The Golden Age of Hollywood- Candid clips of Stars from 1930-1960
That exit was amazing, I love that.
The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) had a long history and various names, going back to 1919. But it was always headed by, controlled by and overwhelmingly populated by Democrats. It was and has always been Democrat infighting that has assumed the most violent, evil aspects. From MK-Ultra, to the KKK (a Democrat organization, the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party), the perfidy continues. But the HUAC is one of the best example of Democrat insanity. People mistakenly speak of Senator McCarthy in connection with the HUAC. Uh, SENATOR McCarthy was in the Senate, not the House, and first took office in 1947. HUAC, a name that came in 1938, had, in some form, been in existence for some almost 40 years by the time McCarthy took office. Furthermore, McCarthy was tasked to investigate communists spies in GOVERMENT, of which he found some 248, a number not only confimed by Venona Transcripts (transcripts of Russian spy communications), but Venona indicated that there were hundreds more. It is interesting and ironic but typical that it was liberals and Democrats tormenting Holllywood and other private individuals (non-government).
Dick is such a vapid blowhard, taking credit for "helping" Katharine Hepburn's career, among others. But Kate is fascinating and delightful!
Whitney died the day after Bette did oddly enough
Oh yeah he definitely had sugar in his tank
Has she arthritis of her hip or a lower back problem? Why the heck does the carpet colour matter?
She seldom lets him finish his sentence or question. Very rude.
No pangs about ANYTHING!!!!! I dont believe her.
Glad Vivienne Leigh got the part of Scarlett. Nobody could be so perfect for it as Viv. Kate was too masculine looking.
Vindictive was she?
Hes so bland
Incorrect
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Rare actress 😌
I was never on the planet the same time Bette was but regardless of that i love her & old Hollywood....todays celebs can't hold a candle to the likes of her. Oct 19th in NJ im going to a Live show about Bette w. A amazing actress playing her... can't wait
01:02:11 Sounds like today's airhead, 53 years later. Identical.
What amazing chemistry they had together. Bette Davis is a legend.
Amazing woman.
Betty Davis what a star💫
Kate sits like a dude. I guess she has to give her balls some breathing room.😅
This was a wonderful interview! It was all acting questions AND she talked about Miriam Hopkins. Olivier playing Essex would have been extraordinary. Davis and Olivier never made a film together. That would have been the one.
This is a gem ❤
I wished Cavett would have asked Hepburn about what it was like to work with Robert Mitchum in the movie Undercurrent.
An interview with greatness!
Fabulous bette smoked like a chimney and live to ripe old age loved her
Katherine you are Marvelous! God bless you wherever you are! 🫶🏼✅🌻❣️
Fantastic
KH didn’t have a television all of her adult life.
Kate is precious .... what a personality !
Bette Davis and Ruth Chatterton are my touchstones!!!!
Fabulous work ethic this woman had . Legend ❤
Dick: "How did you quit smoking?" Katharine: "I just stopped." Only she could say that and you'd believe it.
Just want to say, this has become my favorite Lofi video to have on while i work. I had originally searched for Hocus pocus lofi just on a wild whim; but i am very glad that I came across this. Thanks so much!
@@TheJokerlover94 awe that's so wonderful thanks for saying that. 🎃🥰
Love Bette Davis ! My favorites of her movies are The Little Foxes, The Letter, and All About Eve.
She was a sharp no nonsense straight talking and a great actress they dont make them like Ms Hepburn or Bette Davis anymore just a bunch of left wing divas who are not that very good at acting Demi Moore, Sharon Stone good looking eye candy but cant act for peanuts. Thank God i was born to some of the greats Clint Eastwood, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Spencer Tracy, Robert Denero , kirk Douglas, Micheal Douglas take note am struggling with women actors Jessica Lange Jane fonda Susan Surrandan. This generation the millenniums have NOTHING compared with what we had i was born at the best time the right time ❤😅
What a wonderful show to watch...I wish it would have gone on for hours and hours...I love how at ease they are with each other and the little jabs are funny to watch. And yes, I agree with Bette, Dick did look beautiful in that tux.
