Did you use actual LS headers? Or make them from scratch?
@@kevinhew5014 they're scratch built
I had a question do they make superchargers or this tundra… what a beautiful truck can’t wait to get me mine probably at 2005 four-door so later my kids can have it and I’ll give me a diesel
@@ronsonkawewehi7985 there is a few supercharger options out there but they're really expensive
How did you get boomslang to make you a harness and I turboed mine but I can’t seem to get more than 4 on mine with stock injectors and fuel pump before the truck like bogs down
@NATHANKRUGER-qu9uq I contacted boomslang and ask them if they can make me an adapter harness. I have my haltech and boomslang adapter for sale if you're interested?
@@jeffhardman2229 how much because I’m on a tight budget but I could have 1,000 by like September 17th
@@jeffhardman2229 and is the connectors the same as an 2001 because i have fly by wire throttle control
@NATHANKRUGER-qu9uq I'll double check. my current boomslang harness is not set up for electric throttle body, it's setup for a cable throttle body along with the ECU
@@jeffhardman2229 how much for just the ecu
I have a 2018 4.7L with 34k miles (I'm in my company truck through thr week). I'm wanting to pep it up while still being a daily driver, little hauling and still reliable. What do you recommend? What should I not do?
@@jeffnarum1373 long tube headers, full exhaust, and cold air intake. But if you want noticeable difference you're going to need to do Force induction. Like a supercharger or Turbo
amigo, se ve super chingon, en cuanto te costo ponerle ese tubor. ? sabes si puedo instalarselo a una 3rz del 95 ?
Hey I’m looking to turbo my tundra but for fun reasons but have a lot of miles is it worth it
There's always the risk of blowing the motor so why not enjoy the car why you can. 😉
Do you know what Inter cooler are you running?
I bought a core and made the intercooler
How much boost? Ive always heard these rods in the 2uzfe were weak and could only handle 6-7psi. Ive got a 4.7 4runner and would love to add some power to it but doesnt seem worth it with the limited aftermarket and lack of tuning available.
Daily 7 psi tuned to handle 10 psi. I was going to push it harder but I built it for towing not for racing
@@jeffhardman2229How is it possible to run 10psi?
@@ImperatorCaesar22 tuning is everything. Don't believe everything you hear on the internet. Just because someone said you can only run 6-7 PSI doesn't make it true
@ImperatorCaesar22 the more boost you push the higher the risk of the motor blowing
@@jeffhardman2229 Yeah I hear that trope about 5-6 PSI boost, or sometimes 7-8 psi max, etc on the internet, always varying, but then I’ll see someone run 8-10 PSI like in your case, which proves them wrong. How did you manage to tune it to safely run 10PSI? And what do you mean you daily 7psi - can you change the fuel map on the fly? I would love to learn how you did this. I’m thinking about supercharging but increasingly, it almost seems like a turbo would be cheaper. My only concern is there’s more lag
Question what size Turbo is that I am thinking about doing the same to mine.
Gt3582
hey i have the same truck and my goal is to get a turbo just like this do u need a custom manifold for it to handle
My turbo kit is all custom. There's limited options on the market
All that matters is, that thing is fun!
what's up friend ! Did you do any work on the computer or is it stock?
I replaced the factory ECU with haltech and a jumper harness
Are you on stock ecu/tune?
im using a haltech ecu
Did u fine tune with efi live or hp tuner?
It was street tuned on haltech
Hey bro I have a 01 taco wit the 2.7l 4banger , u think the engine can handle 300hp?
Yes, with tuning you could get more
@@jeffhardman2229 🤝
@@jeffhardman2229if the 2jz-gte can handle 2000hp becuz it has a cast iron block, is it the same with the 4cylinders?
Hey man, is it possible to install the turbo you have in a first gen Toyota Sequoia. They both have the same exact engine so i was wondering if its possible to put a turbo in my Toyota Sequoia first gen.
Yes, clearance might be a little different but that's it
What are u running for fuel system?
330cc injectors, and 255 fuel pump
Did you have any problems with misfire codes under wot at all?
None. I tighten up the gap on the spark plugs to help avoid that problem
Mint
Beautiful example Tacoma
A lot nicer than mine I have one same color single cab used for lawn maintenance for ten years body panels every one is damaged only paid 750 though
What do you estimate you have in the turbo mod all inclusive? Looks like it is going to be a handfull but fun fun fun
$1800-$2000
Hey man could you do a full parts list??
I'll see what I can do
@@jeffhardman2229 Please man 🙏🙏 want to do this so bad on my 4runner
@@RoamNReel the difficult part is most of the stuff is handmade you can't just buy it off the shelf
What ecu? did you get it tuned?
@@RoamNReel haltech, and then I had a custom-made jumper harness made by boomslang
Price to fill a gas tank
probably around 70-80$
i wana see better MPG
This is not the way to do it. I'm only getting 9 mpg
did you ever dyno this?
No, we only Street Tuned it up to 10 PSI.
@@jeffhardman2229 ok thanks for the reply, clean build though bud
I bet that thing would spin my little tacoma with ported intake manifold and cold air spins all of second gear on the stock donut wheels lol
Still have ac?
