Wow, I have never seen a layout like this, well don my friend, it is magnificent, best ever.
No class 37s?
Layout of a lifetime , quite epic , a Labour of love. Well done.
Ce magnifique réseau de haute technicité, qui prit tant d'années à être conçu, nous donne carrément le vertige ! 😲👍
You’ve used that awful term “plug socket” in your otherwise great video. Please don’t. There are plugs and there are sockets - there’s no such thing as a plug socket. Use mains outlet or mains socket; plug socket is just so cringe worthy to an electrical engineer (and model railway enthusiast)!
Excepllent video
Excellent video
Ive watched alot of railway channels in my time and yours gives me a better vibe than Pete Watermans huge layout yours is more interesting and detailed i guess???
Seriously youve only got 3k subs????....were are the enthusiasts???...awsome work who ever you are well done wondering how long it would take given no amount sparred???..coming into a bit soon and i want what you got except tsd longer hopefully!!!...spare no expense!!!..AWSOME
Ok thats a pretty feakin cool layout!!..and not cheap i guess???..how many man hrs???
Got some size in that layout 😎
Brilliant work and exceptional detail: 👍👌👏! This is 97% perfect. Just get rid of the tool panel, the train showcase and add some more (interesting?) sky. Very often, less is more.
Hi there Mark. I first watched this 2 years ago and it triggered me to start thinking about the hobby and building my first layout. 2 years on I'm completely hooked and, having also watched your other videos - particularly the 'time lapse build', my build is progressing nicely in my loft; very much inspired by your design i.e. a DC 'roundy-roundy' with through station, terminus, TMD and various storage areas underneath. Knowing the time yours took to get to this point has really helped keep my patience in check and getting into the hobby has done wonders for my general wellbeing! So, sincerest thanks for sharing your wonderful model!
Absolutely fantastic layout great inspeiration for my layout. I have by mistake purchased 12 x Cavalex Total TEA's too many for my layout. If anybody is interested let me know. Best Wishes Chris
Beyond astouding tbf you implemented my next build huge ring layout with the middle section to be the main station!!!...terific work instantly subbed!!...had too👍👍
Excellent tips but if you use INOX mp3 you do not need to clean wheels.I have been using INOX for about 40 years. The dirt ends up on the track and becomes conductive. There is some concern about traction tyre life being shortened, but I have not seen any proof of this yet.
It feels so cursed to see Mk3 DVTs with Mk2 coaches and not Mk3s but i think they would have actually done that back in the day
I think WD 40 Contact Cleaner is better that Inox cleaner because the former evaporates whereas the latter leaves a greasy film on the track and if you have gradients it may hinder the tractive effort of locos to climb those gradients. How to you clean carriage and wagon wheels.
I found WD-40 only worked for a short time. Yes tractive effort is decreased if you use INOX or similar oils, but you do not need to apply it frequently and you never need to clean wheels. I just designed my layout to have sensible gradients and run scale length steam era Australian trains.
Absolutely amazing. Music added that perfect touch. The violin...JTFC! Perfect. Thank you for sharing your awesome layout and pairing with that music. My hat is off to you, sir: Respect.
Can i have this please?
Nice to see your Layout again, I'm a bit of a Freight man 👌
Quality detail and modelling skill mate ..👍
Fantastic layout ❤
Great to see an update on your channel. I'd love to see more videos, I'd happily watch any running session. Would be great to see more frequent updates if you have the time.
Just found your channel and love the Cavalex 56s and the double header "ground shaker" impressive!
Hopefully a return of videos!
Great to have a new video, it's been a while.
Good to see you back again mate, always love to see this layout 🎉
Amazing 👍
Many thanks! 👍
@@ModelRailway You’re Welcome.
Good to see your layout back on the channel. Regards Julian.
Thanks Julian! It’s been a very busy year or so in life and every time I’ve had some time and mojo to do some recording, then something has cropped up! Hopefully a layout update video soon … Kind regards, Mark
Great to see your incredible layout again 😃👍
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed 👍
Wow your layout is out of this world!
Thanks for the compliment, glad you enjoyed! 👍
welcome back
Many thanks! It’s been a very busy year or so! Hopefully another video following sooner this time! 👍
Brilliant locos. I had one Coal Sector and one BR Blue both turn up on Friday. They are great runners and well detailed. The only bugbear is the fans which should work on DC according to the manual actually do not work with the setup included 🤔
They are lovely loco’s! I read on RMweb that others have noticed the fans not working on DC and it maybe a setup issue with ESU. I’ll keep an eye on the thread in case an update with different settings are announced. I must confess that I didn’t notice the fans not running on mine at first while running around! 👍
superb layout. enjoying the vids. superb choice of locos and stock.
