Martin Scolt history tours & reenactment
First of all, thank you for checking out my channel and video's. Let me introduce myself, my name is Martin, I live in Eindhoven the Netherlands and i have a giant passion and interest in worldwar 2. It started when i was a young boy and it never go away. i love visiting historical sites and talking with people who were witness of the war. Some 7 years ago i started reenacting and learing more and more about it. It grew out to be a passion which keeps me busy on a daily base. I read books, watch video's of other youtubers and Like i already said, visit historical locations. On june 6th 2021 i got the idea of creating a youtube channel while i was watching saving private Ryan. I saw the scene where capt. Miller put a mirror on a bajonet and decide to try myself if it would be possible. This was my first video. Allong the way i keep learning more and more and i do my best to translate it as best a i can to my viewers. I hope you enjoy it.
Unboxing the AGM stg 44 airsoft gun. An iconic ww2 rifle.
Recently i got a bonus on my salary and i could have used it in all kinds of ways but i have been looking at this airsoft gun for some time and decided it was finaly time to order the darn thing. It took less then a week to arrive and i cou;dn't bearly wait to open it but first we had diner and after that i had to set up my camera equipment to start filming. The footage shows that it sure was worth the wait. A sturdy, quite heave AGM stg 44 came out the box and i was amazed by it's looks. The manufacturer sure did a great job in making this replica gun look as realistic as it is.
In the video i said i would not shoot it but since i had a little footage of the rate of fire and trigger response on my phone i decided to add it to the video. so it does not show how acurate it shoots but you get an idea of how it performs. I bought it at:
www.taiwangun.com/assault-rifle-aeg/mp44-full-metal-aeg-assault-rifle-replica-real-wood-agm
Source for the info of the real firearm i got it from wikipedia.

I went to Normandy again last year in august aftter reading the book The cover up at Omaha beach and i had to check out some things for myself even tho i went there 2 months earlier too. It took me a long time to sit down and edit this video but in the end i am hppy i waited a long time because looking back at this footage took me back to that warm day in august of 2023. while i was on holiday in Normandy we drove from there to almost the centre of ffrance to visit this small quiet village. While we were in the new village higher up we knew that the old village was down there t...
German Cemetery Lommel. A breathtaking place.
Some years back i went here and ever since i wanted to make a video about this cemetery. It is located south of Lommel and is about a 40 minute drive from Eindhoven. Located in the woods it is very quiet and peacefull nowadays. One of the people who worked here told us that it was actualy hard to find a location for the cemetery since no Belgian town wanted the Germans buried there and Lommel w...
Saving private Ryan Mirror test. But then the new version.
About 3 years ago i started this channel and my very first video was the mirror test. I decided to do it again but with my new skills since the first video i looked like a zombie. Now atleast the test is enjoyable to watch. So i have never seen this happen on real ww2 Photo's but since the soldiers back then were very creative it might be possible. I hope to read about it somewhere some day. Wi...

Juno beach then and now. Let´s have a look in the Canadian sector of the Normandy beaches.
Last year i went to Normandy again to check out certain locations. This time it was time to visit the Canadian sector. I am fairly new in the Canadian war history and haven´t been to Juno beach upon this time. It was a windy and quite cold morning when we went there so my apologies for the amount of wind. I also forgot to change my microphone cover. Like i said i don't know much bout what the C...
Big bombs still do explode 80 years after they were dropped. Let the EOD do what they do best.
Today i got a message from a friend telling me the EODD were going to detonate a 1000 pound bomb dropped by the brittish during worldwar 2. It just so happend that this was happening only 10 minutes away from my house so i got my camera, got in my car and drove to Eindhoven airbase. During the war Fliegerhorst Welschap was bombed frequently because the Germans were flying from this airfield. It...

Good Job 👍👍
There you go, I'm subscribed to follow your next videos too. Kevin
What the actual fuck happened to your face😂😂😂
Looks nice gonna be asome for your german ww2 reeacment got my self a mp40 and some german kit greetz from yani from snafu back in the day
Nice paint and nice aging process ! But you should have left the paint really get dry before scratching it ! Personnaly, I would have applied (at least) the luft eagle decal on this helmet (I've done this on mine, still totally visible, with a double camo paint mixed with a very thin sand).
Put it under the bed an you can urinate into it in the night.
I'm from Lommel thanks for the nice video.
Put whatever you can fit inside your meat can. Put the sweater and raincoat out flat. Wrap the rest of the contents of the bag in your sweater and raincoat and slide it into the bag. It should all fit if done correctly and the raincoat will keep the contents reasonably dry, even in a fairly heavy rain.
@@georgesakellaropoulos8162 That is quite the idea! I love That. Thank you
My dream is to explore this place,I don't know whether i would reach or not but I heartily give tribute to all victims who died there including Anne, Margot etc.
whats eerie about this is where thousands upon thousands of bodies were buried. you can see the footage of the allies forcing the officers to bury them all and its so creepy to know ur standing ontop of thousands of dead skeletons from once live people.
👍 Very good description. Thank you.
What brand cement did you use?
@@ryancarter1944 i used alabastine wall Filler but i'm sure you can also use regular cement. Thats what they used back in the days.

