Looked like to me that the wires were to short on the Bridge Pickup, especially the Blue wire. You would have to add on to it. That right there would keep me from buying Fender pickups. Any body that chinchy does not need my business.. A Thanks to you for taking the time to make the Video.

Madlove in Australia makes the most affordable true CuNiFe magnet wide range humbuckers, $150 last I looked. Others like Mojotone that use the correct bobbins use threaded Alnico 5 pole magnets and are more expensive. Curtis Novak makes one with correct big bobbins but his own secret-sauce magnets. He used to have a stash of CuNiFe magnets you could request. But they approach $300 each. The Squier paranormal Esquire is a very special treat with the true wide range pickup in the bridge. It's great with the Squier faux w. r. But a while different animal with the real thing and the 3 way switch

Try a Firebird humbucker or a mini humbucker in the neck. Install the copper plated steel backplate on the bridge pickup, find a thinner ashtray bridge plate, 11mm or so. Or get a local independent gunsmith to mill your 20mm+ thick one down. Both those things will nail your bridge tones down. Look up the original Nashville wiring diagram with 3 control pots and the 5 way switch, compare it to yours and the others you find on line, like Fralin's. Nashvilles were built to be the AK47 of Fender style guitars for studio musicians to dial in many different specific tones. They can be really great but they can also cause options paralysis, like a pedal with too many knobs.

Partscaster building is such a fun hobby, even though the one I built isn't perfect. It's got a personal and unique vibe. Can't get enough of the tone! I just posted a video with it, hooked up to an obscure seventies Italian tube amp. The clean and drive tones are awesome together.

The expense pays US workers, hopefully a living wage. I twist the wire pairs so they act way less like antennas. Often the differences between pickups are only apparent thru a cranked amp. Bandmates are good judges of tone. Don't want to get in a capacitor battle but the part of your signal that goes thru the tone cap is shunted to ground. Golden ears claim they can hear differences but the only possible thing to hear is the cap "working". Any other difference is the actual frequency cut off points along the tone pot sweep. Anyway, dont fall for capacitor hoo-doo, the number of tracks recorded with guitars that have ceramic caps is countless. If you install a treble bleed or any cap in series with your signal path, like the caps used to brighten up muddy humbuckers, then the type is important. I use CDE silver mica for the small values in treble bleeds, other folks I know have used polystyrene but it's too easy to burn those ones up with the iron.

It should be noted as I have attempted this as well, if you wouldn’t of put the pickup cover on, you would have noticed the pick up poles don’t line up, as it’s for a Pbass. Just pointing it out. • @rustyfenders101

And even if inverted, that volume pot is STILL to far away IMO...

Action on an electric always needs to be adjusted. It comes ready to adjust. Get a set of Allen wrenches and adjust on the bridge and truss rod. Unless the nut is too high, it is just turning alllen wrenches. No reason to send one back. Easy to do.

    • @hansemannluchter643
      @hansemannluchter643 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's a shame Fender abandoned the "Bullet truss-rod" and "Micro-Tilt neck adjustment", the guitars that have it are a breeze to set up. Especially being able to adjust the truss-rod with the neck under tension was good thinking. And I never had issues with the 3-bolt neck, my 72 Strat probably wasn't made on a Monday or Friday, because it IS true that Fender had some Quality Control "challenges" in the 1970's...

@@rustyfenders101 It's such a good idea that you'd think Leo Fender himself came up with it!! And maybe he actually did, because part of the sales-agreement was that Leo stayed on as a consultant, and wasn't allowed to use his own NAME!! Same goes for the "Micro-Tilt neck adjustment". What a BRILLIANT idea!! But hey, 4 bolts has to be better than 3, right? Taking off the neck to adjust the truss-rod is better than doing it under string-tension, right?? NO! I whent down the SRV/Malcolm Young-hole back in the 1980's, couldn't get the strings heavy enough.. C'mon man, a .58 low E is "heavy"?? I'm not saying you HAVE to use insanely thick strings AT ALL, but for my playing-style, it made all the difference. Now, 35 years later, I'm paying the price for those heavy strings. But they did sound GREAT back then, and I could beat them as hard as I wanted with my (right) picking-hand... But imagine the set-up nightmare if you go from ".10-.52" to ".14-.64", with a wound G-string, over 3 months? Please note that I am NOT recommending You do this. It WILL cost you down the line!

It’s weird, but in my opinion the stock pickup sounds the best for bronco designs. I’ve tried the tele bass, the guitar rail pickup, the lollar(I believe it was lollar?) bronco pickup and they all were pulling something out from the sound, not adding up 🤷🏻

Hey sound is subjective. I’m my case the Strat pickup that was in there, didn’t sit below the G string properly. So there was a big difference in volume. I tried adjusting it but there was a noticeable difference. I have never seen another bass manufacturer reusing a guitar pickup before. That and the tone and volume range was pretty much non existent. It went from 100% to %20 immediately. I also like to play reggae so I wanted a fuller tone. For 20 bucks more I can’t complain. Thank for watching!!

hey. i have a neck and body for bass and the other components. I think my split coil pickups have been pre-soldered, except there is a longer wire. I think this is for the bridge. I noticed you had similar wire but the video skipped a little. I've read it's for grounding the brudge or preventing noises, but others say it's not important. What did you do with that wire? Also, did you put anything like shield guard underneath the wiring, or can you just leave it as wood? Nice build!

Hey! Yes is the bridge ground. There should be a hole from the controls cavity that goes to the bridge. With the bridge off run the cable and pinch it by putting the bridge on. Then solder the other end to any pot so that the strings are grounded. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

No. After the application I wiped it with fretboard oil and cleaned it several times. That took any excess off. Thanks for watching!

Is that permanent or how long will the color stick?

    • @rustyfenders101

The color changes in the first few weeks as it dries. I did wiped it with fretboard oil and removed the excess a few times. The darker wood color is permanent after that. Thanks for watching!

@@rustyfenders101 great. - I once bought a guitar with dark neck. But over the time of 2 or 3 years the color evaporated completly. So it turned out beeing pao ferro. Looked like ebony first. I am wondering with what kind of color they darkend the fretboard.

Best video on this pedal that I’ve seen. I feel like I’m getting a pure sound to judge this pedal on, rather than tweaked audio. Thank you
