Beginner and Scrap Friendly Mini Zipper Pouch | Detailed Sewing Tutorial
Just found your channel and all your great tutorials. Thank you so much!
Awesome tutorial, thanks..!!
This was great! Followed along and made an awesome zipper pouch, thanks!
This is a great method. My only problem was, if you use a fabric that tends to fray, those little triangles can fray to nothing before you get round to sewing them.
Hello! With fabric that frays a lot, I tend to use interfacing such as SF101. I also fray check the cut corners so that they hold and don't fray:)
Thanks, I was using tweed, which iron-on interfacing will not stick to! Will use some fray check next time, as this method does give much neater results. ❤
Lovely!! Bought your pattern on Etsy! ❤❤❤
Can I do this without zipper tabs?
Hello Dania! Yes, this project can be done without tabs. You can use a continuous nylon zipper measuring 9-1/2". You will insert your pull, making sure that both ends of the zipper tape are closed. Then install your zipper following the steps starting at 6:25, except you will not have a bend or tab, your zipper will go from end to end. When sewing around at 9:48, you will sew over the zipper on both sides, making sure the teeth point in toward the lining. If you have any questions, please reply here:)
@torieandren thank you sew much! Your patterns are top notch. I'm very impressed with your business! And you!
What vinyl did you use? Will a vinyl table cloth work?
@@availblekw Hello! I used one from a local fabric shop, but you can definitely use a clear vinyl table cloth as long as it isn’t too thick. I believe my vinyl was 1mm. Hope this helps!
I have watched loads of videos of bag making and have to say you are very easy to follow. You are very clear in your instructions and are a very good teacher😊
Aside from the zipper difficulty, this is a beautiful bag and thank you for the tutorial! 💜 maybe my next round will be easier! lol
I just made this bag and to anyone who is about to make this, I’d recommend NOT trimming the excess zipper tape until after you put on your pulls. The excess tape will help you get them on. If you can start with a lil excess tape on one side, slide it on, then slide the pull up to where the next side of tape is then you can slip that side in too. I was ready to scream trying to get the zipper on. I asked my husband to help and he did it, but it was not easy!
The most genius way to install a zipper!!!
Interesting way to turn the zipper end …. May have to try it!
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day <3
Cool
Do you have a larger version of this pouch? Something that could be used as a cross body bag? That would be great with this design. TY
Hello! I don't currently have a larger version of the pouch, but that is a great idea and I may consider making one in the future!
Great instructional vid and design❤❤❤
That would be great. Thankyou
Is there a pattern for this
@@LoriJones-t8t Hello! These are a modified version of my Mini Zip Pouch so there isn’t a pattern for it. If you’d like I can write out the changes I made if you’d like to make one?
That would be great. Thankyou
@@LoriJones-t8t It's no problem at all! So the only two pieces I adjusted were the Bag Main and zipper. I changed the Bag Main from 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" to 2-1/4" x 5-1/2". I also changed the zipper to 4-3/4". Instead of adding 2 tabs to the zipper, I added 1 and curved the other end so that the pouch opened wider. You can find the original pouch tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/AV0OQLES68I/w-d-xo.html. Let me know if you have any questions!
Compre el patron pero no lo veo por ningun lado , solo me aparecen 3 pdf. que estoy haciendo mal ?
If you are one of us, addicted to kislux this show, please gather here
your fabric choices are just wonderful. 🐇🐿🦊💟
Thank you so much!🤍
I have made several of your lovely patterns . Where do you get your lovely fabric from ? Canada?
I'm so happy to hear that you've made some of them🤍 I get a lot of my fabrics in Canada from various shops, some on Etsy from Skeleton Key Supply. I also purchase fabrics from the Hawthorne Supply Co. and Portsmouth Fabric Company in the US. If you have any questions about specific fabrics I'd be happy to share where they're from!
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
What an EXCELLENT video tutorial. You are an absolute natural teacher. Thank you for sharing this. I will definitely be making this little pocket and I have subscribed to your channel. Your clean and movement manicured hands were also lovely to watch.
Thank you so much for your kind comment and welcome to the channel it's great to have you here🤍☺️
Thanks for the tutorial.
Sorry to hear about your fur baby 😢! Love you this pattern! Thank you!
Thank you❤️
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
Beautiful Lou h and great instructions.
Excellent tutorial! I bought your pattern and I will be following along! You've illustrated this at a great pace too!!
Thank you! If you have any questions along the way, feel free to send me a message or comment here☺️
Great job!!!
En el momento en que vi el bolso kislux , supe que tenía que tenerlo.
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
OMG, I have been looking for THIS tutorial for months! Thank you. I'm most nervous about getting those darn zippers on properly. Practice, practice!
Your directions were immaculate! Thank you for all those little extra stitches to make everything line up so well! Wonderful video!
Loved it and also ur good taste for fabric❤
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for sharing
Hugs about your sweet puppy. Great tutorial as always, good to see you back
Thank you❤️
I enjoy your tutorial. Thank you. Good I watch it all before starting my own, course my snaps are different... The old version.... So need to be installed before adding to the cover of the cards I'll do that. Hope I'll measure right
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I would love to hear how you find the project when you make it, I'm sure the different snaps will work perfectly☺️
Wow your video is the best!!! Thank you for your generoicety, I'll buy your pattern to support you and let you share more of your wonderful talent❤❤
Thank you so very much for your support❤️
I absolutely love your patterns and tutorials. Thank you so much. ❤
Thank you☺️ I'm so happy you're enjoying them!
I am so very sorry for your loss. I too lost my beautiful dog to cancer the day after Mother's Day. May your memories be a comfort to you.
Thank you, I'm so sorry for your loss as well. Sending you hugs and so much love❤️
Just found your channel and I am in love with it! New sub here. Ty for what you do! ❤
Welcome to the channel, it's so great to have you here☺️❤️
Not this is simply stunning! I am a new sub. Ty for making this possible for us newbs!!!we appreciate you!! ❤
Thank you! If you have any questions about the project let me know❤️
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!
I'm so glad you like them, that truly makes me so happy❤️
Great video, your explanations make this project so easy to follow 😊
Thank you, I'm so glad they were helpful☺️
If you wanted to use directional fabric, you could always cut and see together before you cut on the fold. Your fold would then be on the seam.
Hello! You definitely could add a seam to flip the direction prior to sewing☺️
Best teacher ever followed, explained so expertly. PS, the awl is pronounced all, thought you'd find that funny!!! I am so excited to make this, just watched thru , now time to jump in!
Thank you so much☺️ It's definitely funny looking back, especially because I called it an owl instead haha! You may have already made the pouch as I'm replying a few weeks later, but happy sewing I hope you enjoy sewing it❤️
Absolutely love this method and look. I knew there has to be a better way than overlays. Thank you!
I am in love with your fabrics! I am pretty new to sewing, where do you get your faux suede? I plan to make with scraps (my first attempt at anything is usually not great!) but once I have it down, would love to find such great fabrics like these! Thanks for the tutorial!
Do we need two fabric for outter or can i make it all one color?
