They do. There's no one way of implementing PCFM. There's also RCFM, which you can probably guess what that stands for - very popular now.

@@ItsYa165 cool. Just as a critical view from my end at other game devs like AP or Dovetail. Alot of game Devs make the 465 sound extra extra bassey or make the track run sounds too loud. They don't really know what a 465 sounds like to it's core. They also miss the critical part , the gear box frequencies. You dont even hear it in game. All you hear the the sync mode frequencies on the /9 then it just fades into bass territory alone they don't consider the "whooing" air rush noise either. In reality you can hear the gearbox screams a tad bit even after 60mph and to max speed on some/9s, but most importantly, you can always hear them from the outside when the train flies by, no matter the speed. In summary track noise too loud as a distraction and the bass of the motor components are too bloody harsh in game . But thanks for my Ted Talk and hopefully you will save the day for the 465/9s in future 😂 💫💫💫

Almost everything you've said is sensical. The only thing which will now hopefully make more sense for you is that a high speed train and a low speed train can actually sound the same if the gear ratio is altered by adding another gear. This is two gear ratios multiplied together! So you can get the sound similar to the Class 334 on the Class 390... plus the additional frequencies of the torque reducing gear which increases the speed range in tradeoff. You might find that a few trains around the world may do this to offer high and low speed variants of a Class or platform in an affordable fashion. And we all know Alstom used to be very cheap...

@@ItsYa165 yeah I figured as much. Given that it's all mechanical and gear sized and teeth are scaled up and down many trains will sound somewhat similar. Hence why I tend to notice that BREL 465 have similar blends of sounds as a 365/395/Talent 2s etc.(although 365s gearbox was really quiet for some reason but every train is different so theres that) and how alot of mitsubishi/hitachi gear boxes also sound similar because of their gear ratios. Would be cool to have more mitsubishi style gear boxes /or gear ratios here in the uk, at least then some units would sound like keiyku N1000s somewhat 😂it's a nice hypothetical, even the Stadlers are mainly similar in sound due to the same reasons most likely too. Side note* This is also how I sort of realised some trains are likely capable of significantly higher speeds than they are limited to at such as class 378s (probably 100mph in theory) given the gear box sounds and the occurring oscillating frequencies at a given speed relitive to other trains that have higher speed ratings (talent 2s in this case). Obvs there's a limiting factor for a reason the most obvious being no lateral dampers, and the second likely being the purpose it serves. So most of what im saying is deduced over Time and hypothetical In this case. But it seems to make sense to me. This logic can apply to other trains too (obviously) But yeah thanks for confirming, I was just curious to know why some trains sound like others.

@@ItsYa165 oh yeah the contact shoes sort of bounces or clacks when It hits the next rail. I didn't realise it does all that to the inductor recording on that scale. You learn something new everyday.

Why did they have these Motor Sounds when at Silverlink and then changed to today's standards?

@@bongman123 Something to do with the pulsing. Maybe the older pulsing of the 350 motors lead to poorer acceleration? This is actually the opposite for other desiros like the Class 444. The older pulsing of the 444 actually lead to quicker acceleration compared to the current one, and I'm not sure why myself.

@@lucastheelectrostar9176 Maybe. High frequency does increase the opportunity to create troque from the current supply, but is often unnecessary given the amount of power already available. I won't be adding the 1450Hz mode to the AC power too because the Cl350 didn't use this on AC. When it was commissioned, along with the 360s, they used 500Hz>1000Hz>3P which isn't this. There's also no demand for such a thing.

It might do, it might not. Microsoft Store products tend to be a lot more secure and difficult to modify. If you can find the same directory as listed on the download page but for the Microsoft Store / Xbox for Windows PC edition of TSW, you can try it for yourself and let me know. It's purely because the MS Store is the least popular platform for buying PC editions of TSW, whereby Steam is the most popular... followed by Epic Games. As a result, it's rarely tested and never discussed.

@@ItsYa165 yeah mate, the only reason why I got it on ms store is because I used to play on Xbox before I got my PC and I don’t want to spend over £200 reacquiring all of my DLC’s. I’ll check tomorrow and see if it works.

I might actually have cabin crew on aircon, but I'll have to see. The 350 will be available some point this week.

Unfortunately not, sorry. I don't have the knowledge or skills to make that happen. The only way you'd get this on console is if DTG got this.

You can hear the traction system over people talking because both me and Sepian have it in our recordings. Additionally, TSW NPCs don't talk so there's no reference for that whatsoever. But I've addressed the HVAC sounds with new recordings. Even with the HVAC on, you can easily hear the traction drive over it (because it's in my recordings). The difference between what you think is correct vs. what actually is correct is the difference between your opinion and the microphone.

I don't intend to release my recordings on TH-cam at this time, but go and watch Sepian's video th-cam.com/video/idA6OV4TdNY/w-d-xo.html. Somebody literally coughs and you can still hear the gearbox over that. Not only is the gearbox significantly louder than the HVAC, it's louder than the onboard announcements, louder than the crisp packets being ruffled before arriving at Rugby, it's louder than the passing train, and even at high speed you can still hear it amongst these people chatting th-cam.com/video/idA6OV4TdNY/w-d-xo.html. You've probably just not sat where the transmission is mounted, and instead sat somewhere else in the carriage or just a trailer altogether...

@@ItsYa165 no need to get grumpy lol - it might depend where you sit, but in the recording I made from carriage G you certainly cannot hear it

@@trainsimulatordriver If you were on a /0, you were just sat in an unpowered trailer and probably only heard it faintly from the next car over. I, however, used the Angel Trains website to find the right car and then my copper inductor to find exactly where stator was mounted to the chassis. I'm diligent.

Then there would be no sounds then if they all quit their jobs. There are some really great sounds in tsw though

The Class 350 sound mod is already a thing but I'm not satisfied with its run sounds after setting the bar higher with the Class 390. So it will be a while yet before it comes out.

@ItsYa165 Tired of being stuck with the quality that dtg releases and hoping that they fix it, it's long torture. The modding community always understands the details missing and I'd rather rely on the people who care about the finer details. Still enjoying the wcml, glad it is here but it's the details the complete the experience. Even though it's a short route for the 390, when a route is quality and feels alive the length of the route doesn't matter as much.

dovetail should be putting the effort in themselves to get good quality audio, especially the price they charge for stuff. Shouldn't be left to modders to do their job for them.
