Resident Evil 2 is a 1998 survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom for the PlayStation. The player controls Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens are transformed into zombies by a biological weapon two months after the events of the original Resident Evil. The gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzles, and combat; the main difference from its predecessor are the branching paths, with each player character having unique storylines, partners and obstacles.

I believe so too! I love claire soooo much! Im enjoying her in code veronica x and soooo cant wait to unlock her red shorts costume when i beat battle game❤❤❤
To this day,Ada and Claire haven't meet each other in person. 🙃
Ironically, enough, i did enjoy that, you did play Leon a more in-depth way because everyone usually talks about the canon version so it was quite nice to hear the opposite for once
If you watch the intro on Leon’s scenario he drives the car head on into the post, he spins the wheel and the cars ends up boot ways in the post on Claire’s scenario.
All depends on the version of final fantasy 2 and the port will be the 2 factors that play row in if you can use the levling glitch
Haha, your monk sucks because you gave him a weapon. I know that's a bit counterintuitive but he'll hit pretty hard unarmed.
Can't wait until Final Fantasy V video is out
Cid should have dwarven...
omg why the hell your channel doenst get more views or attention??
I appreciate the praise! I'm not sure yet but I'll figure it out one day!
How is FF2 not a mature RPG?
That weird swollen face with thin body character model for Angela needs to be fixed. And Maria has a massive noggin too. They have three months to fix that.
This ain't hard, the sewer escort mission however
With Sig and the giant worm?
@@clickingaming no that part of that mech mission is tedious if anything, what im talking about is when Jak goes in the sewers for the 3rd time with Krews men to get one of the seal pieces of Mar.
bro you look like kids sketch. wtf is wrong with ya face
what's wrong with yours
@@clickingaming Bro you need face lift of some sort. a surgery. better cash that youtube thrash money for surgery of your face.
@@STRIDER111-p9g wait but your face looks worse?
Dude, please do a breakdown of Final Fantasy VI.
I will at some point :) I'm a slow player of games but I plan to do every FF eventually
@@clickingamingI just started this game around the end of May and finished my playthrough last week. What a masterpiece it is. By the way, there was this TH-camr that did a retrospective video on Final Fantasy IV as well as numerous other games in the series. Apparently it’s speculated that this games plot borrowed from an underrated classic film called The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen. There are a lot of bits of evidence to back up this man’s claims. Both Baron Munchausen and Cecil end up being attacked by a sea monster, they both head to the underworld and they both head to the moon. Although the alien that Cecil meets isn’t a giant despot who looks like Robin Williams. 😂 I also heard that Golbez essentially was inspired off of Darth Vader (one of cinema’s most well known villains). Sorry if this is a lot to read.
WORST GAME EVER DONT LISTEN TO THE LIES ITS TERRIBLE
It's okay to be bad at the game
@@clickingaming an it's OK to be special

Yes
I think I might be the only one thats feeling kinda skeptical about this remake, just because the original was perfect Imo, overall I’m excited and will pick it up day one.
I feel like it's normal to be skeptical! I'm seeing so many naysayers online tbh which is surprising. It's interesting to see everyone's opinions on the game.
Silent Hill and to an extent resident evil was doing what alien isolation did years earlier. Creepy monsters can be scary but it's far more effective to have a dark soundtrack with ominous visuals with nothing happening at the moment but forcing the player to press forward into the unknown to survive. The monster that you can hear but cannot see in the dark will always be more effective than the monster you can see in bright light.
100% agree. I'm actually surprised at how much combat is in the original SH2. I found the basic enemies to be a bit tiresome after a while and I wish they were spread out more. I dreaded entering other rooms because of the sound design and puzzle layouts, which were excellent. I dreaded fighting the enemies because it felt bad.
Silent Hill was probably the first horror game to feature monster children. Most games shy away from showing children harmed but this game is like "kill all the children!" Lol.
I've got no nostalgia for this game, but after Bloober's most recent showcase, I think the remake has potential! Hoping for the best.
