Welcome to Wheelzwoodworking By: Chad "Wheelz" Palmer. My passions for woodworking started in my early teens in high school wood shop. After graduation I was envolved in a serious accident that left me in a wheelchair. I honestly thought I would never walk or be able to do any kind of woodworking after that. After a difficult year of recovery and adjusting to life in a wheelchair I realized I could still woodwork like I did in the past but I had to make some modifications to how I do it. Today I work full time for BC Ambualnce Service as a 911 Call Taker / Dispatcher where I specialize in dispatching our helicopters and planes and also have a part time woodworking business where I build custom furniture or express my self in unique woodworking challenges. I'm NOT an expert at woodworking and I will never claim to be. I'm a regular guy who loves to build cool challenging things and share them with you. tip top my man... you have a good eye...
Never seen someone spread CA glue with their finger.. you're a brave man hahaha! Great vid!
A work of art! Great job!
Good afternoon, friend, I would like to know if you have those wooden hammers for sale and if you can give me the information where I can buy what you make, thank you in advance😊
Love how you show every aspect! Evening the cleaning up portion! For my students, this will be great stuff to emulate!
Thanks for making this and sharing your process. It came out great and you encouraged me to make one with some walnut and maple I had laying around.
That looks great.
nice work! the curly maple does indeed look great!
You are an inspiration to us Chad. Thank you. I love your wanting to help us who want to do woodworking.
Great job looks cool
Looks good
Oof sorry about the dropped box, but the finished one came out great!
BRAVO ZULU
Good idea to use a J-roller to spread glue!
Wow! Very nice. This video is my favorite for a brick pattern board.
turned out great in the end 1 out of two aint bad im sure it happens im hoping to do my first band box in the new year
Great video chad
I an only imagine what you paid for that paduak
TOUGH GUY EH YOU LITTLE PUG MEAT KID
TOUGH GUY EH?
TOUGH GUY EH
Amazing project tools. Watching from Pampanga Philippines 😊
Take them damn gloves off! Why do people still think that's safe! Stupid!
Great looking boards bud. The only critique I had was the one you built through the video has my eye twitching because it set off my OCD with everything alternating but then two slices were the same side by side. Don't know if that was an intentional design element or not but that would drive me bananas😳🤣😂 I like all the patterns though, They all came out nice.
Great video and craftsmanship. I love that you ran the end grain board through a planer. Most will say that it is too risky and may cause chip out and damage the board and the planer. I run end grain boards through the planer all the time but glue on a edge grain board on either side as a sacrificial board and then just use the table saw to cut it off when I am done plaining. Keep up the great educational videos!
I like the way you put plastic on bench for glue up.. awesome box
Bravo! I'm a retired Bricklayer long time woodworking hobby, planning on doing one of these boards. Fine work my friend.
Hey Chad, I really liked your video, it really shows a detailed step by step process, thank you. Also the wood type used in each mallet, wow! Great mixtures dude, Gucci or Prada should endorse you😄just so the can put brand on your mallets 💰💰💰Thanks again.
WHERE to get so much flock material? It is so f... expensive. sry.
Looks great. Keep it up. What finish did you use?
Chad, make yourself a joiner push stick. I don’t want to see someone calling you lefty wheels.
I was wondering what the best and most economical way is to make the end grain strips for the brick style cutting board? I don't have a bandsaw, so any resawing is with table saw. TY😊
What do you think is the minimal width of the boards for the first glue up? Aiming for a thick end product. 4/4, 5/4, 3/4 @ least 24" long
love it, inspires me for a spring project
Why can you not mix end grain and the other direction? Is it an aesthetic thing or a technical thing that will effect the actual use of the board?
I wish you could showed how to do the juice grooves.
Did you have any trouble running end grain thru the planer?
Hey Chad! Where yah go?
I've made a few of these. but I've found with the last 2, when I put the wedges in the top the handle has pushed to one side. making it not straight. any tips for this?
Hi from the One Handed Maker Australia. I just discovered your channel and have subscribed. Great video and fantastic project. I love the cutting board and contrasting timbers. Keep up the woodwork and videos. If you get time check out my latest project. Regards James
Excellent work. Looking forward to more videos from you. Appreciate the effort you put into the videos.
Great video and beautiful board. I love the smell of padouk when cutting.
What size bandsaw blades do use use ,love the box.
Excellent work! Thank you for sharing. And thank you for resisting the temptation to add cheesy music in the background. Some TH-camrs seem to think that adding music is essential, but it rarely adds anything to the production. In most cases it is an unwelcome and intrusive distraction.
Nice one. Just started making these. What size blade do you recommend for those curves?
I just found your channel and I love it! I see you haven’t posted in a year. Have you quit TH-cam?
Hey Chad, thanks so much for sharing this video. I’m going to get one going later this week. Really appreciate your time and effort in putting out such great content for us! So from Bend, OR, be well up in BC and God Bless my friend!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you 🙏🏻
