ADHD POV - What It Feels Like to Have ADHD
มุมมอง 1.1K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my attempt to show what ADHD feels like in my brain when I do basic tasks. It's often hard to hold onto a thought long enough to complete supposedly simple things. There's a near-constant stream of thoughts in the background that I learn to tune out like static. Eventually the thoughts start competing with each other to the point that I become paralyzed with indecision. Each "voice" in ...

Fuck you for getting this so right.
😂😂 thank you for this
With sorry I can say no one of the doctors in this field have found just one solution to any Patients or Psychopaths . 😢 And unfoutunately they only can put them to sleep or drug them. - If we talk Specifically On the immediate or instant treatment this is definitely 💯 impossible to find a thearapy or treatment - in the end I don't know if you are psychologist or psychiatrist or any thing related to that , but I have only one single thing I can say it to you and that thing will make all this field turn to nothing but motivational words .but I can't say it to everyone or to the public because this perhaps will cause nigative effects And I don't want you to stop here. ❤ . Even if we know that there is no solution, at least these days We stil hope to find it
I am not a medical professional, but I have personally benefitted significantly from therapy. I can confidently say there are lots of strategies that can benefit anyone. You do have to put in a lot of work, and there's no overnight fix or one-size-fits-all approach, but at least with a bit more understanding, we can all help each other. =)
@@ChatsWithKat yeah maybe we together can do it . But no one knows and for me and for my experience I realized that that field is just fake and they don't treat the patients they only can drug them or give them sleeping pills
We can't live the life or make it better if we don't search for the our goals . Must know why we are here where will go and who is the one who mad all this and why 🥺
For sure, without goals, you can't choose a meaningful direction.
Way to disarm the audience stick figure man!
Unintentional haha
Your friends haven’t abandoned you…yet lol = ) I feel like I always get to pause but then before doing anything else I just work on letting go or forcefully trying to forget what was inducing my anxiety in the first place. Even if it generally just prolongs my anxiety or rainchecks it for a different day/time it feels a least somewhat helpful in making me calm.
Yes! Waiting even a brief amount of time to act on emotions/anxiety is a great skill to practice =)
I made a worksheet to help you action on the CBT steps I described in this video. Get it here (for free in case that's not obvious): tankat.notion.site/The-Kat-Chat-CBT-Worksheet-ac716f0c69ee427aaef85ca735e0eb5d

Please smart human . Use the mind just little bit more . To find the solution of the problem of our minds we must know what is the mind and where did the thought come frome and this is impossible . And we aren't who chose this life
Just gotta do the best we can with what we have =)
Most definitely! Burn out seems to be a problem that comes and goes. Seeking different perspectives and opinions about the world and life itself has always seemed to help me rebalance. = )
Yes! I think the cycles are just part of life, and stepping outside of yourself is always a good thing to practice.
No. Real burn-out is a serious illness that does not "come and go" or that can be cured with a simple break or a vacation. Talk to an actual psychotherapist about it. Burn-out patients usually cannot even get up in the morning anymore and feel mentally dead - not exhausted or depleted: Dead. Most people mistake mental exhaustion, stress or a state of being over-worked with burn-out. It takes a long time to heal and recover from real burn-out and most cannot go through that process alone but need professional help for it.
your videos are getting better and better
Thank you Jackson! I really appreciate it =)

This was short, simple and sweet!! Honestly gave me a lot more clarity and actionable steps to do than just theory, which is really refreshing! Helps to not overthink something so much hhahaa
If there is a reason for your existence, then there must be a God who created you and cares about you and about how you behave. It seems to me that if we want to seek our purpose, we must seek God.
Unpacked and tuned my guitar. (Been unwell, now on the mend, one step after the other. ) I also opened and decided to postpone action on the incoming mail. No math for me til my fever goes away entirely.
🌟 Oh no, hope you're feeling better! Great progress--it's all about the little steps.
Is it bad that the only thing I focus on is how clean this is compared to my apartment?
I definitely cleaned (aka shoved things out of frame) before filming xD

i like u kat will u marry me?
I have a simplified version of Ikigai: What you love = the thing that gives you energy in life. What society needs = your ability to build value. The other 2: "What you're good at" and "What you can be paid for" are actually redundant I think. Because you're constantly learning and growing, constantly developing new skillsets. And as long as you can build value for others, you can be paid. Therefore, you can shorten the formula to: The greatest source of energy you can find should be your ability to build value.
I like that! That simplifies it even further.
Platinum star. Finished a brain numbing PowerPoint for work. Glad I sat on watching this video for a while, this was a good substitute to actually coworking with you. Also feel like you missed the opportunity to say: "Just eat one frog leg"
🌟 Yay nice! Lol I didn't feel like figuring out how to draw a frog 😅
That intro is soooo good, the sound effects, music, how it is a loop. Love an oven shot. Something something Matt D'avella.
Thank you!! I love Matt D'Avella's aesthetic.

