Have To Experience The Crap To Appreciate The Good
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
A typical week of ups and downs owning a business. My motto is you have to experience the bad days to appreciate the good days. However a lot of the issues are easily avoidable which gets me frustrated and angry. We continue progress on the yard and the extension job while Ben is flying on the student job As the owner I’m experiencing chest pains through anxiety and fatigue as I try to deal wit...
A Rare Day On The Yard
มุมมอง 5524 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Saturdays are the best day to work on the yard as we only have a few staff in and can not be distracted by the daily troubles that arise on the other jobs. We glue down the EPDM rubber roof membrane to the trailers ready for new trims.
One Day This Mess Will Be Yours
มุมมอง 4364 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
I take my son to the yard to measure up the trailer for a new kitchen and to get signage on the new tools!
Lessons Learnt @welderfabber
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
I switch from daily to weekly episodes to try and catch up on editing! It’s hard to keep the content down as I feel we do so much each day across the different jobs and the yard. I pick the mini digger back up from Baz at Welderfabber and it’s put straight back to work on the yard!
Running On Empty
มุมมอง 1.1Kวันที่ผ่านมา
We make use of the hired in JCB digger whilst my digger is being fixed by Welderfabber. 15 staff strong today so I’m making sure everyone has what they need to get the most productive end to the week! Will we reach lintel height on the extension job and get paid? The progress continues on the yard trench however I hit a difficult spot that takes its toll on my patience
Business Roulette
มุมมอง 964วันที่ผ่านมา
Gambling this week that jobs will go well and we will get paid the next milestones otherwise I’m screwed!
Did Someone Run Out Of Paint?
มุมมอง 1.3K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Why would someone get up at 5am to spray this on the new gates to the yard, next door to a kids adventure playground… Work carries on as I pick up my new pan mixer that’s arrived from China! Mick is blocking the extension job and the front roof is being built on the student job Overwhelmed paralysis hits as I stand there looking at what needs doing on the yard
I Know A Guy! @welderfabber
มุมมอง 2.1K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
When the digger breaks down in the middle of digging the trench for ducting, I was stuck on who to call. Baz is used to working on massive machines, would he take on my mini digger?
NICEIC Annual Assessment
มุมมอง 1.2K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
As part of being a NICEIC registered electrician, every year I’m assessed by their governing body to make sure we are following their standards. Everything was going well until I heard a massive bang and seen my van swaying side to side…
Sunday Surprise 🤨
มุมมอง 1K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
This wasn’t even meant to be an episode. I only went the yard to show my mum what we had been doing and to measure the trailers for kitchens! Unfortunately there’s some childish people who are taking it upon themselves to try and ruin what we are doing
Who Can Fix The Digger
มุมมอง 1.5K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Saturdays are a chance to get bits done on the yard without the stress of the other jobs occupying my time. We insulate the the office trailer and try to dig the trench for ducting but I didn’t realise how bad the digger was cracked!
Tough Day
มุมมอง 1.4K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
I start this day with hearing the unfortunate news that simmo has passed away. At first I thought that I would have to organise his funeral for him. But all his family have come together and have with the help of everyone’s donations I think simmo will have the send off he deserves. So thank you to everyone who has donated! And thank you to simmos family who have organised everything, I am look...

Hi mate my mum lives not far from your yard in Garston and I can come do like the painting ans every on the trailers 1 or 2 days a week and once everything is done I could manage the yard and make sure everything is where it meant to be just let me know mate am happy to help

Very interesting Andy I think your taking too much on slow down & good luck 🍀👍
Stop telling people about your scrap.. someone else will end up weighing it in for you..🤫
Mate that was a massive upload thank you for taking the time
Andy you really need to slow down in your thinking. I see the stress in your face and in your speech. I know this will not be at all easy for you but if you dont it will show up in your long term health history when you look back. If you can take a break mate.
@@robreeves279 we are waiting for the house to sell to take a holiday. Long overdue
With the engine I think you could just swap it to a petrol Honda gx390 which would be a bit quieter with a genuine exhaust and that’s 13hp n think it’s a gx620 which is a 2 cylinder which might just fit which is like 20hp but might be a bit overkill but they’re both petrol so if you run out of fuel, it’s just put fresh in and go with no need to mess about
@@BenEyah I’ll have a look at these but not sure if I should just run this one into the ground then upgrade or could even try electric!
@ only thing with electric is once it’s dead, that’s it until it’s charged for some hours at least with actual fuel you can keep going and the other bum thing with batteries, they’re expensive ‘cause they don’t use normal lead acid batteries, they use lithium packs and they’re very expensive to replace compared to a new machine
Hi Andy, all i can find about slow-moving vehicles sign is, Mandatory Use: Any goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes and trailers over this weight must have rear markings applied according to the legal standards. Purpose: These markings are essential for ensuring that other road users can easily identify slow-moving or stationary vehicles, reducing the risk of rear-end collisions. hope this helps
Fit a Bradley Doublelock HU12 Coupling Reverse Stop Catch Assembly or just bend a piece of metal over the trailer ram to stop it closing.
@@imiles5548 will have a look at these but hopefully now it’s on the yard won’t get moved as much
I’ve got a mavic drone n its amazing, had it out bonfire night n got some quite good footage but had it about 800m away and the video quality coming back to the phone is still clear as day at the 1080p but it records on the drone in 4K but wanting to sell it to put towards a phantom ‘cause the camera options for those are unreal, there’s a camera that’s got a 160x zoom on it so to get those good shots you can be quite a way away as if you’re right next to it but that camera alone is like £900 used
@@BenEyah not cheap are they. I’ve had mine for like 14years 🤣 due an upgrade
@ this was my first and it’s mental how easy they are fly and when you stick it in sport mode how fast it goes, 40mph!! I’m only asking £230 for mine n that comes with nd filters, 3 batteries, phone holder and a hard case and obviously controller and charger but get about 30 mins a battery of constant flying time in not sport mode but it’s amazing how different stuff looks from 400ft above, makes them rough places actually look nice lol it will go higher like but legally that’s maximum height
@@BenEyah can you email the details and any pics 👍 andrew@ajowens.co.uk
@@BenEyah although I crash mine enough in slow mode never mind sport mode 😂
@@BowdenBuilders that sport mode only ever goes on when it’s over an empty field for me, done trust myself anywhere else ‘cause it turns all the sensors off for obstacle avoidance so you can crash it but when it’s in normal mode you can’t crash going forward or drop down onto something unless it’s wires but don’t know how these people can fly them at full speed and not crash, especially those that do flips and fly in and out of stuff at 30-40mph and not hit a single thing, I still have my moments where I want to go forward but go up instead ‘cause I’ve used the wrong joystick like a retard
With the ramp thing, would you not be able to use that porous concrete mix that lets water drain through it? Surely that would suffice for drainage and air if it’s letting water through but still be strong enough to drive on and safer to walk on instead of a cattle grid and look nicer to those outside
@@BenEyah I asked that and they said the tarmac and concrete versions only last for a few weeks/months and then they get clogged with dust/dirt and are not longer porous
With weeds it’s best to spray them when it’s dry for a few days and spray the leaves so it absorbs a lot more and kills it faster. Think it’s gallup what I’ve used, killed a bush plant thing in 2 days and brambles in about a week
I find the content very interesting. I could not sleep at night juggling all youre jobs.
