Our adventure began in Ipoh, Malaysia, where we kicked off our journey with a scenic road trip along the East-West Highway. This route is a dream for nature enthusiasts, winding through the majestic Titiwangsa mountain range and the lush Royal Belum Rainforest. The drive alone was a spectacle, with breathtaking views, misty mountains, and the occasional wildlife sighting. It set the tone for the incredible experiences awaiting us at Perhentian Island.
We stayed at Alunan Resort, one of the highest-rated resorts on the west coast island of Peninsular Malaysia. This all-inclusive resort is known for its serene ambiance, eco-friendly initiatives, and impeccable service. From the moment we arrived, we were pampered with stunning ocean views, luxurious amenities, and a warm welcome from the staff.
The waters are teeming with marine life unique to the region, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and baby reef sharks. We were mesmerized by the thriving underwater ecosystem and the coral’s vibrant hues.
We opted to also go scuba diving with Quiver Dive Resort After a quick refresher on dive techniques, we geared up and dove into the depths to explore a sunken shipwreck. The eerie yet fascinating wreck was surrounded by schools of fish, and to our delight, we spotted a sleeping baby reef shark under the wreckage.
This underwater world felt like a different planet, with marine life dancing around us and the serenity of the ocean making it an unforgettable experience.