This is GOLD. This woman is a powerhouse. I love it!! Listen to her, she wants a table to put her feet on. She needs to sit back, feet up, easy breezy. Hardly! The guy behind lights up a cigarette. She’s directing, dictating. She’s in control. Demanding? Precise? Insane? Maybe spray the carpet blue? Don’t tell me what’s wrong, just fix it. She is Hollywood royalty. She knows her craft. Some of this “performance” is to disguise nervousness, I believe. This is her personality. She’s a bulldozer, but has the talent to back it up! You do not win 4 Oscars being a mouse. LEGEND!
Love is not about what you get it's what you give which is everything Katherine Hepburn 1907 - 2003 ❤
Wonderful actress I respected her liberal beliefs didn't agree with them all but I respected her and she had humour independence knew her own mind and had a zeal for living very much like myself. ❤️
Wow some self praise there 😂
what made her think she could sing? delusional
Interesting interview. Lots I never knew, and didn't so much care to know, but one thing was that she was considered to play Scarlett O'Hara. There's just no way I can ever picture anyone other than Vivien Leugh for that role. Definitely can't imagine Katherine Hepburn doing the role justice.
They considered pretty much every female star in Hollywood at the time for the role.
Nor me. V Leigh was perfection.
Katharine's purse! th-cam.com/video/5FeVjOhs7PY/w-d-xo.html
Feet up on the table, poor upbringing
Lol Yeah, sure.
He interviewed her again in 1977, she was very happy and chatty. About to watch this one now. I'm not sure what year this is from because it says 1971 but when asked whether Miriam Hopkins is alive, she says no but she died not till October 1972, aged 69. She also seems to mention the 1977 interview with Dick, so I am confused. What was this filmed or aired?
Good actress, unfortunately she is from a generation where men and women of that era could not express themselves about their private life.
She didnt want to. I heard her say so. Nobodys business she thought.
One of America's finest
Dick Cavett was such a gorgeous man. Wow ! Great interiew.
Beautiful video ❤ Thank you for making this and for allowing me to watch it
I come over here after looking up martin short impression
Yes, the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) was an ovewhelmingly Democrat organisation, certainly a Democrat-led committee, and was so since its earliest inception in 1919, later re-named the HUAC. So, all those liberals and air-head Hollywood types blaming Joe McCarthy should note that SENATOR Joseph McCarthy was in THE SENATE, not Congress (called "the House of Representatives). In addition, SENATOR Joseph McCarthy was first elected to the Senate in 1947, whereas the HUAC under that name was formed in 1938, but had started in 1919. So, leftists like Hepburn shouldn't be to surprised that leftist group HUAC was attacking its own. But that is the pattern with liberals and Democrats -- all crime, political infighting, suffering under bad policy is carried out and suffered by Democrats. Black-on-Black crime, welfare, fatherless homes, abortion, urban decay, poor public schools, inflation, high taxation, high crime rates, open borders, the worsening rape culture, drugs, leftist woke media -- and on and on and on...That is the world of leftists, their view of society, all leftist results. This might all be because some think we should be a democracy. But we are not. We are a republic, and right now, that is the only thing saving us. All democracies in history have devolved into violence, chaos and tyranny, as the Founding Fathers and leaders of Ancient Athens loudly predicted. There can be no laws, no rights, no freedoms, in a democracy, a society ruled by the whim and will of the majority (usually actually a select few despots controlling the majority) rather than ruled by fundamental principles of justice and freedom, concepts liberals don't like, don't understand, and won't fight for, ever.
Katherine Hepburn had a very sharp matter of fact way of speaking. She spoke as if everyone should agree with her.. Sorry to her fans I thought she was good in a few movies, the early movies when she just spoke softly as she got older her voice was , I don't know how to put it, it was wah wah.. She came from a well to do family that's what gave her the over confident. There were MUCH better actors than her.
and there were much better actors than them ...
It's the no-nonsense New England style. I like it.
