Follow us along on the journey and come out and ride with us. See you on the trail soon.
Walk around MAK SIKKAR ENDUROCROSS TRACK : New updates August 2022
We’ve been working on new additions to the compound. Endurocross track and trials areas all have new features and obstacles. Lines are intermediate to expert/pro we have begun construction on a kids section as well as a kids endurocross track too. The industrial trials section has new obstacles and the natural trials obstacles both are growing in size. Wayyy more to come we have over 250 tones of material being delivered from concrete from knocked down buildings to tires, logs, wood chips and ecology blocks and k rails. We’re super stoked to host a new style of endurocross we’re calling ultimate trials championship (more to come with that) anyway stop by and test the track out we’re located in washington state not far from Olympia check out @a_kirk44 Instagram.

Making the change now after breaking my stock thottle housing. thanks for the video. One note, you can run ODI lock on grips with the stock setup. ODI has a separate cam you have to buy for it though. it does not come with the grip purchase like the others.
how come there is tons of fuel all over it....... its leaking....
Thanks boff
Great bike..
My 91 125 was the same bottom end power top end , 250rms rocket ships
Ive seen other reviews where they destroy them in 20 hours or less. Most reveiws love the performance but always say they dont last much past that 15 to 20 hour life span. I just got a set for a KDX 200 hope I have experience your seeing. Literally this is the first video that raved about durability. All love the performance. I swear talking about tires is like talking about oil.......lol
Hey I have the Husqvarna to 300 how u said to adjust for enduro I have to lose it ?
Right is rich left is lean. Don't blow it up my friend. That's where all that new power is coming from.
O estoy equivocado?
Well bud, 2 strokes don't Have valves so your looking at the wrong video
What metering rod is in it? Also, what altitude do you ride at?
AQ-11 Smartcarb sent me a new rod to try out and it’s even better all the new Smartcarb’s are gonna come with this new metering rod. If they aren’t already on the market. I ride lots of different altitudes, from sea level to 12k feet sometimes more if I can climb it trials style. I do a lot of riding at sea level and 1500 feet and then a lot at 3500 and 5k-7k feet so it’s always changing
I'd love to see someone put a smartcarb on a klr or drz. Would also love to see an o2 meter on there.
Is that a low seat? How do you like it?
I briefly test road a sef 500 and the engine breaking really felt strange to me like as soon as you let off it's naturally slowing down big time. Honestly wasn't a fan of it overall. Guess it could be a good thing once you get use to it. Have you ever ridden the 450 or 500 sef? Also any thoughts on the 2023 KTM 350 XC-F factory edition?
Just got a 2023 model. Love it. Good power and suspension. Hard choice as had the 250se but for me the SEF 300 my choice
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm ranting to all of youtube not picking on Mak here, all of the SC2 reviews are "seat of the pants" reviews. The rant is that there are so many motorcycle dynos out there and no one has done at least a busch league dyno test comparison the SC2 vs Keihin for example, where they even use an oxygen sensor to tune the carbs. Also with a load bearing dyno, for example maintain a steady 15 ft-lbs of torque, one could do a fuel consumption test running a fuel line from a bottle to the carb and then measure time and the amount of fuel used from the bottle. From there you can calculate BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) which would normalize results between the carbs. BSFC is the main indicator of efficiency and what OEM powertrain engineers use daily for mechanical and calibration optimization of combustion engines.
You just hang tight there we have some stuff coming. And I like your style you want all the nerd data like I do and we have something in the way. Thing is dynos are expensive dyno time is very expensive too and getting in the schedule to get that time if you don’t have one is tough and their just aren’t many out there. To get a machine made up to do these tests like that and installed and concrete and then permits your looking at a starting investment of around $20k and then that only test’s specifically for one density altitude, temp, humidity and all that jazz so do you even get real world tuning and real world specs off it in varying altitudes where this crab does best over lectron and standards carbs. That’d be a great mikuni carb test since they don’t meter for any density altitude and produce the most power given one setup for specific elements. But I do get where your going with that and why it’s been about 2 years of getting stuff together and proper dirt bike testing gear has to be made to work because well we’re not gonna hook an old sun machine up to do full spectrum results you’d need a pickup following you around. I built deag cars before and when you dyno them it’s just to get cool guy numbers and base tune when you get to the track it’s test pass after test pass to get the tune right. I wish it was more like engine master but that’s something we really want to get more into for dirt bikes. So I absolutely love your ideas and greatly appreciate the support 🤘🤘 and we excited to announce some stuff soon it’s just been a journey but I think your really gonna love it. Because I am lol 😂
@@maksikkarenduro9218 Hell yeah, just made sure Im subbed!!
