Okay, two things: 1.) Would this require an RTX 4090, or could I run this on something older? 2.) I feel like a shooter game would fit the movie better than Rollercoaster Tycoon IN SPAAAACE!

Huge fan of the movie initially, but as I grew as an artist myself I really came to appreciate the original Topps cards as well. I'm loving the look of this so far, as well as the funny little bits of trademark black humor.

Thanks for posting. Here’s a dumb question. Why is the sketch canvas shaped like that?
Not a dumb question! The game's key art is used in lots of different places, with different aspect ratios etc. we make the image so it covers a super wide ratio (e.g. banner above social media), tall (e.g. for a vertical capsule on Steam), zoomed out (if we need to pan across in a video) and the default 16:9. Check out the dev log for more about Sammy's process making the image!

I, for one, appreciate you asking this question. As a solo dev I have struggled to keep adapting my key art to different formats. I'll have to develop a similar guide sheet for myself going forward.

I really want to see more about the game. Looks great! An idea for a feature. If you can abduct special characters, not only the could make the park more attractive, but also have a special trait. Like if its a musician, the game music changes.
Thanks for the suggestion! We are still working on ways to make the special characters have a real impact on gameplay, so we may need to borrow that idea 😉

Good news:mars attacks is back. Bad news: it's a sim game.
But why a Theme Park Game? Why not a base builder like Evil Genius or a Colony Builder like Tropico?
As mentioned in the video, we don't own Mars Attacks so weren't looking for a game type to just reskin with the IP. We were interested in a specific gameplay concept that we hadn't seen before - a reverse zoo with humans as exhibits - and then pitched that concept to the owners of Mars Attacks. Reskinning existing games with a different IP doesn't make it a better game - often you're better just playing the existing game :)
Tbh, I was hoping this was a colony builder like Tropico or a base builder like Evil Genius. Not Theme Park Tycoon.
I just don’t understand any of this!! What part of the mars attacks IP screams amusement park build tycoon Sim? That idea is more suited for something like Cartman Land from South Park.

Is there a reason for the title, or did someone really want to sound clever? Because that title is a fumble at describing this game, and it's not very good on it's own, I'm sorry. Is it supposed to mean that the game attracts people to it? That's a stretch, and if that's actually what the title means then you need to fire that person because your janitor could probably come up with a better title.
Not sure what you mean by the 'game attracts people', but the title is a reference to the core gameplay concept (building an attraction) while playing on 'Mars Attacks' (the IP). Too late to change now so it'll have to do 🙂

That’s so cool with the stars, simple yet elegant!
It’s so left field, and yet that just captures the nature of Mars Attacks. In many ways this feels a perfect way to do a Mars Attacks themed game, capturing the humour and campy horror of the series. I’m not even someone who’s had that much experience with park sims but this is one that as a fan of Mars Attacks, I must check out!
