Why use the wood hardener on the exterior when you're going to do an epoxy coat at the end anyway? Curious, great project at the end.
I used the penetrating epoxy (hardner) to seal the wood before the table top epoxy as this prevents moisture and air bubbles from effecting the finish.

I don't know if I'm ever going to eventually pick up lathe work, but I can see ways it overlaps with the lapidary work I do. Also, for some reason I find quiet ASMR videos like yours to be soothing. No politics, no bullshit, just artistry.

You caught me! The Lagunas are taking over my background slowly but surely! Seriously, its the same one - and only one - (since my wife found out I had two, I would be the only one left! haha. What your seeing is the remote control console that comes with the Laguna. So you can remotely operate at a safe distance away from the spinning wood and such...cheers!
You should have one of those bowl cutters. Wasting a lot of good cherry there.

Brilliant. Cherry is a lovely wood to turn , but it cracks all the time which puts s lot of Turner's off. It shows the skill of a true master turner to get such a lovely bowl. Well done sir.

Very nice, but you cut away most of the Burl.
Yes, in retrospect I should have reversed the burl to allow less epoxy and more burl. However the “punky” wood was a risk to stabilize.

Excellent and beautiful piece. Always gorgeous colors and so talented. We spoke before about thermal swirling. One you tuber was saying to wait as long as you can to add your swirling stuff. Just food for thought and hope it works. Your the master! What size is that mold? Looks to be in the 8” x 5-6” deep and can’t find anything in that range on crafted elements. Thanks mate! It’s a 12 x 5 and the one that it sits in is a 16 x 5. I use the 12” more often As the larger one produces a huge bowl that isn’t as poplar to sell. I guess it’s the economics since the amount of materials needed for the large one dictates the price. Cheers
