News on Oliveto Restaurant, Elizabeth Street
A new chapter has begun for Olivo restaurants & shops. Following a fire less than 2 weeks ago we have miraculously managed to relocate Oliveto to Olivocarne just a short walk away at number 61 Elizabeth Street and are officially changing the name to Oliveto. We have a brand new menu with all of our delicious pizzas on as well as our famous crab, lobster and bottarga pasta dishes plus a mix of all the Oliveto favourites combined with all the Olivocarne favourites all in one place! Forgive us for a canopy still saying Olivocarne (a new one takes at least 2 months to order 🙄), tablecloths instead of bare tables (to be replaced at some stage) and decor which definitely does not look like the old Oliveto but needs must and we hope you will still love it as much as the old one 🙏🏻

Our new wine of the month is now available to buy from our deli/wine shop Olivino and to drink in all of our restaurants! This delicious ruby Sardinian red Cannonau is medium bodied but with quite a high alcohol content so sip very slowly!!

Please do not throw away the leaves. Sauteed with olive oil, a little garlic and chilli they taste real nice.

Thanks Mauro! I tried in the past how I thought it would be to cook, but never worked out well. I have Made this way now 3 times in the last 2 weeks. AMAZING!!

It’s my understanding that blue crabs are an invasive species in Italy and the government just allotted million of Euros to combat the problem. I say catch them and eat them. I get that it can be an issue and in the case of Italy it’s jeopardizing the biomass of clams in the country, but still that’s my kind of invasive species and now we’re seeing lots of cooking videos for dishes like linguini al Granchio. Looks wonderful enjoy! I heard that King Crab is also an invasive species in the North Atlantic. With such desirable invasive species it seems like the solution is obvious.

Great recipe. Delicious ! The noise that you make with your pot, pans is quite distracting , makes production less professional.
Maybe some fine fried breadcrumbs. Looks wonderful I don’t have any crab, but I think I’ll make some linguine with clams tonight.

Hello Mauro. I am deeply saddened to see what happened at Oliveto. Very well done for transferring the activities so quickly to Olivocarne. A brilliant decision!
