Yes because in minelabs infinite engineering they mane the 9” as chatty as the 11” in the saltwater! On the dry sand it doesn’t make much difference. But as soon as all of the coils for the core hit ripples in the sand underwater they become very unstable! You have to raise the reactivity to 6 and lower the sens to a point where you can stand it! That’s in beach low conductor. If you use the surf program it helps! But I believe it lowers the KHZ which may make you loose smaller gold like clasps on naked chains. So it’s a toss up! I now use the 900 with the 6” coil for my water hunts. I can jam up the sens with a lower reactivity and the 6” coil doesn’t make a peep on ripples or contour changes in the sand! This is handy for hunting the money line where you are changing heights on every swing. Hope that kinda explains everything.

Most of the phones I find are deep! And almost all the easy cost north of palm beach is dirty water. The west coast is hit or miss on the water.

I use beach low conductor always. I pair it with the prospecting tones. I don’t care like the rest of the TH-camrs less the pirate of Miami and Savanah Harps about all the crazy tones! I just want to find it then decide based on the information the core gives me to dig or pass!

Yep, that’s exactly what it is! It depends on the wind and currents. When they show up it’s no fun getting stung water hunting.

Freshwater is a bit easier as you don’t have to deal with the salt! I am pretty sure you can use about all the programs in the core! Dont over think it ! Keep it simple! Happy hunting!

Well ……. If I plan to hit the water there is no better machine at high sens than the 900 with the 6” coil! The core does not like ripples in the sand underwater nor does it like changes in height. It falses like crazy! Now you can lower the sens but that wont help you find naked chains. Also at 53 I have allot of old injuries that like to creep up after a 6-8 hour hunt with a 11” coil! I can’t go as long with it. Now on top of it I normally hunt at least 4-5 times a week. The heavier coil really takes a toll on me! As far as a dry sand hunt I prefer the 8 or 9” coil on the core. But I think the core leaked on me again and it has been acting up so I have been using the 900 with the 6” coil. As far as missing things because of the small coil ……. I overlap allot and move out pretty quick as the newer processors can handle the speed. I don’t think I am missing much but the 6” coil on the 900 doesn’t broadcast a signal as far out as the cores 8” or 9” so I prefer the core for dry sand and wet sand when it is working properly. I pulled 350 g of mixed gold this year and about 800 grams of silver. So I am sticking to my plan. Lol. Happy hunting.

You sure don’t seem to miss anything. I am 73 and have both shoulders done twice each so I know what you mean. I use the M8 and it does well. Have you tried using Surf and Seawater whit the Manticore when in the saltwater. It stopped the false signals for me. Keep up the videos. Stay wand happy hunting.

I put it in my safe deposit box at the bank with my really good finds that will never hit TH-cam! Feel me?! Most people not in the know have no clue that high end diamonds have a serial number etched into a facet. They can be tracked and there are finders keepers laws which makes no sense as they are usually insured! And of course Rolexes and Cartier watches and so on! 😳

I don’t hunt on the weekends because I have my son every weekend and he takes priority! Where do you hunt? I travel for work Monday - Friday so basically I hunt where ever I am working that week. Unless I am stuck too far from a beach.

Well you wouldn’t believe how much shit I get over not editing out the mermaids! Women get all pissed off ! I didn’t tell them to get naked on the damn beach for everyone to see! But they don’t get it! So many people are so uptight in this country! They would have a heart attack if they got out of the safety of their little bubble and went around the world to the beaches abroad! I have see some shit that you would never be able to burn out of your mind! Lol

I love all the gold ! Sure would be nice if I could train a pig to sniff out gold so I didn’t have to dig out 1000 pieces of foil to find it! Lol
