Wildermyth Critique
Wildermyth is a self described myth-making tactical RPG. What exactly does that mean? Well, I'm certainly not going to give you the answer here. You're going to have to watch the video for that. Okay, I'll give you a hint. It focuses on party-building elements reminiscent of Baldur's Gate or DnD in general. Where the biggest appeal is the development of the characters in your party, not the overarching plot.

Crusader Kings 3: The Biggest Flaw
มุมมอง 4343 ปีที่แล้ว
Out of all of Paradox's grand strategy games, I think Crusader Kings 3 might be the most unique and have the most potential. However, potential is where that line is drawn. The overall quality of the game is good, although, after a few playthroughs, you come to realize just how much depth this title is lacking. This video explores that issue and some methods on how it could be combated. 0:00 In...

Omori Critique: A Narrative Marvel
มุมมอง 79K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Man, what is there to say. This title is easily one of the best story-rich games I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. To me, Omori is less a game and more of a story. If you don't mind old-school JRPG combat, then there is nothing about this game that you will not enjoy. Heck, even if you don't like the combat, this title is worth playing for the narrative alone. While it came out in t...

Haven: A Strong Experience An Okay Game

Haven is an action-adventure RPG. Since every game is an RPG nowadays, how about we drop the bs and just say it's a story rich adventure game with extremely light RPG elements that are hardly worth mentioning. Join me as I take a critical look at a title that has a strong story with mediocre gameplay. Since I have absolutely no musical talent, all music used in this video belongs to Danger.

The thing I didn't like about Resident Evil 8 is how small the legacy dungeons were.. The Castle was short and so was the doll area... Even though there were a few locations the game some how felt smaller than Resident Evil 1 in the mansion.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way, then I watched your video and agree on almost 100%. I fully completed act 1 with all side quests and activities and was feeling great about the game. The game is absolutely stunning visually and even from music perspective. And then act 2 makes you realize it's gonna be all the same for another 2/3 of the game and I stopped. Then I came back some time after and B lined the main quest and completed Isakawa and Masako's side quests out of curiosity. God, these quests pissed me off. The whole point of chasing Tomoe was to let her go? Her justifications were so bs that I felt the game was doing a cruel joke. And Masako is such a one dimensional character, that I started to hate her even more because of her quest. The only redeeming quality is the main quest finale, which does put some closure imo, but it is not worth investing that much time for at best an average story. I know they are different games, but games like Witcher have interesting characters and stories to follow as side quests, and games like Horizon have worthwhile rewards and banging combat in their side activities. This has nothing. And I wouldn't be that pissed off at this game if it wasn't labeled GOTY and a masterpiece, because it is a good game, but holy shit is it overrated. One of the most beautifull dull gaming experiences that I had in a while

I disagree that they can’t do both horror and action. I think it’s possible and RE8 has a decent enough setup for that sort of thing. It just fails at achieving it and you pretty much covered most of the ways in which it does. I’m surprised you didn’t touch more on inventory and resource management. That was a massive failure of the game imo. I do like RE8, but I have some issues with it as a Resident Evil game. But I do believe the seeds of blending both the survival horror and action horror are there.

The main story and conflict that Jin is dealing with is barely challenged and certainly never fleshed out so idk how anyone can say the story was good. The side missions did not add anything in any realm and in most cases were genuinely mundane, chore like, and took too much time to complete. I will say that the combat was better than expected but gets dulled the longer you play, not by its own fault, but by the rest of the game. I will say that the aesthetics of this game and overall HUD design was a 10/10 but that alone should not yield any title a GOTY.

I think the game was nice other than the Moraou section just a new player killer. I died there the first time to random things happening that a new player would not know. The first half felt like a blend of re 1-3 and 7 and after that was re 4-6 styled. it feels right Ethan at the point of Heisenberg is pure annoyed not really scared unlike when he first meets the Lycans. The boss battle feels like a final push that you can mow through the enemies. It's not bad blend its more bad story that just didnt make sense as much that lead to the jarring changes in tone.

Resident Evil Village is simply a dumb game. I hated it when I first played it. But after multiple playthroughs I've come to appreciate it some. I have fun with it, very mild fun, its not great and no part of it is. Its an easy game made to sell. If this game had come out 15-20 years ago when people were far less stupid, this game would have gotten crapped on by almost everyone. The worst part of it all has got to be the stupid haunted house. Its comically bad, an entire section where you can't really die. Then you fight a cringey boss by pressing ONE BUTTON three times. Who is impressed by this? Ten year old girls? This is Resident Evil? The M rated game? This stuff is pathetic. I didn't think it could get worse than the Resident Evil 3 remake, but it did.

I really loved the game. But the open world lost it's charm around the end of act 2. They could just have the foxes lead you to different things each time. And the bamboo cutting gets boring real fast. And if you could cut bamboo in the openworld it would really elevate the game. The HUD, Guiding Wind and the stand offs are the things that made it special. Though if you could have a honor system kinda like RDR2 it would really fit the game. Standoffs are basically same as quickdraw.

  • @dathunderman4

every “critique” of a highly rated game starts w/ an intro depicting people saying the game is the best thing ever that cured cancer. This allows an easy takedown because all you have to do is show that it’s not the best game ever. Idk why you felt this game needs to reinvent the wheel. Pretty much every review on this game has already mentioned that the game isn’t anything revolutionary and that its biggest weakest is its repetitiveness. But Sometimes a game is just fun to play, and it’s hard to describe why. Applying that same reasoning to your video, what is the point of making this 2 hour long critique over points that others have already addressed? Also, The Witcher 3 can be described as a Ubisoft clone as well. But no Ubisoft game has quite executed and presented itself in the way Witcher 3 and Ghost of Tsushima has, and that’s what matters. Basically ANY open world game can be described as a Ubisoft clone.

