Gringo, Interrupted
Hola, I'm Alfie. Due to a mid-life crisis and circumstances that have "interrupted" my normal life, I quit my job and am fortunate enough to be able to do the thing I love the most: travel. Having fallen in love with Mexico on a trip in 2019, I plan on checking out more of this amazing country and eventually heading south to the countries of Central and South America. Hence, the name "Gringo, Interrupted." Join me in my travels! I'm told I'm pretty funny and this channel will present a unique and interesting view on traveling as well as a ton of useful information and itineraries for those wishing to visit these cities. I hope you enjoy my videos as much I enjoy making them!

Beautiful, well done video but, why do you say (minute 10:17) that Chapultepec castle is "decadent"? I definitely disagree. It is well preserved. And then in 15:02 you mention that castas were created because "Everyone was banging each other in the New World" 🙄🤨. I respectfully suggest you research more about how life was here at that time, and avoid certain derogatory terms and concepts, which will make your videos more pleasant.
Are there a lot of bottoms in Zipolite? I love bottoms!!😋🍑
Hi! I went to Monte Alban a few weeks ago, and the guide said that the images depicted of the Olmec, the Danzantes, were recently explained by the fact that there was a lot of inbreeding happening and children were born deformed, missing limbs and were very short. Also what appears to be a beard on some is actually saliva dripping as they could not keep their mouths closed. Super interesting indeed !!!!
Wow, that is interesting! I’ve never read about that! Thanks for watching! ☺️
Maybe grow some hairs, lol😂
It didn’t work 😂
You could say “there are some Mexicans here”with more humbleness and more respect!! Don’t forget that you are in Mexico you are a foreigner and there will be Mexicans anywhere you go!!
You obviously haven’t watched any of my other videos if you took that statement that way. I was actually lamenting the fact there weren’t more Mexicans there. My entire channel is devoted to Mexico
Also, you must not have even finished THIS video where I talk about the significance Huatulco holds in Mexican history and President Vicente Guerrero.
This was my favorite video. I like the conclusion you shared. And I agree!! More people should think the same. That was a strong message! I’m So glad you had three angels to watch over and help you.
I want the braclet. Great video!
Thanks! 😊
OMG those Tomate tacos look amazing
They were!
I am so excited to visit in January!!! I will be solo as well. I won't be discouraged.
Awesome! Have a great trip!
This douchebag has never heard of Miami, NY and southern Cali. There are places all over the US where you can speak only Spanish.
Most definitely I am trying line 2 on my next visit.
Nice! That’s the best line in my opinion!
@ gracias!!!
xtianity killing the locals on display.
Excellent music selection for a cable car riding video! The rooftop murals were AHmazing!
Thanks! 😊
Wow! Absolutely amazing!😃
Thanks!
It was like a Russian doll of pyramids. Each pyramid covered with a layer earth so the subsequent pyramid would not crush the latter. I believe this was intentionally covered not by Mother Nature nor by conquistadors trying to hide it just to build a catholic pilgrimage site on top, but for eventually an even greater pyramidal structure to usurp it until it becomes a literal mountain that has a full network of an inhabitable city within it. Mimicking to many native people’s stories of emerging from within the earth.
You’re right! Sadly, we’ll never know what it could have been!
Minute 6:02 left bellow, there's Frida, the famous rescue dog. The famous Passion of the Christ reenactment is not on Christmas but in Easter
Oh wow, you’re right I see Frida! I can’t believe I said Christmas; of course it’s Easter! I guess I have Christmas on my mind! How did I not catch that mistake?!
@@GringoInterruptedAnd you also said David Alfaro SIQUIERO (which means "I want) 😂😂😂 es SI-QUEI-ROS, stressing the letter É. Better say it more slowly but correctly.
the cinematography is 👍
Gracias ☺️
Hey Mr, glad you're enjoying the city and discovering many facets of CDMX along with your own self discovery, certainly you put good effort in the edition, music, narration and research of this video And it notices the genuine curiosity of wanting to discover, enjoy and see new things vs those that come to Mexico claiming being "expats" but not even making an effort to learn basic Spanish along with those who just want to jump into the trend of Mexico vlogs for the sake of views and likes Enjoy Mexico and hopefully whatever troubles you will be fading away little by little and this voyage may bring happiness and a different sense and direction to your life too You deserve being happy again Eres muy simpático y agradable también! Saludos, Mexicano canadiense aquí
Thank you so much for leaving this comment! It’s always an honor to hear that Mexicans enjoy my videos! I appreciate it! Muchas gracias por tus palabras ☺️
That’s a clever and relatively cheap solution to public transportation.
You spelled “great editing and music” wrong 😑
@ 😂😂😂In the future, please also include your trip from Jersey to PHL in real time so we can savor every moment!!!!!!
Good idea! I’ll start looking for the perfect music

