    Really enjoyed this! I’ve only been climbing a few months and am working on V1-V2 still, so a video like this is really inspiring. It’s nice to see someone working on a few of the lower grades and demonstrating smooth technique, plus pushing to your limit on V4-V5. Especially appreciated the perseverance on the hand-hold one and the rope swing! Great job!

      Thanks Joanne! What a lovely comment. I spent a good amount of time on V2 before moving up to V3 and 4. Taking a beginners course and climbing with friends are both great ways to push through those earlier levels in my experience. Also climbing at least once a week!

  • @lindevh6984

    Great job! Something I've learnt and would recommend is that you spend at least 3 seconds looking at your feet, when you place them, and confirming that they're solid before looking back at your hands. You don't have to do that all the time, but maybe every second boulder or ones that you feel uncomfortable on. (I do this on rope, because my fear of heights makes me focus too much on my hands, but I think it work well on boulders too.)

    • @FusionAdam

      Yeah that's something I've been trying to work on a lot. Cheers Linde.

    No clue why this was in my recommended but the algorithm really wanted me to see this Ig. Really cool vid for a beginner climber/youtuber. You look good on the wall so thanks for sharing. I'll say this-- your movement @11:50 looks really solid, and I think if you used similar movement on the orange @8:00 you could have preserved more energy for the harder climbs. Good work overall though, keep it up man

  • @luxlucetq
    @luxlucetq ปีที่แล้ว

    Your movements look rather rigid sometimes. The stabby placement of the feet for example. Try to relax your limbs to allow them move more freely, eyes on hold where a limb goes until it’s completely placed before looking away as well. A bit more technique could help too. Again, try to relax, breathe and go on. Regardless, don’t forget to have a lot of fun and also, great session!

    • @FusionAdam
      @FusionAdam ปีที่แล้ว

      It was supposed to be! But at the time I had alltrails and didn't download the map offline so ended up making a wrong turn and back to Edale. It took so long with filming we didn't even notice. Funnily enough we just did this route again (properly) last week so that video should be out soon.

    • @scoobysienna

      @@FusionAdam sorry mate im not judging you at all, i just thought i had gone wrong way...so this is kinder scout, as im going again tomz with a friend and dont want to look stupid if it is the knoll then fair enough..i only had a map from the cafe in edale and weather was so bad, mist and rain?

      @FusionAdam ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scoobysienna oh no haha I didn't take it badly. Just over-explaining! There's a link to this route on alltrails in the video description that you can use. Basically when you get to the top of the rock scrambling part, we turned left instead of going forward.

    • @scoobysienna
      @scoobysienna ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FusionAdam i use komoot, do you mean, when you get to the fork you climb up incline to the top or when you gt to the fork go straight on and miss the climb?.because i went up that part , as map said to do so..i must admit at the top it said to miss the path to the left and go forward which i did but there is not really a path or signs lol is there.so i got lost for abit in the boggy area.i also met a german guy who did the same thing.so we stayed to together as the weather was bad..we eventually went back to the path and caught jacobs ladder on the decent..not sure if this was the correct way..it was my ist time haha

    • @FusionAdam
      @FusionAdam ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scoobysienna Yeah so when you get to the kind of plateu where a lot of people sit after the rock scrambling part, there's a sharp left turn which takes you up to what looks like a higher peak. To get to Kinder Scout, you have to continue onwards at the top. Funnily enough, Kinder Scout itself is super underwhelming, it's in the middle of a grassy field and not worth it. Whereas Kinder Low and Kinder Downfall are far more impressive. Best of luck!

    Nice video, the main thing I noticed watching this video is that you need to learn to trust your feet. It looks like you're trying to pull your way through every climb and your feet will actually be much more secure when you've got weight driven through them. Something that will help with this will be investing in a pair of your own shoes instead of using rentals and you want a comfortable pair that's tight enough that you can't walk home in them but not so tight you need to ice your toes. You're doing great though after only a few visits, keep it up!

      @FusionAdam 2 ปีที่แล้ว