    • @smeller1214
      @smeller1214 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

the Witcher 3 cannot be described as a Ubisoft clone as the items and quests you collect are not low scale arbitrary garbage. this can be directly proven by just comparing the fact you can pick up a different weapon in the Witcher 3, compared to just picking up a different weapon skin in ghost of Tsushima.

i love this analysist video ( 57:05 ) but the point of this was for omori to intentionally make the player and party forget about basil to stop them from finding out the truth and go back to the dreamworld ( 1:18:24 ) this is not true its more like omori doesnt want basil to reveal the truth while sunny hopelessly watches his best friend die this is supported by 1.sunny imagens basil encorejing him to make new memorys together bc its what he wants,in the true ending the cutseen is sunny smiling at basil and basil smiling back if he had any negative feelings for basil he wouldnt have smiled also in the true canon ending sunny saves basil from su!cide if he held malice intentions toward basil he would not save basil so overall he has no negative feelings toward basil more like negative feelings for himself for letting basil help him and omori kills basil not bc of any malice but because of the truth bc in the hikkikomori route omori saves basil and gets him back other then this i love this video bc it shows the players thoughts during the game and i love that

This was honestly one of the best Omori videos I have ever listened to. You really did a great job highlighting the emotion of the game, to the point that towards the end I truly was at the edge of my seat! I would like to point out a few things though <3 First, is that even though Kel is the strongest most cheerfull in the group, and the one who reunited everyone, he is still a very sad character. Growing up with a "perfect" older brother, and not the best grades, he resorted to being happy for everyone else. Thats why he can be so anoying, and why he is always bragging about being taller or stronger than hero. It is the only thing he has, the only thing he shines on. It feels like he knows every one problems or struggles, so he understates his own and strives to always make the laugh. This is perfectly conveyed in the official art they made for his birthday, if you want to check it out 💫 The other thing is how is highlighted both Hero's character in the dreamworld and Basil's friendship with Sunny. It may not be canon, but I really think Sunny had an special admiration towards Hero, or even a bit of a distant crush. This would be why his character is shown as a super charismatic handsome boy, capable of making anyone fall in love, in a similar way Aubrey is portrayed to have a huge crush on Sunny since he had one on her first 🌱 Finally, I think that Basil felt something really special towards Sunny, a childlike love, or at least more than a friendship. He is always putting flowers on Sunny's hair and he describes tulips, Sunny's flowers, as the most perfect plants. And tulips in flower language are associated with young, pure love! The love he profess to him also explains that he can't believe Sunny was to blame after the accident, and makes his feeling of abandonment from Sunny all more heartbreaking. He came up with the fucked up idea of the suicide in the rush to protect his most important person in the world, and that person stopped talking to him for years. Sunny, on the other hand, was really close to Basil, but now he can't think about him without remembering the accident because is just too painfull, as it shows in headspace. He tries to kill him just so he won't exist anymore to remind him of it, and Basil feels this, but is still able to comfort him through the tears. He is truly the best boy </3 Im sorry this is such a long text, but I really love this game and talking about it! Keep up the great work! And stay safe everyone <33!

But the game play can change. Change your armor change your charms. Whole new experience. Play more stealthy. Play t With the blow gun and turn people against their own. The constant changing of stances. I mean this game delivers. And the story is captiving, you feel for the character when his horse dies. I'm sorry but no other game has had this type of reaction to the story telling at least for me. Can we say there were like zero bugs at launch? How many games can say they do that? Even elden ring had entire quest lines missing. There's duels with each encounter playing different especially on harder difficulties with no ghost tools. And just to receive side quests, you save a prisoner, they mention hey go check out this place of interest. My interface isn't cluttered with a mini map and 3 million exclamation marks. I'm riding on my horse my entire ui disappears to I can absorb myself into the game. What game does this stuff better? And if you say ubisoft I swear you are outta your mind. I played one ubisoft game and shut it down after 20 hours of dog sh*t game play.

I have every achievement on RE7 and I'm proud of it. I'm really into what they've created. I bought RE8 thinking I'll get Resident Evil: Biohazard, but with Dracula. Playing Ethan on another adventure, where I face inhuman odds and push through with the help of wit, determination, luck and quick thinking, but this time instead, in a European village with themes of superstition, paganism, vampires and maybe some folklore. Exploring Castle Dimitrescu, discovering things, fighting for my life, being able to memorise another location by heart and bite into an another game with the same obsession, hell, maybe I'll try speedruning it too. What I got instead was a jumbled mess of ideas and themes, Lady D for maybe an hour, Where the fuck did that doll come from, who the fuck is that ugly guy, nobody cares and someone's cringy Bloodborne OC. Also a dark god-mother, and also werewolves, and there's that one giant that also looks like a Soulsborne enemy, and werewolves ride on horses, also the village has some gory pagan themes, just for spice, also Redfield is an ass, and also- This fucking game cannot decide on what it WANTS to be, much less if it wants to be a successor to Biohazard or RE4. It's like saying "Hey, people like football and baseball, so let's combine the two" and as a result, fans of both are unsatisfied because neither team can properly interract with one another
