I leave them out bc I feel like "hey the´re here from the beginning too and deserve some love and attention". Obviously I don´t include and play all townies at the same time haha. But fir this way of playing it´s just too many townies. at least the university worlds have too many townies imo XD. I've already made almost the entire townie pool playable, the problem is that I discovered that it's an odd number and there were about 3 left, sad when I realize that the townies were actually generated by the game's code, in an alternate universe it may be that several famous townies would never have existed, well, one thing that happened in a long-time save was that a teenage townie witnessed two sims doing woohoo in public, now she's the girlfriend of the fruit of that public woohoo she witnessed, once a sim wanted to date a townie, I thought it was strange that they knew each other, then I went to look at the memories and remembered that he met her when she was a newborn

Such an insightful video! Townies always give me headaches in my hoods :) I have a question for you, since you thought so carefully about townies. If you were to start a new custom hood, would you create townies as single individuals (so that you can make up their storyline later), or would you sort them in families from the start? I wonder if having to change genetics in SimPE to make genetics consistent is more of a hassle than creating townie families from the start… What do you think?

6:30 Small world! In my Veronaville Kent Capp got with Victor Lillard as well, they're likely going to adopt next round. Currently, I'm playing Veronaville, which pretty much requires townie blood to keep from getting interrelated immediately. I also want the feud to continue for a while longer, so no Capps or Montys outside of Romeo and Juliette can get together. Something like that is once in a generation. A lot of the time townies will enter the rotation if they've got a good enough connection to a playable sim. For example, Carla McMcullough, an adult townie, started autonomously fighting Consort Capp on community lots, and so I reasoned that Antonio Monty, who saw this happening frequently, would be attracted to her based on that. He'd want to date someone who was as invested in the feud as his family. Carla is a fortune sim who was unemployed, so I thought maybe Consort and the Capps felt threatened by her attitude, and blackballed her from business, so she wants to stick it to them. What better way to do that than marry into their rival's family and start undermining them there? Another example is Chris Cho. She's a teenager at the start. Benedick, who is super nice, noticed that Chris kept getting antagonized by the other teenagers, so he stood up for her and felt a need to protect her. I assumed because she was very shy and lazy that she doesn't really talk much, so the other teenagers easily make fun of her and she's very weak-willed. Beatrice autonomously started bullying her as well, which I assume began because she knew Chris wouldn't fight or antagonize anyone, even Capps, which would be unacceptable for a future heiress to the Monty name. By now they're actually enemies, and Benedick really, really just wishes his sister would leave his wife alone.

I can honestly well imagine that Cassandra was supposed to be the heir and Alexander was an accident given their big age gap. I could imagine that there is some sort of condition that she has to get married and keep her last name to inherit the mansion and fortune.

Somehow Ashley became my favorite sim recently In my game he moved into the apartment complex and became enemies with each and every neighbor within four days😆

I hope Jason will be happy with Ashley, but I think Ashley will cheat the moment he finds somebody he thinks is better.

There's a mod that makes it so that Sims with the Hopeless Romantic Trait (from another mod, the 3t2 Traits Project) who have the Romance Aspiration won't roll wants about cheating- i really hope we can get more mods like that in the future to distinguish different flavors of the same aspiration. It would make wants-based game play wayyyyy better

I've just finished watching this series (all that is available to date), came back to start all over because I loved it! You inspired me to do something similar, but with Desiderata Valley, adding Bluewater Village and Sim State University, I'm playing it currently. Thank you very much for this idea! As for this episode: I think Cassandra just saw first good looking man in her adulthood and said:" this is my destiny! I want it!" And Don just said "yes" more as a joke, he never really believed, that it would actually lead him to the altar.

I put Jodie and Malcolm together once because I thought their personalities were a perfect match! The resulting children were so ugly, I swore never again. You really lucked out with Queenie 😂

What happened with Darren's money: If a sim from another sub-hood moves in, they only bring cash due to a bug. There is a fix mod called "Move-in assets fixed and improved" by Lamare.

Funny thing. I just started playing Riverblossom Hills. This time I had some interesting outcomes. Leod hired Rose Greenman to help with his farm store. They fell in love and she left Jason for Leod. Leod convinced her to drink the potion to not be a plant Sim anymore. These two have plant vibes that connect them. Meanwhile, Jason and little Daisy moved in with his brother. Both Daisy and Gabe’s daughter could relate to each other since their Moms abandoned them. I like how this version is evolving.

Very nice video! You especially did a very good job at debunking the ”Cleo and Patricia are parodies of the Caliente sisters” theory. They have a lot more in common with the elder ladies, yes. That being said, I don’t think anyone except the Roths (and the Cordials in Belladonna Cove) are supposed to be parodies of Pleasantview Sims, unless I find a first hand source. If all of them were supposed to be parodies, Maxis would probably make it more obvious (like with the Roths and the Cordials, where they just throw in hints everywhere). I think it’s more likely that Pleasantview fans just accuse any Sim who has any similarity to a Pleasantview character for being a Pleasantview ”copy” or ”parody”. A normal family with one child? They must be the Burbs! Appearently, both the Greenmans and the Aspirs and the Rileys are Burb parodies according to the community. A dark man with glasses? He’s a parody of Darren Dreamer! Two women who live together? The Caliente sisters! And if it is a family that don’t resamble a Pleasantview family? Then it must be a reverse parody! Pleasantview has a good story, but the characters are pretty ordinary people, so we can always find some similarities between them and anyone if we try hard enough. Maybe they were inspired by Pleasantview characters sometimes, but parodies/copies? Nah. I always love character analyses though, and this video was still very interesting :)

It is interesting to hear different options. When I found wants based letsplays, I started to follow every aspect and soon I became overwhelmed and felt bad not following all the rules. Im still using wants based but with more of my own feeling about individual sims and I feel much more entertained by the game. Exactly as you mentioned - you should play the playstyle you enjoy in the first place 👏🏻 I dont think wants based is bad playstyle, but if you just follow the same generic wants for every sim, it just does not make any sense.

Interesting analysis! I always thought of the Greenman family as the locals' version of the Summerdreams, but the parallel with the Burbs really fits better. Just recently, I was reminiscing about Riverblossom Hills and thought it would be nice to set up Sandra and Leod. That might work out better than Don and Cassandra, Sandra and Jacob, or Sandra and David Ottomas. And I've always pictured Jacob and Jules as the locals' Anne and Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables. She rejected him, but they are friends again and may secretly want to rekindle their relationship... Well, this makes me want to play again. Thanks for the video!