Bought a SC2 for my 2018 husqvarna TX300 and the carb turned it into a monster. Best $700+ I spent. Amazing
Cool terrain. I'd love to go riding in Arizona.
What's your opinion on the clake clutch? Have you tried that?
Same ideas on a 85 03
Did you have to grid the new ignition cover for the flywheel weight?
I agree with what you said about electron I bought a carburetor off of them guys about 4 years ago never could get it right and I've been tuning carburetors my whole life I'm 63 and both Kevin and Dave basically told me unfortunately there's nothing we can do but they didn't have no problem taking my money.
Yeah their customer service is absolutely trash. They kept telling me to sell it to someone else well I eventually took it apart and it wasn’t even finished with mill work and I had to drill the holes out and also adjust float height and then I made some of my own mods and installed it on a rm250 and that lectron is still being used today and still hasn’t been adjusted or anything since I set it up. So they are morons and when I told them they said well there you go. I’m like no not there you go I bought something that was supposed to bolt and go but had to do a few hours of work to even make it run and finish something that I bought that was supposed to be finished when I purchased it. Absolute D bags in my honest opinion.
tuning carbs all your life, but how many emulsion tubes have you redrilled or filled? or... how many wolselys from 1904 with an "air compensation valve" have you tuned? these are not carbs in the traditional sense. if you know emulsion tubes inside out, or air compensation valves, they make sense. the bowl is sealed and vents to the venturi... thats... important. critical. i got no comments on the company, no affiliation. not about to fork out, especially with the exchange rates. . whereas by figuring out how these work i can modify regular mikunis and their clones for next to nothing ;) the throat is a funny shape for a reason. thats the hardest part!
So lame. DISLIKE AND BLOCK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND
Well I'll never get that time back
You're welcome you ever tried this technique? Engine running press up against tree or object and slip clutch to balance?
Holding the rear brake yes lol. Engine on or off it requires the same balance technique
You have me intrigued with what the CRF450RL can do, I am working on a similar build and love you vids man. Any overheating issues?
Unfortunately the guy that got the bike sold it and we were unable to finish the hard enduro build. It has incredible flame out issues owner grew frustrated and instead of figuring it out he opted to just go pick up a KTM 300 XC-W. But the bike has absolute potential. The suspension needs revalved for sure try and get a 2018 Suzuki RMX450z valve job done. And thank you for the support. I’ll have to subscribe to you as well I’d love to follow your build. My Instagram is a_kirk44 if you find me I’ll follow you back.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 at the risk of sounding older than I am... I found and hit up the instagram. So far I have a fair bit of work into the bike including suspension and lowering done. I am sussing out 4 ideas to polish the bike off and try to dirt focus it. I can rarely get mine to stall still but it takes effort.
Thats neat 👌🏻 Gotta love the tig
Hi, is the fuel consumption noticeable?
Yes it’s a noticeable difference the sherco tank is already larger so you automatically get more miles than say the TPI bikes. But I was getting about 72-75 miles before and with the smartcarb I’ve done 68 and still had almost a half tank. Also depends on the type of riding I normally stick to hard enduro and trials type rides that require alot of pushing and bikes in its side before I was getting around 25 miles but I get about 2 days of extreme riding now so about 50-60 because nothing getting spilled out of the float bowl. A well tuned carb like a 38 pilot 168 main with 60:1 motul with the necw needle makes the sherco run really well but the smartcarb runs like a well tuned carb all the time.
With FMF Gnarly Torque and SmartCarb II that 300 Sherco should be a damn hard enduro slayer.
