    Did you loose much coolant when you discovered the leak? My son has the same car. And a lot of coolant is disappearing. But no coolant on the ground.

    Question ? Why you use the two little holes in the tensioner? There is a 8mm Allen key hole there

      This type of engine can have oil consumption because bad piston rings. In my case on 3000km 1l of oil, i put TOTAL, CASTROLL, SHELL 10w-40, but in every case same problem.

  • @davesmith6128

    You skipped some major steps in the initial part!! Why didn't you include the bumper removal, the crash bar removal, where the bolts are to disconnect the front carrier!!! Pretty useless without the whole procedure

    27 nm for the tensioner roller is too much. I stripped the nut so i just hand tightened it

    Leak is caused by a combination of the o-ring becoming flattened as well as the center part of the flange eroding away from the heat over time.

    I need to replace bushings on my A6 3.0 TDI from 2012. Did you order the bushings from the Audi dealership? (I prefer original parts). Audi wants to sell me original control arms (obviously), but only the bushings needs to be replaced. Thanks for recording and sharing the video.

    I got the same engine, but on the Audi A4 b6 . It started recently to “drink” oil . A lot. Should I rebuild the engine? I think my piston rings are “gone” 400 ml every 100 km. If it would be 1 L for 1000 km, I wouldn’t mind, but every time I’m going for a loner trip, I’m filling about 2 L of oil :/ . Advice me please! Instagram : the_duardo Email: teddybobu98@gmail.com

    • @dadbod8851
      @dadbod8851 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Duardo B thanks for the message! The only thing I’d suggest doing is making sure you don’t have any oil leaks anywhere! Sometimes it can be subtle. Have you done an engine compression test? Also, are you getting any black exhaust fumes? Rebuilding an engine is a HUGE job. I’d make the right diagnosis and see if there are any temporary fixes, and then get rid of it if able.

    • @dadbod8851

      Valentin Florian Yes, it does. I use either 5W-30 or 5W-40. The latter burns less oil.

      Block breather valve at AIR intake Pipe side with silicon seal and make shure that litle vacum tube is good. That solved mi problem with oil consumption. Befor vas 1L/1000KM now ITs 0.7L/7000KM.
