Severn Valley Railway Kidderminster Station 40th Anniversary Weekend Saturday 27th July 2024
As this fell on my birthday on the 27th July I thought I'd treat myself to a present and spent the day at Severn Valley Railway for the 40th Anniversary of Kidderminster Station reopening.
I arrived at 08.30am to have a look around before getting on the 10am steam hauled service to Bridgnorth where I planned to look around but it decided to chuck it down with rain so I then caught it back up to Highley Station instead where I walked back to the foot crossing to see two Westerns, Ragley Hall and a suprise 37 instead of the steam I had previously travelled on, I then went back to Highley Station for the last service to Kidderminster which was hauled by D1015 and thoroughly enjoyed it but the best bit was yet to come for a lovely birthday treat arriving at Kidderminster was 7714 and I was lucky enough to be allowed up onto the footplate and chat to the driver before it left Kidderminster.
I had the best birthday ever at Severn Valley Railway and definitely intend on going back again very soon to explore more of its delights.

The Settle to Carlisle & Coastal Pullman. The Midland Pullman taken at Solihull Station on the 12th June 2024 at 22.15 stopping to drop passengers off on the 1st stop from Carlisle on its way back to Gerrards Cross, even the driver needed a cuppa and had 1 waiting for him getting to Solihull. 1st time seeing this up so close and I wasn't disappointed even if the lighting was not that great

Why did it slow at craven arms piss?
It was 3 minutes early there and then by the time it past Church Stretton it was running 14 late so was held up for some reason, disappointing day all round unfortunately
@@AndysSteamAdventures On the way back from Cardiff there was some confusion with signalling, the route was set though Shreswbury to the north rather than towards Telford, the train had to call the signaller and wait for it to be altered.
