Negros Occidental is a richly-endowed province in terms of natural resources, vast sugar plantations and the most organized urban zones. Kung gaano katamis ang tubo dito, ganuon din ang huni ng pananalita ng mga Hiligaynon. Mang Inasal originated from here, at the Bacolod seafront is where Manokan country located.

This area of the Philippines does have it's own rich history! However, as history continues, this church will have an impact on that as well. I look forward to see what that might become. Thanks for your comment and all the best to you.

That is a beautiful church. If I can't make it to Bosnia, at least, this church is almost like being there. By the way, it is pronounce as Med-ja-go-re. Safe travels.

You should! Take a leap of faith and visit. I think February is the best month to visit. After the higher prices of Christmas and before spring break. Where would you go in the Philippines?

Negros has still a lot to discover and offer . We love modernization/change but at the same time letting our historic, natural things and places remain just the way they are.Thank you for visiting.. Go Bacolod, Go Negros Occidental!!

I remember seeing this passing down the road before the sugar cane grew tall. I was like a huge church in the middle if nowhere and then it wasnt the typical Spanish old style church. Still different and something to see. Usually in the Philippines everything is always a copy.

grew up sa Bacolod (1966-71). It was the Golden Years of Negros Sugarcane since it was pumping Sugar sa entire US West Coast. There were a lot of Stateside Stuff (such as 25 cents original Marvel & DC Comics, Bob's Big Boy Burger, the original big 3 American tractors - Ford, International Harvester, & John Deere), and the Hacienderos were flourishing. The Ilongos are also a super malambing culture.
