It took me this long to notice: "A Girl Named Nayeon"; "Big Little Universe"; "Crossing the Cosmos"; "Deeper Into NA" = "A B C D". What a masterpiece music video :)

I think it has SOTY potential and her being in twice helps but….i don’t think it suits her. She’s trying to break into a mature concept for her age which is fine but I feel like even someone else in her group like Jihyo, MiSaMo, etc could’ve pulled it off better. Maybe not vocally but definitely through dance. If someone with more sex appeal/confidence did this strong it would go harder (hyolyn, KIOF, hwasa etc). I appreciate her trying to do something different and get out of her comfort zone and everyone should to grow. but it still feels like she’s not CONFIDENT in doing this concept and idk if it’s just JYPE making her lean a little PG-13 (besides the viral dance move). I’m not saying she missed but it still feels a little awkward to me.

I wasn’t a fan of POP, but ABCD was love at first listen for me. The aesthetic, the music, NAYEON, I love all of it

I personally doesn’t think its song of the year. It reminds me of other songs like they used different parts of songs to make this piece Its not bad at all but it doesn’t have the SOTY effect I think POP by her was better and way more unique and it fits her personality

It all just boils down to a person's preferences in music. I don't see the necessity with actually comparing the 2 albums when the 2 were produced with different themes and focus in genre. But yeah, Butterflies and Magic were the better B-sides in NA album but Julie's part in Magic felt really short and had me wanting more but still is a really great song for a B-side. I felt pretty much the same in terms of album strength, with IM NAYEON, I really loved POP, followed by Love Countdown and All or Nothing and with NA, I really loved ABCD as the title, then followed by Butterflies and Magic. But for now, I am leaning more towards NA because its contents were reminiscent for me as I am a 90s kid and this is pretty much my vibe in music. And in terms of featurings, Wonstein's pretty much the best feature yet.

It's also interesting to see everyone's personal tastes, cause butterflies is my fave song on the album lol. I think it's sooooo lush and the vocal harmonies are gorgeous and all the beat changes are dope

I prefer the bsides on na because I think nayeon seems more comfortable in r&b. It may seem generic, but I think it's the perfect execution of the genre. If you are not a lover of r&b I can see why you don't like it. I listen to I'm nayeon bsides pretty consistently, but this album has cleared. Especially count it, something, and butterflies.

Thank you not only for the Album Launch livestream but also for this video review! Seeing that you really can't monetize anything and that your livestream got blocked (again), I felt I needed to give back a bit to you for the amount of entertainment you've given me in the past few days because of Nayeon's new song. So there! :) Go buy one of her albums or something! :D As for the actual review of the album you just shared with us, while I got a good idea of it since you discussed it at the end of the livestream, I can say that unfortunately for the b-sides (but fortunately for "ABCD"!) I agree with your review! The title track is stellar and even after 10 listens I still caught on new stuff in the production (maybe the visuals in the dance break were too distracting, but she really does some superb adlibs in that section! I think it's all cut out from the Spotify version, though?). And for me as well, the b-sides just aren't as memorable as the ones from her first mini-album. Maybe some will grow on me more, but it would have to be quite the sudden revelation! The website you showed that put the album at 70 is too low a score, though; these b-sides aren't so bad that adding in the title track "ABCD" should give it a higher score overall, IMO. Anyway... But the title track is SO good that I'll be coming back to it constantly, so at least I'm really really happy with that :) Next album gotta have a feature of Lily from NMIXX, though. I agree with you. B side in Im Nayeon is better because i can feel more uniqueness and connection to the song. How nayeon herself wrote lyrics for example all or nothing talking about her strugle make it more special. Sunset and Love Countdown probably still my favorite song from all nayeon solo discography. For me Im Nayeon is 85 and NA is 80. My top 3 song is ABCD, Magic, and HalliGalli.

Actually, Mine could have been an amazing song if they doubled the curious. licorice is my favorite song from the album that seems to stick. For future albums, I really want SM to move forward with songs that emphasis Winter's & Ningning's spectacular Vibratos.