Good job ,,,,lit more explanation and little clarity in words we better understand
Only advice I have is buy better repro helmets not the cheap Chinese ones from Amazon hessen antiques Kelly’s militaria at the front international military antiques as well as epic militaria sell better ones than the Chinese fish eye ones the shapes will never be 100% but at least it will look better than the china special also some additional advice for painting get some fine aluminum oxide for the textured paint also most repro helmets have bad liners get a new set of split pins and a new liner for the helmets if you plan on making them better that way they look nice and better.
Yes I did enjoyed your video! I've been trying to figure out just what the loop canvas inside near the top of the bag is used for, would you?
Very cool
thank you for this.....very respectfully done
GOD IS ALWAYS WATCHING
It's a pitty you did not use a microphoneonecover reducing the sounds of the wind. Anyway, thanks very mucht your video. I did the Normandy tour for abt. 11 years 6 weeks each time during the ceremonies in June/July. Great plaesure to speak the veterans.
Thank you so much for videotaping your visit there, I served in Germany 83 and 84 with the US Army and visited Bergen Belsen while doing Live Fire artillery training at Munster training area nearby. People must see what the Human race is capable of doing to one another to prevent it from happening again, visits like yours and mine should be mandatory for school children around the world. Thank you again!
pretty good list but the 5 button sweater is not an original one its a modern DSCP GI issue 5 button sweater unlike youi have said the original ww2 gi sweaters were greenish instead of brown so the repro sweaters are a tad bit better to wear then de modern one ( but you have to have a good repro though Sturm ones suck ) you can also change th green US GI buttons with ww2 style brown/butterscotch collored buttons
Thank you very much for your comment. I might look into it to improve my impressions
Yes in the middle of the in ther exercises in 70s
All of that had to be dem after the war bcause of yellow fever
Good to understand this is for the thirt time that this place is changed if you have resarched for this video it is also the grave side off Anne Frank
Thank you. This has been the best video of bergen belsen that I have seen describing where buildings and other objects layout on the ground .
Thank you So much. I really do appreciate your comment. Very happy i could give you a Better idea this way
I've been some twenty years ago around age 19. It will never leave me.
Sadly Anne and Margot are not laid to rest at the gravestone marking. They are somewhere in the thousands of people in mass graves.
This isnt a very good video. He wont keep camera on long enough to read anything or translate to English when in another language. I see trees and land he walks past without explaining what ised to stand there.
If i had to stay still zo you can read everything the video would even be longer. You have to pause the video So you can read it. Also there are original photo's through out the video So you can see how it used to look like and i also showed the maps on the ground made of stone.
They never camouflaged the helmets like that, the helmet had a dark yellow paint and aluminum oxide or sand was finely sprinkled on it, I have original helmets.
They did actualy. There were very much different ways to camouflage helmets. One of which was using concreet. I have seen multiple real helmets to use as reference. You can look it up.
Greetings from Belfast Northern Ireland, I spent every summer in Maastricht during the 80's & 90's .. beautiful laid back easy going place .. thank you.
You would not recognize it today anymore. A lot has Change. The more reason to go and visit again i guess 😁
Thank you.
Thank you😢
Anne and her sister died there
I went there, 1983. I was in the U.S. Army stationed in West Berlin at the time. Was a memorable experience for sure. A place nearby the Belsen camp (Bergen Hohne) was a NATO military training area back then. Will never forget seeing Ann Frank's actual diary pages there, in the memorial building
Bergen and Munster are still big german military camps. You can hear them around the belsen camp in training and shooting
Interesting video Martin thank you...
Do the mirror and bubble gum thing instead
The root of this whole gigantic crime is belief that government is always right and that obedience to the state is the way to morality. Everything about this place challenges that notion. It is the natural state of humanity to yearn to be free...
Your crash site for Meehan IS NOT behind thé hedgerow you are. 100% sure you are at the wrong spot.
It s a bit farther...but i wont tell where the precise hedgerow since it has to be a quiet spot and out of crowd.
You're right. It is a few meters further down the road.
Truly sad 😢I’m wondering was this camp destroyed by Germans or by the government
It was burned down by bren carriers with flamethrowers after the liberation to preventie typhus from spreading
not going to taste because to old😅. #Steve1989MREInfo be like "HOLD MY 1099 crusader pork ration"🤣🤣
Did Bergen belsen have gas chambers where 1000's upon 1000's of people where taken to be murdered?.
Bergen Belsen was a prision camp. No gas chamber but bad conditions of food, water and so on. The prisioners died of hunger, sickness...
We must never forget man's inhumanity to man.
Do I know that Anne frank and her sister is buried there
They are- yes!
Its really horrifying sometimes you can year cannons from the military training Place while walking through the camp.
Did you know! I think you mean.
@@graemegrant4952 ?
Not buried. All dead people there were burned because of epidemic. Nobody has got a grave.

Thank you for this video. I most likely will never be able to travel to these places. But they are important places in history to see. Thank you for such an extensive tour with your time. I’m sure there was so much to see. Viewing from California, US.
Thank you very much. I do these kind of trips with pleasure.
