How to fix power window on Ford Territory
มุมมอง 60K4 ปีที่แล้ว
What to do when the window of a Ford Territory stops working? The driver's window stopped working while the window was still open. This video demonstrates how I investigate, whether the switch or motor is broken. After taking all the door trim off, I used a multimeter to work out where the fault is. Instead of replacing the whole assembly, I show that it is possible to only replace the motor. I...
Best video on here for doing this 👍🏻
Don't you need to depressurise the system first? Edit: no, I just forgot how diesels worked for hot minute, at least this particular diesel anyway.
Hi Mike, thanks a lot for the great video. When do I need to change the disks as well? Or how many pads sets does a disk holds?
What replacement pads did you use for the M Sport brakes?
Thank You SO Mucch! Very helpful.
Great video thank you Mike. When my RH window goes all the way down it stays down and I have to take the door card off and manually lift the glass while working the switch. It runs up and down freely from about 25mm above the opening. How do I stop it going all the way down other than by using the switch, is there a limiter switch?
very very helpful. you saved me alot of time and money. thank you greatly!
Hey I broke the bolt underneath the oil pan and now it’s leaking and I don’t have a plug to replace it what should I do?
Nice work mate 👌🇦🇺
Great video. Seems to answer all the questions I had about undertaking this job on my G05 M. Message recently popped up and I also noted the sound of the wear indicators sporadically while parking. Hoping the rotors are fine. I did find the pads on Rockauto for 63 dollars US. These are premium replacements from Power Stop. Just ordered them today but they appear to be the correct ones. We will see how they look when they arrive.
Thanks!!
I will use your video as a baseline to start. The materials look right. I would probably do at least another 2 coats to get the right colour and a better blend. Also I would not use a heat gun or hairdryer to speed up the drying process because that can make the paint finish more shinier than a “matte” colour.
That Bluetooth jack stand shows me this guy knows all the safe tricks
can't believe it. it's so simpler than no M brake version thanks for s great video
How to use wires on the front left door windows it has burn
Great video. I want to repair my wheel also. What Dremel Accesory number are you using as grinding wheel?
Cheers Thanks!! I found my motor was working after I took it out. But the slides and rubbers for the windows were in need of a clean and spray with a dry lube. That fixed it.
Could anyone paste a link of the calipers
Socketsizes ?????
I saw other videos and was stuck turning the bulb to the left of course no one else explained the all-important lever situation. I followed your instructions and it only took me minutes after an hour of up and down frustration LOL thanks again great video
Did your ecodiesel spin its bearings yet?
No, 250000km so far no issue
I don‘t find the plug to get the headlight out..
I thought my grand cherokee had h11 bulbs
Great job. Thanks!
My territory window doesn’t move, but motor working, anyone knows what’s wrong? Switch ok
Great video Would have tested lights prior to putting back together
THANK YOU FOR gratetips
For a clueless chick, this really helps.
why d hell you taking the whole housing off.. i did it with iust taking the filter itself and the box
Thanks for showing how to do this. I think I might give it a go. This was a helpful video 👍👍
Very good video just add part number for next time!
Love it. Thanks
Thanks for posting this mate - made the job a lot easier. I had already watched a few other vids on this but they were all US, where the connector for the bulb is different to the AUS model, so this was a big help.
I have 3 windows not working (the only one that does is the drivers) would I have to do this on all 3 windows?
Thanks mate. Seems that the Aussie GCs are a little different to the US ones so this helped a lot. A bit fiddly trying not to touch the bulbs but I managed. I dropped the bulbs into the housing, plugged them in and then fitted them in place. Cheers.
Great video doing mine tomorrow thanks
update , motor incredably easy to repair , remove rubber seal ,unsolder the connecter and the motor basically pulls apart ,clean the communtator with a pencil eraser reinsert resolder , it seemed to be brushless in their - run some silicon spray around the tracks ,you now have a recon window motor and a working window - great vid i done motor repair before just getting to it on these modern cars - once out it may appear to work but it needs a clean - thanks for the tips , total cost 10$ for the silicon spray
Nice , im hoping to repair the motor , I Can not believe how tiny that motor is. last time i fixed one of these was in a Holden VL commodore a car from 1986 and the motors were huge compared to the territory , crapped out after years of service it was maybe 2010 i did that job for a friend. I should do a vid on if i can repair said tiny motor in my 1/2 bung territory.
I could not get my hand in there to remove the bulb. I'll have to take it in. This is not an easy job
Excellent tutorial. I was able to do it successfully on both sides in about 1 hour. The most difficult part for me was to remove to plugs as you need to squeeze two latches on both sides of the plug while pulling it; for me it worked after having removed the bulbs from the lamps with the plugs on. Other tricky parts were to find the holes in the headlight for the new bulbs without bending the wire on the bulb, as well as fiddling on the plugs onto the mounted bulbs. The levers were quite hard to turn, but I finally managed... I would have probably given up without this video. A huge thanks!!
Thank you for sharing your process!
Changed the passengers bulb no worries but having trouble with the drivers. Is there anything you sugest
The drivers side window doesn't go up or down, all the other windows work. I check the fuse and there fine, do u think its the switch or the motor? Thank u in advance 5:27
Ummm that's fixed?
Apparently 🤣🤣
wait. you're not spending $3,000 at your BMW service department? thats what i just got quoted. think i will try this instead. thank you!!
For 3.000 $ you will get 4 new rotors and 8 new brake pads installed at a BMW dealer!!!
Took about 45mins to replace both bulbs with LEDs. Bit tight for room but thanks for the vid.
Probably the best HowTo video I've ever seen, simple, competent in mechanical and video performance and relaxing. Am so much more confident to do this myself next time. Usually have to watch someone not quite competent and fumbling with dodgy tools and terrible filming.this was perfect. Showed how easy it is and made you feel at ease.
Thank you for your kind review. Made my day. Tip: Don't give up when car doesn't want to start afterwards, it sometimes takes a while for the fuel to fill the system. Cheers, Mike
Mike. Thanks so much for putting this together. I tackled this yesterday. The drivers side was straight forward thanks to your info. It was a different story on the passenger side. I have the Hemi 5.6 engine and there is NO room on that side! The bolt pattern on the overflow tank was different and there was a bolt so low that I couldn't get to it, so I couldn't move it. I had to un-bolt the ECU and move it out of the way but it was still a very tight space. It took me 2 hrs to finally get it in and locked by going from above and below via the access hole in the wheel well. Then I tried to put the rubber cover back on and found that a wire was under the bulb connector wire and was blocking the cover. Uggg! I had to remove the bulb and the connector (hint on removing the connector: use a flat head screwdriver next to the top of the connector where it touches the bulb housing and wiggle it to slowly push the connector off) to move the offending wire and then go through the process all over! It went a bit quicker the second time. ALl in all, it took me 3.5 hrs but that included a run to Ace for a metric socket set. Cheers!
Thank you for your comment.
Replacing the passenger side…It is FAR easier to just remove the Bumper, Grill and then pull the headlight out.
What's the bar you were grinding into with your dremel spin wheel?
Do you happen to know the part number for the brake pads? Front and rear with blue M performance brakes. Thank you!