The problem with aespa b-sides is that the girls want to show their colors by doing different styles of music but it just does not work. Cause their concept is IRON, according to knetz. Aespa are my ults, the only K-pop group that differentiates themselves from others and is the most unique, however, the girls need to understand we love their aespa sound. We stan aespa for their concept. They have plenty good b-sides: all of savage b sides are better than most main releases of other big groups, illusion, wtmw, salty and sweet, I'm unhappy, don't blink, trick or treat, yolo, mine, licorice, set the tone, bahama. I feel like they need to understand that as a group, they need to do aespa sound we all love and keep their taste in music for their solo releases cause a group is a group for a reason.

I agree. I love Aespa but their b sides are pretty meh compared to the title tracks. I didn't like any song besides Illusion from Girls. But it didn't bother me as it seemed like they were just exploring different genres. My world wasn't bad. But Drama, it's gotta be the worst for me😬 Savage overall is still their best album imo. I actually really like Licorice. It's kinda unique and fun. But Long Chat and Bahama just don't do it for me

I loved the first 6 songs on the album but then when Bahama ended the rest was a skip for me

what makes aespa unique is their tech style (girls, black mamba, illusion, Savage, menagerie, Supernova...) sick songs decent genre (spicy, saltysweet, wake up, 2hot4u, set the tone to licorice....) ok but average genre (better things, forever, drama, lips, longchat to melody....)

i rated this album a 9/10. i do think the album lacks consistently, but i don't think licorice, bahama, or long chat are the problem. for me its live my life and prologue. long chat sounds at least more fun and has crunchy synths and still feels very alien sounding even though its a cutesy nice track. i don't think it's fair to say the entire album has to be all "dark". for me, i picture the album as alien invasion, takeover, psychedelic trip into realizing the beauty of earth, friendship (licorice-long chat) and then prologue, live my life, and melody are back to earrth. i HAAATE prologue and live my life so much because thats where i'm like "how is this aespa?" bahama and long chat still feels like aespa songs for me because of the production value, and hearing them do songs like that before (better things, hot air balloon, life's too short). however i think melody is a great closer for this album as it feels very comforting and earthy after being in alien land for a bit lol. and the song itself has nice music and melodies. i think consistency is a valid issue, but i personally only think this applies to prologue and live my life, which is only 2 songs on the album. if those songs were out of it, or the production was different it would be a 10/10!

Good work man. I would agree with that first comment; outside of title tracks and pre-release/promoted singles (welcome to my world, illusion, supernova) it's rare to find a great bside in aespa's discography. I also much prefer their darker or more rnb songs like "I'll make you cry" and "Lucid dream" over the plethora of boring generic pop songs they release.

This reaction was released a year ago but I'm gonna comment anyway (Feel Special is my all-time favorite music video ever). The concept of Feel Special is so thoughtful. It's basically a concept around friendship and how their friendship makes them feel special. I'm gonna list down below their conceptual relationships in the video. 1. Tzuyu and Momo - The relationship between a toy and its owner. 2. Jihyo and Nayeon - The relationship between a famous star and her fan watching her on TV. 3. Chaeyoung and Mina - The juxtaposition between a very futuristic world (Chae) and a natural environment (Mina) and how it is possible to co-exist together. 4. Sana and Dahyun - The power of offering someone help during their most challenging times, even in the smallest things like offering an umbrella to someone stuck in the rain. 5. Jeongyeon and herself - About her looking at her own figure, realizing she's happy whenever she's with her TWICE members. All of these relationships in the video come down to something that makes them feel special. And I think that's really genius and thoughful esp for a K-pop music video. Ps. I remember how crazy the release day of this mv was in 2019. This was released the same day as the launch of Apple's iPhone 11 but Momo took the number 1 spot on Twitter trends just because at the time, this was the first time she appeared without bangs LMFAO. Crazy asf.
