@@Jim_L Artistic effect for the movie. Think of the scene when he was asleep in the hotel room, and he sees how Jim Duncan was killed. Only Jim Duncan would know that. He did not have a beard then. It wasn't a revenant. Some people thought it was his brother. The brother was not there, so he could not have that recollection. Eastwood has never explained the movie; that is his genius. Remember the last scene: Mordecai: "I never did know your name." The Drifter: "Yes you do. Take care" You then see the camera move toward the headstone of Jim Duncan. It was Jim Duncan; an honorable man.

@@Macdelcley I like your theory a lot! You do know, however, that there are many who subscribe to the idea that Jim Duncan is a ghost. So when he rides off in the distance and then vanishes, he's essentially making the case that, "My work is done here," and goes back to wherever it is ghosts go to finally be able to rest in peace. @@Jim_L I just don't believe Clint Eastwood would make a supernatural western. It is not his style. I searched for an answer to this question, and none has been offered. One explanation was it was Jim Duncan's brother, but how would his brother know how he died? The town's corrupt leaders conspired in the attempted murder, so it was a secret to the outside world. When I was a little boy, we would drive to southern California from Arizona in the summer time, and I would see what looked like water in the distance. You can see things disappear like that in that view (e.g. people walking, cars, etc.). The drifter disappearing is an optical illusion. It is caused by the heat, and it plays tricks with your vision. Eastwood is from California, so he saw things like this as well. I am certain it was Jim Duncan.

@@LauCass I wouldn’t mind having the hammer gap because I still want it to fire, but to get the cylinder free spin, would shortening the inner barrel so it’s barely touching the cylinder be a better alternative instead of removing it entirely? Because removing the inner barrel would cause the firing to have low accuracy and shorter distance, but if you just shorten it to the point it isn’t locking the cylinder, barely touching it, it should only drop the accuracy and range just a tiny bit, right? This was, we get the best of both worlds, being able to fire and free spin the cylinder. If this can be done, how do you shorten the inner barrel? I’m totally new at this and I want to do it right, so I will really appreciate the help if you can advise me on what to do.

@@atlasprime6193 I never tried to keep the revolver firing and just get the cylinder spinning freely. I think it' feasible but better than shortening the inner barrel I would try to just shorten the inner barrel spring. This spring applies the pressure of the inner barrel to avoid gaz leak in the barrel.

This is by design to trigger the CO2 valve

I have no idea if the same mod can work on the King Arms but I'm intrestead to get your feedback ;)

The size of this Umarex replica is the same than the actual SAA, except for the grips that is taller. The reason is the size of the CO2 sparclet.

I don't have any King Arms but I think that mechanical parts design is different. However I guess it could be possible to do the something similar on K.A.

It's already there. But with this modification you CAN'T shoot BB's anymore since the hammer will keep the CO2 valve opened. This modification is to transform the airgun into a demo gun. So if you want to shoot it again you must restore the original spring position on the hammer.

No, the hammer modification will keep CO2 valve opened, so it will be not possible to shoot BBs.

Hello, it depends on the gun model. I have some Denix and Kolser non firing Colt SAA replicas and the Umarex SAA is really better regarding the mechanical parts. Kolser is a bit better than Denix but the SAA model is not really good compare to a real steel, I prefer the Umarex. If you are interested in other old west gun replicas the new Kolser Navy 1851 is really good, they really improved the quality on this model and it's very close to a real steel, all parts of the gun are cloned from a Pietta 1851 black powder gun. The best non firing replicas I have are from MGC (Japan) and all models are really good. But it's hard to find them now since these replicas are from 1970's and no more produced.

Some questions regarding the Umarex: - Is the Umarex closer to the real steel and how is the hand feel of it compared to the real one and a Kolser? - Are those custom black wood grips for the Umarex because the standard grips were plastic IIRC? If so, potentially where could I buy them?

@@naajzzzHello, from my point of view the Umarex is really better than a Kolser. The purpose of the mod in the tutorial is to make it feeling like a real steel when you manipulate it. The cylinder spinning is a real pleasure after modification and it's not possible to do this with a Kolser SAA. Moreover the balance of the Umarex is really good and I love the hand feeling of the Umarex. The only one thing that is not really accurate on the Umarex is the grips size, it's higher than a real one (due to the space needed for CO2 sparklet). The black grips are not wood, I just painted the plastic grips in black on this one. You can find real wood grips for Umarex SAA (and some other old west replicas) on this web site, but it's a bit expensive: www.woodengripsandmore.de/c/holzgriffschalen/umarex-colt-saa-holzgriffschalen

Real Colt guns have 4 clicks: C.O.L.T.

Perchè questa modifica rende la replica non funzionante, c'è scritto nel video. Con questa modifica al primo "sparo" la valvola farebbe uscire tutto il co2. Così diventa più realistica ma non funzionante, anche se può essere resa funzionante nuovamente rimontando tutto come prima.

I opened it because i had to fix mine, i came to this vid a couple days ago in hope to see a dismantle, when i checked out the hammer i had to fix all the way forward it opens the valve for the Co2

@@mikeycoolx yes this mod opens the CO2 valve and you can't use it to fire anymore. The goal is to make a non firing demo gun with cylinder spinning freely. You must keep the hammer gap if you want to keep the gun firing BBs.
