I have this set, and done many videos on them, the only thing I don't like is sometimes you see a vertical artefact flare. Just something to be aware of, I see it most in the 45mm.

I liked the movie. The dog was a good actor. I was also surprised that the audio was good. I expected it wouldn't sound good because you didn't use a lav mic on the actress but it was fine.

Some good points specifically how you discussed that "cinematic" is misunderstood to be about anamorphic lens looks. First off, cinematic is a whole host of components and the cinematography is almost the easiest to achieve in small bursts at this point. Try writing a script, staging good actors and making it look professional and interesting for 90 minutes. There is something truly cinematic. Also, most won't argue Roger Deakins films don't look cinematic and they are all spherical. That being said, I have written or directed about 20 feature films and only did one in anamorphic format (actually shot two pick up shots with an old helios and fit right in) so bought the Remus A set (just about to buy the B set) to shoot some small 100K features on that I want to use the look of these lenses on. But, I know even if I choose to go non anamorphic on the next one, it will also be "cinematic" in presentation as lighting and story and locations and many other components are the real test. I get there are a lot of people out there that just want to run around and shoot little shorts of nature and people that look cool set to music and I say it's great if these lenses gives them that pleasure and they can afford them for that. So far they have been the only sub $1500 lenses that I have been ready to go in on and I will soon own 7 of them. Great coverage on them though. Last, get those blue flares now if you want them as will be discontinued in 2024. I got silver which tends to shift with your light source and I like that flexibility.

This became my favourite filter because of this video, but let me tell you, they ceased the production of this filter. ): I bought the last one from b&h and they emailed me saying the producer discontinued it.

I want to love these lens but I just can’t take them serious in the film world these lens are soft as hell

As an owner of the Lumix S5, I love everything about this video. The exposure, the sound, the color. I might be in the minority though in that i enjoyed it more in 1080p. The softness matched the emotion. Thank you for the wonderful glimpse.

Ich hab ein oval bokeh filter hinter die Blende meines Sirui's eingebaut. Das funzt ganz gut mit dem bokeh. Es gibt sehr viele "elitäre" menschen die behaupten 1.33x ist nicht anamorph dabei wurde Hateful eight mit 1.25x gedreht und Jo Jo Rabbit wurde mit 1.33x gedreht. Greg Fraser testete zuletzt die neue Ursa cine mit den Viltrox 1.33x anamorphics. 1.5x ist glaub ich ein anständiger faktor. Viel spaß damit.

The lack of a touch screen makes this camera a lot less desirable on the second hand market compared to later models and therefore much cheaper.

Would be nice to see those filters without grading, or is the highlight completely blue.

Find these video's interesting. As the TH-camr talks about film making yet thier video's is just them talking to the camera in 90% of video's they post. Would assume film makers make short films and show that instead of just talking to the camera

I sold my Lumix s5II, basically, the normal profiles were unusable, and the overall image (even in V-log was wayyy oversharp). Also, it lacks detail, its like they put a strong denoiser, and even with noise reduction on zero, it kills the detail. And by the way, it has a problem with the sound, if you use it an external microphone, the camera produces a digital noise impossible to fix in post. Then skin tones...are bad, very bad. And its a pity, because all the rest is great. Amazing autofocus, easy menu, lots of options for configuring the camera, great handling

Great video. It looks like the soft fx3 is great if you wanted to recreate those cheesy 70s movies, where they went a but crazy with the vaseline.

I agree, the S5 is fantastic, it has better image quality than the S5II (but worse IBIS and AF). However it's not because of the PDAF, because the external BRAW has excellent image quality. And no you can't really improve the internal video quality because the very bad sharpening really impact the fine details, the sharpening used on the S5II is much worse than regular sharpening of the S5 or the sharpening we use in Lightroom.

I had the S5 and sold it and got an A7Siii then sold that and got the BMPCC6K Pro. I then sold that and got an S5 ii and now I'm going to get another S5 as an A cam.

The forced sharpness (you can't chose to turn it all off anymore) on the new mark II is also what gives more noise. It's a definite step down unless afflicted by the epidemic of autofocus addiction.

After updating firmware[S5___V27.bin] on my S5 ..I feel auto focus preform little better

The Lumix Menu is great. If you don't know your way around you can hold the display button and get an explanation. You also have custom menu options.

I bought Soft FX 3 for this video because i loved the look. I have a Nikon D3300 with a ⌀52mm lens and the effect is barely there, barely noticeable, I tried to do some lighting like in this video but it just looks almost the same as NO filter. What could be happening?