Jak 2 was insanely difficult
Yup! I beat it for the first time since childhood the other day. Was surprised at how hard it was, and I can't believe we played that game as kids lmao.
Ha! I'm like number 200!
Ayyyyy legend!
I enjoy the effort for the time but I think the first re did it best where you had Chris and Jill navigating the mansion and solving puzzles in different ways. Small key vs lockpick. Jill playing piano while Rebecca has to for Chris..Btw I'm honored you actually took a moment to watch and comment on one of my uploads. Did you know RE2 has an infinite ammo cheat code? And I'm surprised you didn't attempt to get the special key off of zombie Brad by not picking up a single item until you get to the police station. Would you be interested in doing a small collab for your upcoming re3? Can give you a lot of lore as well as what it was like to play the game when it initially released in 99?
I do think it's a great game for the time, still! And I appreciate that they experimented. I like to think that if I was there when the game came out I'd have more of an appreciation for it. I'm sad that I wasn't! I didn't know it had a cheat code! And also I forgot about the special key tbh, I was so focused on trying to be good at the game hahaha. And yes! It will be a few months for RE3, as I have a few other project ideas I want to get out first, but I'd love your insight via collab! I'm happy to pay for it as well. That would be awesome! Thank you for offering!
@@clickingamingI don't want money or anything like that. I'm a fan and I just want to make friends with fellow content creators although I do appreciate the gesture. I like the dynamic between us where I'm the older gamer who was there at the beginning and your the younger gamer who is appreciating the re games from a modern perspective. I have decades of knowledge and lore of the games in the series and want to pass that info along. I have Twitter, Facebook and discord if it's easier to communicate there?
Yooooo Finally, glad to see you continue playing RE serious and finishing original RE2. Can’t wait to see you play original RE3. It’s my favorite game from the original series. You should definitely play it at least twice to experience all of the events
Thanks for the support! I'm happy to be done with 2, and yes I'm hyped for 3 as well! I think it's gonna be much more of what I'm looking for out of these games. Why is it your favorite? And I will absolutely play it twice!
@@clickingaming glad to hear that. I hope you get into it soon enough 😁 It’s my favorite because of the gameplay and overall level design. I just fell in love with raccoon city, and nemesis is my favorite enemy in the whole franchise. Little side note: you will have multiple nemesis encounters, and on hard difficulty, he will drop very op weapons, it’s really challenging to kill him, like harder than anything that came before, but it’s worth it. I would suggest to just enjoy the game on your first play through, but on your second play through, try killing him every time he shows up to get all of the goodies. Looking forward to seeing it 🙏🏼
Here's my full video on Resident Evil 2's B scenarios: th-cam.com/video/NK_w2fjx_HA/w-d-xo.html
Glad to see you finally got around to Claire B! And while I love the game, as it's my favorite RE game ever, I can understand some of your complaints, especially with this particular scenario. Most worthy things for Claire B for me is the 3rd floor Mr. X jumpscare, I prefer Chief Irons Claire B death over Claire A, while vice versa for Ben's death, with me preferring it in Leon A to Leon B, and Annette's Claire B death. Also Claire calling Mr. X a sucker is kinda funny. As for the scenarios I sorta understand, with 2 Remake making both A and B scenarios practically the same story, but that's one reason I'm kinda disappointed by it. They could have improved and expanded on the A and B scenarios, which was originally planned but they scrapped it. Also just curious, is the audio fine these two playthroughs around for Leon A and Claire B? Just curious
Claire B's Mr. X scare is probably the best Mr. X scare in all four scenarios, tbh. And I agree calling Mr. X a sucker is hilarious. I just wish they combined the best parts of the A and B scenarios is all. I haven't played 2 Remake yet (will do so probably after RE6) but that's a shame to hear they didn't expand upon the scenarios. If the A and B scenarios are practically the same story in RE2 Remake, then, again, why have both? Haha. And yes the audio is fixed this time! Since my save from my previous videos got deleted somehow, I emulated a PS2 version of the game instead with better audio.