Many thanks for the kind words! The WCML during the 80’s and 90’s certainly enjoyed a good variety of rakes and liveries and with the many models released in recent years, it’s great to be able to model and operate some of them … and hopefully some more videos on the way! 👍
One of the best, if not the best model railway layouts on TH-cam! Well done excellent
Many thanks for the lovely compliment! 👍
This one and Dean Park.
nice
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Hi the word awesome doesnt quite cover it enough, blown away by not only the work but great planning etc.! Did you need planning permission for the build in the end please,i.know there are local variations but with low height im told half your garden size is approx limit🤔Any tips, thoughts etc appreciated...
Many thanks for the lovely message. Have you seen the construction history time lapse video as well? I did check with the local planners and received confirmation all was ok and yes, height and consideration of neighbours is something they have certain rules and guidance for. Top tip is to speak to your local planners and also a decent builder … and yes, good planning and taking your time I’ve found has really helped! Good luck with your own project 👍
Absolutley fantastic - what a project! Amazing!
Many thanks for the lovely compliment, glad you enjoyed! 👍
That big grey suspension bridge in the back ground is a structure that Brunnel would be proud of.
Many thanks! I can remember a holiday to Cornwall during 1985 and crossing Brunel’s Royal Albert Bridge and have always been fascinated by it since then; such an amazing structure. So well spotted, my own bridge is the Hornby suspension modified a bit and spray painted a similar colour as a nod to Brunel. 👍
After my jaw hit the floor looking at this amazing layout, wondering if you any idea how many hours it took to construct and approx cost ?
Many thanks for the lovely compliment! As for time … good question! Time per week has varied over time due to other things in life and mojo etc, so no idea! It has been a project over approx 17 years to date though! As for cost … well, the shed and contents are insured and have some security measures! 👍
Wow! What a superb layout and a really enjoyable video.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the lovely message 👍
Wow ur a true artist looks so real life ❤
Many thanks for the lovely compliment 👍
What is the size (length x breadth) of this layout.
Thanks for the message, the layout is approx 8m by 4.5m (25ft by 13ft) … hope that helps 👍
Looks awesome 👌
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed 👍
I saw you at Making Tracks 3 yesterday 🙂 Im one of the volunteers there this year ...
Well spotted! I did manage to attend … very impressed! Also good to catch-up with Dave and co … great teamwork behind the scenes and hope you’ve been enjoying operating and volunteering! I did notice a few double-headed Class 90’s on show! 😜 Say hi next time (although it looked like you were all busy with operating, helping the kids operate and making sure no stray arms caused any derailments!) … I’m planning to attend GETS to see the layout as well! Mark 👍
I saw you, and the next minute, you'd gone, I was about to say you were one of the few people lucky enough to have their own making tracks layout, Kat 😊
@@johnson_street_IEMD Hopefully speak next time! It was pretty busy but enjoyable … and yeah! A mini making tracks in the shed I guess … really need to get cracking soon doing a layout update and running session video! 👍
@ModelRailway yeah no worries 👍 happy modelling !!!! Kind regards Kat - Johnson Street IEMD 😀
That's amazing. Could I ask if the brick viaducts were scratch built or did you use a kit. They look superb
Many thanks for the comment and compliment! Sure, the brick viaducts are Metcalfe card kits. I cut the height to size, as well as widening some of them and cutting the back (to allow the viaduct to be curved) … hope that helps! 👍
Just watched again it’s magical
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed! 👍
How come you suddenly stopped doing updates??
Apologies! it’s been a busy and challenging few months … every time I’ve gone to start recording some clips something has cropped up or get in the way! Hopefully things a bit calmer again … so it’s on the to do list to start recording! 👍
Wow this is a stunning layout with all that work over what 18yrs fantastic work, I’m just about to startt this process on a much smaller area only have 20x10ft but your layout has given me many ideas ,I’ve subscribed to your channel so I can see how much further your layout develops, Keep it up AC
Many thanks for the lovely comment! Good luck progressing your layout … 20ft by 10ft still a good size area! Kind regards, Mark
