I was ten when it came out, and I loved it. I bought the DVD a couple years ago and still love it, in all it's cheesy glory.

Movie night with the kids was The Goonies again and I just randomly started googling. This is such a great thing to find! Can't wait to tell everyone about it!

Imagine if they had cast Brian HIMSELF as Flash Gordon. Nothing against Sam J. Jones, the man IS Flash Gordon, but Brian has so much energy and presence. Had he been cast in the lead role, Flash Gordon would've graduated from a household name to the finest film humanity has ever created.

I don't care if my opinion goes against Michael Ende's interpretation of the story, but the movie was way better than the book. The book is so much more drawn out & it's just plain boring. The movie was great. I believe it's ok for directors & other movie makers to create their own version of the story, there's some things that look good visually & some things should be kept in books.

When i saw it when i was younger in the late 80s🥰 i fell in love with this move. The creator of this movie got the imaginatons of MANY kids correct. He Made NO mistake with creating this movie and im glade he did not decide not to release it. This move was WELL DONE❤ i only wish there could be more creative movies like this today. Superman did hinder him. Plus, to his credit, he was really honest about his experience with Brando being a lazy actor, the Salkinds and Lester ruining the series. I think by being honest, he was blacklisted in a way. You don't see that honesty today. Most interviews the person says, "working with so and so was terrific, he was a genius, etc..."

If you read the book and get it, it makes total sense that Michael Ende hated the movie! The movie is very disrespectful to the original story BUT I really can enjoy the movie as a version of Michael Endes vision! I watch it at least once a year!

My aunt took me to the cinema to watch FOTN when I was 8 or so. My name is David and my brother is Jeff, so right away my kid brain was confused, thinking there was something special about this, and then that part where he knocks on his old house, calling out from his mom and dad... that stayed with me my whole life. I just showed it to my current partner who has never seen it, and it still hit me hard! Classic.

I also wish I had known you weren’t able to get an interview with Paul (Reubens) for the doc. He was a family friend & I know I could have gotten him to at least do a Zoom call with your team for the film. His health the last 3-5 years had taken a huge toll on him & he was very apprehensive of anything compromising his immune system (a severe cold once put him out of commission for almost 2 months 😢). He was a precious man & is deeply missed, and I know he looked back on Navigator with a warm heart & was very saddened by how hard stardom was on Joey, as he had been through the ringer himself & pulled back on public appearances for the majority of the mid 90s up to the mid 2010s.

Just found out about these. Looking to buy the set of all 4 (inc. the upcoming Goodfellas one) as I grew up on all of these movies. As a permanently disabled woman almost 40, the nostalgia of my childhood & seeing what happened after the cameras stopped rolling has always been huge for me. Since we are too poor for internet, we collect physical media when we can save for them - especially Arrow & ShoutFactory movie sets - as the human side of the stories are what matter to me as well. Just wish I had the income to invest more in these projects/afford more of these docs 💔

Atreyu teached every Child one fundamental thing for life which can be seen in the Sphinx Gate scene. - Self Confidence Unfortunately the child who portrayed him didn't get much of that otherwise he wouldn't be a drug addict with homeless bum vibes.