Here we go
Thanks for the support as always! <3
Yes!!! Yes! Finially! I've been waiting so long for this. And I'm a Leon A Claire B kinda guy even though the canon ending is the opposite. Btw there is a funny typo in the labs triple lock door that you get with Leon entering the room. And I'm always proud of you. I have some funny resident evil shorts on my channel. Feel free to check them out if you want. Till next time! -Medic out
Haha, the typo is "I'm always proud of you?" I need to see this! And I will be checking out the shorts on your channel, thanks for letting me know! And thanks for the support as always!
Thank you for fully finishing my favorite classic resident evil game. I think you're in for a treat with resident evil 3: Nemesis. I think they learned a lot from re2. One main scenario but with different player choices to alter the story or at least it's ending. A real improvement on Mr. X with nemesis and rewards for struggling to take down nemesis. Keeping replays fresh with the game having a built in feature of randomizing item locations every time you play. I'm hopeful you'll enjoy it, but I could be wrong.
Thank you for watching and supporting! Those all sound like excellent additions tbh. I do think I'll enjoy it. Based on what I've read, 3 sounds like exactly what I'd want from classic RE. Also, what makes this one your favorite?
@clickingaming Honestly simple stuff. I just like the music the most, claire is my favorite heroine in the series. I think its the perfect beginner re. It's easier than the first game while still having a challenge. There's still the back and forth exploration without being as complex as the mansion. The zapping is system was unique and they never brought it back. I think it just stands out on its own. This game makes me question why I even like games. I mostly say it's for gameplay and that I don't care about story, character, atmosphere. I think that's mostly because I play hack and slash action games and retro fps where gameplay is put above all else. If I'm being honest it makes it tough to play other genres that offer different aspects of what makes games great. Resident evil 2 tells me i do appreciate other aspects of videogames and even a cinematic approach, just not at the sacrifice of gameplay like a lot of modern cinematic experiences try to go for. Those games led me to have a negative bias towards all open world or 3rd person cinematic games that I think isn't fair. I just can't shake the bias. It's like how I liked halo for its universe and setpieces and unique look to its weapons, and its characters but since playing doom and retro shooters sees halo's gameplay as slower and more repetitive with one optimal solution that makes playing it feel lesser. I don't know if this is natural when playing more games or more games in a genre in general. That the games we used to love turn out to be not as good as we remember or we find something we like better. I'd appreciate your insight on this topic.
I definitely agree it's easier than 1, haha. I also appreciate your insight on why you like it the most. That's a good point that it isn't as complex and you view this as a good thing. Personally I love complexity in my games, so the more the better, as long as it's within reason. It's cool that RE2 is the game you can point to that explains your love of games, too. I don't know if I have a game like that? Maybe Alan Wake 2? But that's a recent game so it's hard to say yet. Also, it's hard for me to say definitively that games we used to love turn out to be not as good. I've replayed quite a few games recently for the first time since childhood, and a few of them I remember being even better than before. Mass Effect 1-3, Jak 1 and 2, Dead Rising, etc. Dark Cloud is one that I played and thought was worse, tbh. I think it's hard to have a definitive answer on that, and it depends on the game instead!
@clickingaming It's part of the reasons I think talk of soulless remakes exist. The re2 remake doesn't really have memorable music. Mostly just ambient noise. So alongside gameplay changes and camera changes it just feels empty. The beauty of the rpds artstyle is lost when they go for a filter to just try and make everything dark. Being dark isn't what made re2 scary or a horror game. That and capcom made us pay real money if we wanted the og soundtrack which is also the only way you can get the voice at the title screen. You know when it says "Resident Evil". Based on your critiques of the scenarios I think the remake improved by having one overall scenario. The issue is B scenario and A scenario are the same story beats for the characters so if you play claire a Leon b you get the exact same story as Leon a claire b. It does remix puzzle and item locations and Mr. X shows up sooner. Other than that it seems to have suffered from the same issues you said the original had. Also personally just not a fan of the redesigns and character dialogue. That's subjective though. Maybe I just need to revist these older games I loved with an open mind for what they are. You talking about mass effect and jak and daxter reminds me I still have 100s of great games I've never played that I need to get to.