No ac
I wonder where did you get that front metal bumper?

Do you have any links to turbo oil drain lines or radiator hoses? I read that one guy used rx-8 injectors with around 420cc and they seemed to work great and weren’t too expensive for a set of 8. Hopefully it’s not too much of an ask for a video further explaining how you put everything together. Granted it’s been a while since you did it, it would be extremely helpful for people like myself who want to take on the project as well and I’m just hoping to learn more about your build. It’s so sick
I get this question a lot. I'll make another video and explain things more in detail
@@jeffhardman2229 Looking forward to watching! 🙌
@@jeffhardman2229you never posted it 😢

Do you have a build list? Did you type up anything on any forums? I have a 2006 4Runner with the 4.7, and I'm planning on building my own custom turbo kit. I'm getting doug thorley shorty headers first so I can handle the boost bc my headers are cracked. How did you wire all the gauges up? Do you still daily drive it? Thanks again for turning comments on. I love the sound and the build. So awesome!
Sorry I don't have a parts list but I'll try to make one for you. I drilled through the top of my Dash to wire the gauges behind the stereo system. I still drive the truck every day and was tuned on 10 psi with a haltech ECU but I pulled it back to 7 PSI
@@jeffhardman2229 How much did it cost for everything? Where'd you source the intercooler piping? Did you install all by yourself?
@ethanknight2046 everything is custome made. I purchased the intercooler piping from ebay, the intercooler core from mishimoto. $2000+ for the turbo kit, $2200 for the haltech ecu and harness. A friend and I installed
@@jeffhardman2229 Woah- definitely more than I had expected. Guess I'll have to save a lot more until I get that done haha
@@ethanknight2046 there's cheaper options but they're less reliable. You could Source everything on eBay to save money but you get what you get and you'll still have to do some fabrication work
Please turn on comments for the tundra videos I have so many questions 😢
Fixed
Do you have to do the ac delete ?
No but it makes it easier
Hi i how torbu
Did you have any issues with the truck shutting off after high rpm’s after turbocharging? Also, where is the vacuum line on the BOV connected to?
Yes, with out tuning the injectors will dump a lot of fuel which makes the engine die or almost die after getting into boost or high rpm. The bov is T into the throttle body
@RMR_Will standalone. I went with a haltech ecu
@@RMR_Will you can try moving the maf sensor before the throttle body.
Ah okay, I may just say screw it and get the standalone. Everything is pointing in that direction 😅
I see your still on here answering comments. I have a question. I have the same truck with the 2.4l. I also have a t3/t4 hybrid turbo [not Ebay turbo] intercooled setup, and I would like to ask if you have a part number for those injectors? I've got the boost dialed back to 9psi due to the stock fuel setup. Also, can you tell me more about the tune, as in are you using a stand alone unit or ??? To add, I've had the turbo on the truck now for about 12 years with no issues [with the boost at 9psi].
I'm running stock injectors, I was going to run a haltech 1500 but never got the chance to run it
Stock ecu no tune
Did u upgrade fuel injectors ?
fuel system is stock
Wtf my n/a 2rz Tacoma will pull that hard 😂. Something ain’t right here bro.
I have a 06 DC 4x4 tundra mine is also blue steel metallic why'd you turn comments off for your truck I would love to do the same thing with mine after I'm done using it as a daily driver .
Could I please know what exactly you have done to the supercharged tundra
We did this same ish setup, our maf is blow through though. It doesn't want to handle any boost, chills around 14.0 under boost. You using stock injectors?
Yes, but the stock injectors in the 01-04 are bigger than the older taco. Try moving the maf in front of the throttle body instead of the turbo
Trying that tomorrow, thx 🙏
I have a 99 Tacoma right now, wanting to turbo it. Currently have the 2.7l but was told a 2.4 are better for turbo swaps. What’s your take on that?
In my opinion the 2.7 is the better option
@@jeffhardman2229 I bought a sbc 350 but after doing some research it won’t fit without a lot of modification so I’m looking toward the turbo swap.
Make sure you do some type of tuning otherwise that engine won't last long-term
@@jeffhardman2229 10-4. Thanks for the info man. I appreciate it.
Where did you run your blow off valve vacuum tube
th-cam.com/video/E5I6FsQ8Sgs/w-d-xo.html It shows the big vacuum line on the throttle body at 5:25 mins.
Where did you run it into the intake
Bc I’m building one and it’s almost done just can figure out we’re to run the blow off valve line into the intake
Could you text me some info on my number?
I didn't run it to the intake, i only ran it to the vacuum side of the throttle body
I’m literally doing the exact same thing to my Tacoma
Did you need an oil pressure regulator for this build?
No, the oil pressure is fine. The fuel will need a pressure regulator though
Still have this thing bud sick truck
Thanks, I know longer have the Tacoma but I have the 1st Gen tundra with a turbo now
Can I get more information where you buy the turbo ?? For my 2003 Toyota Tacoma
Ebay, it's a gt35 knock off
I have the 1999 tacoma I want the turbo kit for it but mines automatic
thats okay. i have a 04 tundra turbo using the auto trans and its still fun to drive
What computer did u use?
