    Clean job!! Congrats! But.. better avoid using a puller against the drive-shaft to pull the bearing out of its place. This way it transfers the pressure to the CV joint, the rear diff and its bearings, diff bushings, etc.. Not good... This is perhaps the best way to preserve the driveline: th-cam.com/video/r4qpp_LYJCU/w-d-xo.html

    Never trust ARB, they sell lockers of different measurements for the same product RD 208. Lost a good amount of money by way of importing it.

      I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, But it had nothing to do with my products or video ( I'm not ARB ). This specific ARB locker fit perfectly for this application and I had no problem with the measurements. Wish you a great day!

      @@CrossEdgefabrication I only wanted ARB to know how it feels when a person after taking all pains gets an ARB locker from abroad and while witnessing the installation the ring and pinion gear wouldn’t move a bit, we had our doubts took another old locker and did a comparison and we noticed that the measurements and design itself was different however the product number printed on locker showed RD 208, we were all taken aback. Infact I was eagerly waiting to install the locker and had to travel all the way from India to Dubai, got stuck in Dubai during the floods last month to get one and finally yesterday all hopes got shattered since it isn’t easy to take this back to Dubai to get it replaced. I know you have nothing to do with ARB and you would be another enthusiastic like me but just wanted people to know that all products aren’t the same. By the way your video was so great that I had watched it a countless times and I got the inspiration to get one after watching your video. However luck wasn’t on my side.

    does the new engine use the stock engine mounts or were they modified and is the new 5.7 transmission fit or did you have to inlarge the transmission tunnel and lastly did you need to modify the interior transmission lever and cover ?

    • @CrossEdgefabrication
      @CrossEdgefabrication ปีที่แล้ว

      Engine mounts - I used to 4.7 brackets and mounts. Transmission - I used the 6 gears one from the same vehicle donor. Tunnel - No changes. T-case - you will need one that came from a LC200 or modify the 4.7 one with the input shaft from a 5.7 T-case.

      unforcefully, I did filmed the rest of the project. Yes, it ended up perfect and still running. I did used the 5.7 transmission. The T-case needed to be modified or replaced with a 5.7 200 one. Yes, you need the ECU and a lot of electrical work, especially on the fuse box.

    so something that aren't correct here (doesn't mean that it wont work) but you should avoid using the screws to pull the crown gear into its seat on the diff, you should heat it up and then fit it if it doesn't go all the way on, if I'm no mistaken even ARB themselves recommend against doing that u did here

      In this locker and ring gear model, you can mount it all the way with only your hand. you can see on some of my other videos that I did heat the ring. thank you for your comment.