That's.... really good insight on the remake changes. It sounds similar to what people are worried about with the SH2 remake tbh. You're making me super curious to try out remake, though I won't be getting to it until much later as I'd rather play through all of the older games first. And it can be hard to approach them with an open mind at first, but if you're able to it can be super rewarding! Some games simply don't hold up, of course, but many do!
Hey, all! Please read this before commenting. I understand this game is precious to many, but understand that I did not grow up with this game and played it for the first time for these videos. I don't have the nostalgia towards it, and all I could do was be honest with my thoughts while playing. If you have comments, please share! But please be civil. Also, a mistake! Toward the video's end, I say "A game released from before I was born." When really, I meant to say "A game released from before I could play." I was 3 when RE2 came out, but the point still stands.
nuh uh
fried brain
Jak 2 just had an overall annoying gameplay. Jak 3 cleaned it up very well
I need to replay Jak 3 to comment on it, but I remember loving it as a kid!
Like souls
you're a souls
This is why I hated jak 2
I think it's excellent otherwise!
Bro that’s not a hard mission that was one a the easiest just take one of the naturally spawning cars and you good
There are no cars to take lmao that's what makes it hard
I’m a ps4 kid but we have a old ps3 and ps2 and I tried that mission and I have never beaten it.
It's also on PS4 if you ever want to try it again!
This game makes me miss my childhood.
Same here, friend
This mission is why jak 2 is my less favorite jak in the trilogy lol
Damn! It's so good otherwise!
I go with the dash roll. Catch corners get it like 2nd try everytime
It's cool that there are so many strategies for it haha
Love that game wouldn't change a thing. I hated that mission, 20 years later, it's one of my favorite challenges...it still pisses me off, though 😂 P.S. : Dont use the Jet board (hover board) that' a quick way to die on this mission. Take your time and use the Vulcan Fury (blue gun) mostly on this mission. If you run out, switch to yellow and shoot and spin. Occasionally roll jump to get farther.
It's such an excellent game but MAN are some of the missions brutal haha. They're good fun, it's the checkpoint system that's really challenging.
This mission was easy as hell what are you talking about lol
Glad you beat it easily but it's pretty common in the community to have problems with this mission.
@@clickingaming this game is almost two decades old my friend I beat this as a child get good at controlling a analog stick and pressing a button. Even children can do it lol
@treythebaked595 I beat it as a child too. Doesn't mean it isn't hard lmao.
Thank u, warrior
Oh my god I HATED playing this mission
It's bad hahah. It took me like 15 minutes to beat last night AND I'm pretty sure I just got lucky.
@@clickingaming jump spin kick for the win lol
Do you remember this mission? Do you have a harder one? Let me know! Also, you'll notice the footage getting darker as it progresses. That's because it took me so long to beat this, that the in-game day/night cycle went all the way to night.
Ha ha clown
thanks for the engagement!
Thanks for wasting 30 seconds of my life
@Mightyguybrush2 thanks for the engagement!
I don't know whats going on with Microsoft and Sony but both seems to not know what are they doing. Sony is/was buying studios they didn't needed (out of desperation) and setting deals with 3rd parties that are hurting them more than benefits them. Look what they did with Helldivers 2, they put a chokehold on the game and now is forever crippled because the game still blocked in more than 150 countries and let's not talked about what they did to Squarenix. Microsoft is buying studios left, right and center and now they don't know what to do with them and all of them are mismanaged and missing deadlines and they only did this just to get the biggest most valuable IPs possible for its game pass service that is struggling to grow. Nintendo seems the only one who gets it. They were questioned as of why they weren't buying studios. Nintendo answer was "we are not against the idea of acquiring studios, but we rather focus on hiring talented people or recently graduated students to make great games" and that, in my opinion, is the best way to do things. You hire the right people to create the best sellers of the future.

@@clickingaming the one from 128, head is too small, hands are too modelled, etc
@@heitorsant1759 It could have easily been tweaked after that demo, though.
@@clickingaming into a completely different model tho? In my opinion it's closer (if not, the exact same) to melee Mario
