ADHD POV - What It Feels Like to Have ADHD

This is my attempt to show what ADHD feels like in my brain when I do basic tasks. It's often hard to hold onto a thought long enough to complete supposedly simple things. With sorry I can say no one of the doctors in this field have found just one solution to any Patients or Psychopaths . 😢 And unfoutunately they only can put them to sleep or drug them. - If we talk Specifically On the immediate or instant treatment this is definitely 💯 impossible to find a thearapy or treatment - in the end I don't know if you are psychologist or psychiatrist or any thing related to that , but I have only one single thing I can say it to you and that thing will make all this field turn to nothing but motivational words .but I can't say it to everyone or to the public because this perhaps will cause nigative effects And I don't want you to stop here. ❤ . Even if we know that there is no solution, at least these days We stil hope to find it

      No. Real burn-out is a serious illness that does not "come and go" or that can be cured with a simple break or a vacation. Talk to an actual psychotherapist about it. Burn-out patients usually cannot even get up in the morning anymore and feel mentally dead - not exhausted or depleted: Dead. Most people mistake mental exhaustion, stress or a state of being over-worked with burn-out. It takes a long time to heal and recover from real burn-out and most cannot go through that process alone but need professional help for it.

    I have a simplified version of Ikigai: What you love = the thing that gives you energy in life. What society needs = your ability to build value. The other 2: "What you're good at" and "What you can be paid for" are actually redundant I think. Because you're constantly learning and growing, constantly developing new skillsets. And as long as you can build value for others, you can be paid. Therefore, you can shorten the formula to: The greatest source of energy you can find should be your ability to build value.

    Good video! I have ADHD too and this is very relatable. When I do tasks I always get distracted by my own thoughts and I lose focus on the task I am supposed to be doing. However, with ADHD medication it's not that challenging to do tasks. When I take medication its easier to direct my focus on what I'm supposed to be doing, whereas without medication it's like my focus is everywhere like in the video. Feels like I have a inner voice I can't seem to shut off, and my focus is directed towards my inner voice so much that I lose track off what's happening or being said sometimes. If I force myself to read it's like im talking to myself in my head saying: "ok now u are reading, ok concentrate, ok i understand, I see.." and when I finish the page I realise that I have no clue what I read because I was constantly talking to myself haha, does that make sense to you? So anyways, this video is very relatable to how I feel inside my head when i'm off medication. I began with ritalin 20mg twice a day, but I stopped doing it because I got anxiety from it. I have now been taking vyvanse 50-70mg for 2 years, but I'm thinking about stopping with that as well. I am more focused and productive during the days on vyvanse, but the side effects off vyvanse makes me feel emotional numb, like a robot. It's like I can't laugh genuinely even if I find something funny or I can't cry even if i'm really sad.. So vyvanse and ritalin is great for being productive, but it's uncomfortable in social settings for me. But when I don't take medication I feel very much like you do in the video, a near-constant stream of thoughts that's distracting me from what I want to be focusing on or should be focusing on. The only reason I have not stopped with the medication is because I'm a student and I have a lot of reading to do. Do you take any ADHD medication? How do you feel about it? Thanks for the video! 😊

    • @ChatsWithKat
      @ChatsWithKat 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing--that does all make sense! For me, reading depends. I find it easier to read when I'm already doing something else even more boring, like eating, sitting on public transportation, or trying to go to bed. I also try to race myself, like "let's see how much I can read in 5 minutes before I have to go somewhere else" to make it feel more exciting. Sorry to hear about your side effects with medication. I'm not a medical professional, but Vyvanse typically has different dosages, so maybe you could try lowering it depending on what your doctor suggests? I've also heard of people taking two separate low doses per day to even the effects out more. I'm inconsistent with medication but I try to keep it low dose and use a variety of creative non-medication strategies to avoid the robot side effects.

      I get like this most mornings 😅 it kinda settles down a bit though once I get on a set task. Sometimes it comes back during the boring stuff, it’s like daydreaming and a need to procrastinate and follow up on whatever I get caught up thinking about. If somethings really boring and requires focus I feel physically sick with anxiety trying to do it. At least I’m never bored…right? Normal tasks take ages tho.
