What an uncomfortable moment for Paul. Maybe he earned it? Maybe he didn't. Ive worked for some very focused musicians. You learn that's who they are and you play your best to live up to their expectations. So they call you back next year. George bringing both Billie P. and Eric Clapton to the studio was brilliant, indeed. I put side two of Abbey Road last night and heard Clapton licks in many places, here and there. What a delight! George was the boy. The twenty year-old shy boy who was mobbed in New York. George with clever quips in a Hard Days Night, as good as John's. George, the master of Carl Perkins style guitar -- no other living rock guitar player of his era played that stuff. They Lennon McCartney thing was so strong, I think the mindset was George will carry on, he's got his two songs, and his percentage, he will carry on -- until 1967 or '68. Was it meditation that gave George a big picture view? Or was it the numbing effect of success and money that effected the two senior members? I love my wife with an indescribable verve that started long ago and has grown through life, but I've taken her for granted on several occasions, sadly. We humans go tend towards contempt with greater familiarity. About George Harrison and what he was feeling, we have his songs, and his video memoirs, but he was not the type to write an autobiography. And why are we still so interested in what happened between a band and their lead guitar player almost 60 years ago? That there is a story in itself. 🇺🇲🧙🏽♂️
Where have you been all my life with your intelligent, and interesting story telling about the greatest RR band, ever? Ladies and Gentlemen, here they are, The Beatles. You have a new subscriber. This is the best channel I've heard talking about The Beatles that I've heard on TH-cam, in many years. I mean, I was there in 2005. I didn't watch a lot of TH-cam then, but I do now in my old age and disability. Thank you. I hope this level of interest and quality is embedded in all of your videos. Btw, I have a crush on Marilyn and Audrey, too. Marilyn, in her twenties was the most beautiful and alluring woman on film. And what a basket case -- isn't it always like that? It's like the old joke -- why do men pay women to come over and have sex? The answer be: they don't pay them to come over. They pay them to leave, afterwards. 🇺🇲🧙🏽♂️
Watching the long documentary about these recording sessions… all the Beatles upped their game when Preston showed up and the music finally came together.

You left out the 2 strangest ones. In the movie HOW I WON THE WAR John gets shot, looks at the camera and says "I knew this would happen" Also, in the movie HELP! The scientist shoots at John but the gun jams.
Thanks. I wanted to restrict this one to John's own words...
@@TheBeatlesWoW Cool, but I think its more fascinating that even events AROUND him were pointing at that end.
Just a series of clips I put together from various interviews
What is this from?
That concluding “fitting credit to a man who owed so much to The Beatles’ legacy” has the debt the wrong way around and should, surely, be something like “fitting credit to a man who gave so much to The Beatles’ legacy” or even “fitting credit to a man who is owed so much for his contribution to The Beatles’ legacy”.
La cara de McCartney cuando Preston me las techas ....❤
No. That having said I must admit that the 'folky' Rubber Soul unintentionally was a very good idea and I also like Capitol's idea to put together all of 1967's singles and MMT-EP into the Magical Mystery Tour album.
The Narrator thinks himself to be prety important: 80% him, just 20% of what's realy important
Upsetting how nobody seems to realize it was George who approached Yoko about the possibility using unfinished demos from John to have a definitive reunion with all four Beatles playing together again. It was after the passing of Roy Orbison that George and Jeff had talked about how the only voice who could replace his was Elvis, and word got back to George about the possibility of playing and singing with Elvis through unheard isolated recordings. Obviously this was never likely to have happened but it did open George’s mind to the possibility of having The Beatles reunite with John in the same way. Keep in mind as well that it was George who invited Paul and Ringo to reunite on “All those years ago” as a tribute to John. George wasn’t against the 3 of them playing together. Not everything is so black and white. He was against the idea of the 3 of them going out as ‘The Beatles’, which the media relentlessly begged and pressured them to do for years with Julian or Sean in Johns place. George was 100% justified to dismiss any suggestion of this scenario. Paul and Ringo were equally against this idea and had also often stated that it would never happen because they weren’t The Beatles without John.
"Get Back" was a fun song that showed The Beatles still had control of that powerful rhythm that drove like a fast freight train. "Let It Be" was mournful and awful.
The Beatles did their fair share of shite too , and I’m a huge fan of theirs.
TRUST RINGO TO GIVE THE BEST AND RELEVANT RESPONSE TO ELVISES BEHAVIOUR.
The Beatles admired Elvis Presley both as a band and individually and he had to admire them, but not that much. George and Ringo were disappointed about Elvis but John and Paul tolerated the issue better...
Wow, that recording of John ripping on Paul is very revealing…it confirms what I have thought for many years that actually the leader of the Beatles has always Been PM..and for the sake of Beatles lore And fandom, Paul allowed the Faust narrative that John was the leader of the group, Paul let John think he was the leader…for getting along sake…. The fandom has said that History was changed when Paul met John to start the beginning of the Beatles, but actually Paul met George In.School years before he met John so the coming together of the Fab 4 started with Paul and George. And to add to that..it was Paul who sought out John. These are Facts that can’t be refuted, Now add the recording of John opening up on Paul about his songs and arrangements always taking precedence over any of the other Beatles input really confirms that. Then I will also add this to the buffet, in the early years of John and Paul’s history..Paul was actually giving John Lennon guitar lessons..with all of this info, one can only conclude that PM was actually the Man.
