I think the locking tuners that comes with the Prestiges have a flaw. If you look close at the tuners when you have the guitar in tune you will see that the tuners are tilted because of the tension of the strings. This is because there is to much play inside the tuners.. If you change the tuners for the ones that the Premium AZs comes with this is not a problem.. Also with locking tuners its important not to have any string excess wrapped around the tuner. It should be as little string at the tuner as possible.

How do i hook this up to a combo amp? I have the Marshall origin 50. I cannot find any helpful info on this.

Do you think it would work as a power amp for a bass rig? I’ve got these origin effects bass preamp pedals I love.

Hey mate! I’ve recently picked up an SNK VHD preamp pedal and a Master Effects Martyr, could I run these into the power station as a power amp?

For me, with the Shiva, it's KT88's every single time, by a mile. I can see the appeal of EL34's for other people, they have a lot of mid-range emphasis and have a kind of vocal quality to them. They're no slouches by any means. But man those KT88's just sound massive. They have much wider bandwidth and more clarity all around. How high was the master set on the Shiva, btw? Sounds like there was a lot of poweramp breakup in the clips, like you were cranking the mess out of that thing hah.

I have an original Rampage from 1985, and it's awesome! Got it back in the early 2000s at a vintage guitar store for $450. I have to say I prefer the Kahler trem, and will always be a part of the Rampage to me... Floyds just don't look "right" on this guitar. Jerry also said in an interview that he preferred the Kahler cause he puts pressure on the trem with his picking hand, and the Kahler doesn't change pitch when you do that, where as a floating trem is more susceptible to that. Also, when you bend a string on a Floyd, it affects the pitch of the other strings until the trem goes back to neutral, where as the Kahler doesn't have this issue.

Thanks for this video demo. I am with you and prefer EL34s. It's a feel and creaminess in the midst that I do not like with the KT88s. Have you tried 6CA7 tubes which supposedly blend the EL34 and 6L6 characteristics. I'm a big Cantrell fan like you and have this amp. I prefer the EL34 or 6CA7, KT88s work better in a metal band but I still miss the creamy mids when it;s time to play leads or any single note lines. Check out the Revv Generator Mark III. I love it as much, if not more than my Shiva 20th.

Great comparison. I liked the Randall power section better with the high gain tones but the Fryette was better on the cleans. Also I feel like Randall is quite a bit darker sounding.

I built my own ISO cab with an EVH Celestion inside. I’ve compared the tone to running an IR version of the EVH Celestion using Mooer Cab X2. I admit the IR is a fantastic reproduction but the recorded wave forms show much more detail being picked up with mics. Also, I can get a louder recorded tone with the ISO without clipping. Will anyone notice? No. But since when do we guitar nerds care about what others think….lol

Hi! Shea from G&L here! great video. i just want to clarify that the new guitar we have released is a completely new model with 24 frets and a Floyd Rose and not a Jerry Cantrell reissue. :) hope that helps for any watchers with questions

If they use Jerry's name to sell the new Rampages, they better not leave out that Jerry himself said he prefers the Kahler over the Floyd Rose. For me, Kramer is already the king of 80s-style Floyd Rose superstrats, so a Floyd Rose Rampage is pointless.

I love G&L and I'm a big Jerry Cantrell fan... I've played GL's since the 1990's and currently own 11 of them. That being said, I am NOT a fan of this new version of the Rampage. I think the 24 frets look really weird on this model. If G&L was going to offer 24 frets then IMO, they should have done it on the Invader model (the Jackson Soloist version). I think having a Floyd instead of the Kahler that everyone identifies with this guitar with, or even the G&L dual fulcrum tremolo is also an odd choice. These are my personal opinions YMMV, but as someone I believe would be their target consumer, I'll be passing. IMO, if they want to appeal to new players, then maybe do a baritone version or a 7 string.

I had TWO of these back in 2010/11. Both white and black. They were VERY well built and played amazing. Very articulate, hot pickups. I hope they do these new reissues justice, because the last I saw, the 2010s ones were fetching like 3x their value. EDIT: No Kahler....No thank you

Current Kahler is a very small operation. I doubt they could supply enough units for this run

In my opinion i think the new Rampage has just become like all the other Floyd Rose superstrats . They shouldn't have changed anything just released one with Cantrell's specs, this ones a hard pass for me.

I’ve been waiting to see a video like this. I have the PS-2a and have been using it as an attenuator. But have been watching the modules being developed and thinking what a handy way to have what ever sound profile you want at all times. My question is what do you need to run the modules into the PowerStation? Since the PowerStation is its own amp, it doesn’t need the Synergy or Randall amplification. What is the most cost effective way to utilize modules with a PowerStation?