I realized that I have an ADHD-like brain when I was in my early 50's and then SO much made sense! Now I consider it one of my Super Powers. I love this video and I'm so happy to see you here on TH-cam!
Yes, so so many quirks or "weird" habits make sense now. I'm grateful that I figured it out in my 20's rather than later, but I'm still learning how to manage everything as an adult. Hoping to get to that point soon as well. Thanks so much Lisa!
Love the concept of this video. We need more.
Also two random thoughts 1. We have the same water filter 2. Does that iRobot guy get any use? We have one and it collects dust and sadly it cant clean itself.
Thanks for watching! Haha yeah it's a Eufy and I love it. It completely takes away the mental energy needed to vacuum/sweep. You can schedule runs and you don't have to clean it often.
ADHD brain be like: Whenever I need to focus on something, I remember i need to fix something else 😅
Seriously, every time.
Wow.I understand ADHD a bit more now. Thank you!
Glad you found this helpful!
Thanks for this :). I get my assessment soon, I’m 35, wish I’d had it sooner…
It's so unfortunate people have to go so long completely unaware due to lack of education/awareness. Hope your assessment goes well and improves things for you!
in the middle of all that I'd run into my room to google a question or check a price on Amazon because I forgot to do it earlier and need to do it before I go shopping and I know I'll forget again...and I trip over the vacuum that I forgot to put away...but I need to feed the dog and change her water... I'm so thirsty and I don't think I even brushed my teeth yet...I have so much to do and my dishes are still in the sink from last night...gawd my poor roommates...I'd better take garbage out but maybe I should clean the fridge 1st because more dishes in there..but I'm so stressed...I need to play solitaire to decompress or recharge and I need to do some laundry before I can go out...where are my car keys??
I would've added running through different rooms but my apartment wasn't clean enough to film all that. Maybe the next one 😅
Good video! I have ADHD too and this is very relatable. When I do tasks I always get distracted by my own thoughts and I lose focus on the task I am supposed to be doing. However, with ADHD medication it's not that challenging to do tasks. When I take medication its easier to direct my focus on what I'm supposed to be doing, whereas without medication it's like my focus is everywhere like in the video. Feels like I have a inner voice I can't seem to shut off, and my focus is directed towards my inner voice so much that I lose track off what's happening or being said sometimes. If I force myself to read it's like im talking to myself in my head saying: "ok now u are reading, ok concentrate, ok i understand, I see.." and when I finish the page I realise that I have no clue what I read because I was constantly talking to myself haha, does that make sense to you? So anyways, this video is very relatable to how I feel inside my head when i'm off medication. I began with ritalin 20mg twice a day, but I stopped doing it because I got anxiety from it. I have now been taking vyvanse 50-70mg for 2 years, but I'm thinking about stopping with that as well. I am more focused and productive during the days on vyvanse, but the side effects off vyvanse makes me feel emotional numb, like a robot. It's like I can't laugh genuinely even if I find something funny or I can't cry even if i'm really sad.. So vyvanse and ritalin is great for being productive, but it's uncomfortable in social settings for me. But when I don't take medication I feel very much like you do in the video, a near-constant stream of thoughts that's distracting me from what I want to be focusing on or should be focusing on. The only reason I have not stopped with the medication is because I'm a student and I have a lot of reading to do. Do you take any ADHD medication? How do you feel about it? Thanks for the video! 😊
Thanks for sharing--that does all make sense! For me, reading depends. I find it easier to read when I'm already doing something else even more boring, like eating, sitting on public transportation, or trying to go to bed. I also try to race myself, like "let's see how much I can read in 5 minutes before I have to go somewhere else" to make it feel more exciting. Sorry to hear about your side effects with medication. I'm not a medical professional, but Vyvanse typically has different dosages, so maybe you could try lowering it depending on what your doctor suggests? I've also heard of people taking two separate low doses per day to even the effects out more. I'm inconsistent with medication but I try to keep it low dose and use a variety of creative non-medication strategies to avoid the robot side effects.
I don't claim in any way that this is fully representative of all people with ADHD, just how I personally experience it. Check out the description if you're confused, and let me know if this is relatable or not. Thanks for watching! =)
I get like this most mornings 😅 it kinda settles down a bit though once I get on a set task. Sometimes it comes back during the boring stuff, it’s like daydreaming and a need to procrastinate and follow up on whatever I get caught up thinking about. If somethings really boring and requires focus I feel physically sick with anxiety trying to do it. At least I’m never bored…right? Normal tasks take ages tho. Lots of things have a sound effect too, used to make them out loud when I was small 😂
@@danh8245 The sound effect thing is interesting. I also make sound effects sometimes as a way to make silence more stimulating probably. Anxiety is so tough but I hope you can find ways to manage it. Thanks for sharing!