Gringo, You are very, very handsome.
Aw, shucks ☺️ Thank you! 😊
Ixtapalapa is not the most dangerous in CDMX.
I didn’t say “the most dangerous”. I said it has one of the highest rates of crime in the city” english.elpais.com/usa/2021-10-18/iztapalapa-how-mexico-citys-most-dangerous-borough-is-breaking-the-stigma.html
Great video! Love your channel 😊
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 😊
I was in CDMX last month and did the Cable Bus Line 3 and I absolutely loved it, even though I didn't have time to stop at any of the stations. Luckily there was no line and I could just hop on. It was comfy and felt safe even though it was a bit shaky every time it departed from the station. You did all 3 lines of Cable Bus. 👏👏👏. Thanks for sharing your experience and also for reminding that it is public transport for the locals to commute (that's why it's so cheap) , and it's not mainly aimed for tourists, so we need to be conscious and respectful. BTW your other videos had been great resources for me to prepare for my 2.5 week trip across Mexico. Keep up with the excellent work.
Awesome! I’m glad my videos helped. Thanks for watching! 😊
Like video Saludos 🇲🇽
Muchas gracias! ☺️
I gotta try this on my next Mexico City trip! I had no idea about them. Thanks for the video. There’s a pretty strong movement to get an eight mile long one built here in Austin.
Yes! Line 2 was the winner for me! Cool, more cities should have them. Sooo cool! And they’re eco-friendly.
Cool experience! If I ever go back to Mexico City, I would love to do the line over the Chapultepec Park, looks like it would be a lot more fun and safer. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thanks Lou! ☺️ And same to you and yours! 🎄🎅🎉
Thanks for the great info! We're here in Mexico City for a few months, and will definitely have to check out the Cablebus over Chapultepec Park. Even though we've only been here a few weeks, we love Mexico City already :) (forgot to mention, we subscribed lol)
Awesome! Enjoy it! Thanks for the subscribe! ☺️
Its only 8 million. the20 million include the metro area and you can really tell you are no longer in CDMX when you're in the state of mexico. Nice view tho.
Yes, that’s correct re the 20 million. At what point in this video am I in the State of Mexico? Lines 1 and 2 get close, but all in CDMX.
I wanted to tell you that this specific video really inspired my parents and I to finally make plans to visit CDMX. My parents and I had been talking about going for years to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, but finally made it happen last month. We had an amazing time, and we are so glad that we went. Thanks for creating such an inspiring video!
Oh wow, that’s awesome! I’m really flattered that my video helped inspire you and your parents to make the trip! And now you’ll always have that memory. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I really appreciate it! ☺️
Thrilling! Hi Pocho! Omg food looks amazing 👏 Thanks for dropping another great one 💕
I will send Poncho your saludos! He doesn’t like to be on camera, if you couldn’t tell! 😂 The food at that seafood place at the market was sooooo good! I dream about those Pescadillas and can’t wait to go back! Thanks for watching! ☺️
We will be in CDMX for six days starting this Friday. We will definitely take the gondola ride across the park. Thanks for the informative video and greetings from Zipolite from two Berliners/Germany ...
Awesome! Have a great time! Check out my other Mexico City videos! Thanks for watching! ☺️
check out the library too, if you're interested
We did the cable car too. The rooftop murals were really cool
That was my favorite part! Line 2 with those murals!
Alfie, we've been following you since the Zipolite video ...
Omg..well first of all Mr Gringo Interrupted way to pronounce those Aztec names. Bravo to you 👏🏻👏🏻 Second of all .. was enjoying your heart ❤felt story about your angels and then you had to drop that F bomb 💣 💥 You crack me up 😂. I’m Mexican raised in the US. Haha, thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it and approve of my Aztec pronunciation 😃 I don’t always get ‘em right!
Ive been to the sun pyramid and mexico city and i have never heard of this place. I will make sure to visit next time

I can’t wait to go there but I’m a solo traveller. I can’t solve the mystery of how I will get sunscreen on my back
Roll up a travel towel, pour sunscreen on it, flip it around your back and rub in. Two times does the trick for me.
I am planning an extended trip, and hopefully a permanent move, to Mexico. So I have been watching a lot of videos on life in Mexico. Yours are my favourite. Keep up the good work! I am hoping that my Spanish will be good enough in 2025 that I can write this in Espanol.
Thank you Rachel, I really appreciate it! ☺️

How do I always manage to cry and laugh out loud watching each of your videos?? 😂😂😂 Yes indeed, there are a lot of amazing people in this world!
Aww, I love that! My life is mostly laughing or crying, with nothing in between 😂

Excellent Video, you are the best! Truly, you are GREAT at making videos! Awesome Ending! 🇲🇽 Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate that! ☺️🇲🇽
There needs to be an extended version of this, or a live stream where you show the bits that had to be cut.
Really? I have so much footage, especially the parades. Hours long….
@@GringoInterrupted i think a livestream would be really cool. You could make comments from the quiet of your couch instead of yelling, and you'd say "oh. oh, this is where..." 🤣 Also, more Poncho.
Watching you give that impassioned speech in face makeup is one for the ages…….
😂
mmm dough bones…

My husband and I watched this excellent video and both agree we need to get to Mexico City for Dio De los Muertos. You did such a good job, documenting the experience and describing what you witnessed. for what it’s worth I attended burning man about 20 years ago, and I can see that a lot of what I saw there at burning man was likely influenced by the tradition of dio de los muertos. Culture really is a wonderful thing so thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much; I appreciate it! I’ll have to look into Burning Man!
But we have to talk about you always! losing your cellphone! Glad you got it back.
Seriously. I need to wear it around my neck. 😂
Great video of Dia de los Muertos. That was an awesome ending of you leaving behind the phone in an Uber. Yes, there's still lots of good people in this world. Someone needs to have his head checked for memory loss,😊this is the second time you have left something behind, last time it was the camera. Anyway, glad to see someone was looking after you! Looking forward to the videos of Veracruz.
Thanks Lou, glad you liked it! Yeah, my head wasn’t in the game again this day! Veracruz coming soon….
Muchas gracias, bendiciones y Feliz Navidad!