Dr. Lecter... Dr. Lecter...
Billy added a spark, a shot in the arm they desperately needed! You'll notice the whole entire recording process changed immediately when Billy cut into these songs on the electric piano. Like I've stated on my video about this over 2 years ago he saved the Get Back album.
I will be the voice of dissent here, and say that this should have been a single album. Just like the old days, it would have had 14 songs. And the only songs that should have been released are ones the at included at least three of the Beatles playing on the track. My version of the White Album: Side 1 1. Back In The USSR 2. Dear Prudence 3. Obla Di, Obla Da 4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 5. Happiness Is A Warm Gun 6. Mother Natures Son 7. Don’t Pass Me By Side 2 1. Yer Blues 2.Savoy Truffle 3. Birthday 4. Everybody’s Got Something To Hide 5. Long, Long , Long 6. Cry Baby, Cry 7. Helter Skelter ( with “I’ve got blisters on my fingers “! ending
They should have performed "Rain" instead - much less harmonies.
It was jettisoning All Things Must Pass in favor of I've got a Feeling
When the official Beatles stuff has been released over the years, I would watch it… Watch it again… Watch it again… etc. With Beatles ‘64, I watched it and then I watched it again by just fast-forwarding to the cleaned-up live performances.
It’s interesting to see the level at which people will analyze (after the fact) what was going on in peoples’ heads. I suppose it makes for interesting fantasy - and clicks, but in the end even the Beatles couldn’t equally interpret what was said or done. It was simply human reaction to discourse that produced what they produced. Analyzing at this level might be entertaining for some, but I’d much rather listen to their music.
I made something Beatles related. To see it simply just type in the following title above….Beatles sketch with snippets
You should look toward your audience.
release a 24bit audio blu ray. streaming is too compressed... and add the original version!
I need the whole of the Washington Concert in the new restored footage they should bring out a Blu ray of The Beatles first US visit with the whole Washington concert on it.
I wanted more footage of The Beatles in this new documentary.
Sorry to say '64 was a bore.
Disney wants to reflect an excited America, and are using the arrival of the Beatles to do that. 15 minutes of actual Beatles footage in a 105 min program? That's cutting the cocaine pretty thin for the street don't ya think?
They pretty much 'Taylor Swifted' everything and anybody in music back in 1964.
😂 I agree completely. “The Swiftles” would’ve been a bit of a crappy name though.
My take is I wish 'Isn't it a pity' or 'all things must pass' would have had the beatles touch and made abby road or let it be. Instead we we got 'the long winding road' such a boring song.
They wanted to make a historical film instead of just showing footage. The new one has more historical feeling to it and does a deeper dive into what happened in those 14 days
I just don't get why Apple didn't sanction more of the Maysles' footage for use in Beatles 64, instead of all those interviews. Surely THIS was the right time for it all to be cleaned up and released.
Simple answer The Beatles cash cow has More milk to give ~ $$$$$ ~ This all means nothing ~ 17 minutes don’t bore me into a subscription of Disney again for this ~ Did you see George’s wife bet you if George was still alive he would have never showed up ~
Exactly
WOW! I really enjoyed this video! And it inspired a thought lol, the differences between Nick Venet and Dave Dexter Jr. Why did one go with a completely new sound of mixing Harmonies and Rock and Roll and go with it! and the other not see the Beatles song potential? Both Capital guys but one saying "ok lets go with this surf rock sound".
I can't understand why I me mine wasn't recognized immediately as a sure hit.
Contrary to popular belief Paul didn't really love The Beatles that much. He loved an idea of The Beatles playing the way he wanted, doing the things he wanted. The result: no more Beatles. You trying to make it as if John was mocking I Me Mine for dancing a waltz is ludicrous.
so Paul is a control freak there've been worse
More reasons to hate Yoko. she destroyed the Beatles, she got John on heroin and encourages dependence on drugs and completely messed up the Beatles. It was Yoko.
This guy is way off. Lennon liked the song a lot. He’s even singing it while he’s dancing with his wife. There is no mockery going on. It’s pretty cool to see Harrison playing John Lennon’s guitar, and listening to the beautiful chords being fleshed out.🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Paul McCartney was the one who wanted to keep the Beatles together by then.Lennon and McCartney didn't like that song because it was a dig against them bickering over the music
Ouch! that hurt
John was hurt because he thought that they were going to do the film together. He was interviewed in Spain about what his plans were after filming wrapped and he replied that Paul had signed THEM up for a film score and then they would probably record a Beatles' album after that. Paul had asked him if it was OK and he said yes, but I think he misunderstood what Paul was asking.
I me mine .....super bass lines!
2:27 supply man Croz
The others were right. The song "I Me Mine" sucks. The bitter truth is, except for a couple of songs, Harrison's songs were just not of the same quality as Paul and John's.