With the fmf factory fatty and new factory sherco engine in her frame she is quite the hard enduro slayer.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 IMO the FMF fatty pipe seems to be the best pipe for the 250 & 300cc. 2-strokes whether it's a KTM, Husqvarna, Sherco or GasGas. I love the smooth power & torque of the 300 2-strokes!
How much clicks leaner did u go from factory based setting?
I wanna come ride !!!!?
Excited to try this tire! Also interested in the dual compound tire shinko makes too
I havent bought one yet but i am very curious to see one on a brand new bike and see what kind of hours it could get out of it just figure it might have a decent spec for fueling and if you chose a good ratio to premix your fuel at i think you could get more hours out of a 2 stroke and maybe even less wear for these older bikes etc
That was a brand new bike. That 2021 sherco has a brand new engine going in right now and it got smashed up in page, Arizona training for grindingstone I ran that bike at 66:1 and had 150 hours of really hard use on it. Smartcarb is still on the bike. I run motul 800 premix. Technically the engines still fine just broke the shifter off inside the engine after it took a hard core hit to the shifter side.
is parts available for this bike
Yeah it’s pretty much a gas gas pre KTM and their are parts available at most places you get parts. It’s a very well built bike, very balanced and lots and I mean lots of horsepower. The suspension is the best on the current market. Sherco is second and then TM then Yamaha and then KTM
Damn dude turn the music off and let’s hear the engine.
Hey. Great review. Thanks. I am seriously looking at this bike for hare scramble. I tried one the other day but felt that the engine was a little bit mellow. Have you been successful at bringing a little bit of more life into it?
Thanks for the help!
No worries mate 🤙🤙
Can you tell me what that hose above the power valve is for
Pressure vent
What way do I turn it for more bottom end/tractor mode?
Turn clock wise. That tightens the spring up.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 how do you know if the power valve is in its neutral position?
@@kbsrfilms903 you talking neutral spring tension or the mechanical portion of the power valve itself in relativity to the exhaust port?
@@maksikkarenduro9218 the tensioner mate, forgot to mention that
Does this work for a 2000 rm250
I’m pretty sure you have a power valve that pretty close to the same. But looks a tad different and yes I do believe so.
ohh man, perfect music hahah
That was a good video. I’m having issues with it breaking up on top and kinda seems like it’s a loading up I don’t know if that’s my power valves. I just change the reeds they were cracked. I bought the bike in a box so I’m putting it back together it seems to be running a little rich blowing oil out the header pipe
If you have an iPhone theirs an app called jetting for Suzuki it helps get the jetting right for your area.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 brooooo please could you send me a lonk
the trials bike uses mineral oil (I use baby oil in mine) so you would have to swap all the seals and the clutch slave I believe as the brembo uses dot4. I would think the trials one with the small amount of fluid would boil easier with how hard we ride our hard enduro bikes vs trails? my gas gas came with a more brembo looking master 9 but I traded it to the brembo 10 because king of hammers was coming up and didn't have time to get used to the different pull. with my shorter fingers I run my clutches closer to the bar so with the 9 I can't disengage it pulled all the way and I end up stalling much more. not sure if there's a work around for that or not maybe less oil but that's why I prefer the 10's. your fingers end up getting used to the slightly harder pull. Just finished the 5 hour grinding stone race and my finger only got a little tired from it throughout
The Shercos with a 10mm is a Brutal pull. The clutches go fast and the 10mm is way to stiff it’s harder to pull than any cable clutch and that’s including Suzukis which is the stiffest I’ve found the 9mm makes a huge difference. The 10 is a more off and in feel while the 9mm allows you to drag more and get more feed back from the engine. The trials bikes do have a smaller reservoir and I want to swap my trs brake tech on and see. I ran the 4 stroke sherco for grinding stone since I destroyed my 2 stroke riding the first day out there. The 4 stroke has a 10mm and you get clutch fade really fast. The huskys came with Magura 9mm and it was the best clutch I’ve ever used. Now I only run 9mm exclusively. Now everything comes stock with 10mm. Even the top pros only run 9mm. Johny walker talked about this in one of his videos but runs a 10mm front brake to get more stopping power. Sorry was gonna stop by your tent but was busy dealing with bike stuff. Hope to see you in Montana. If you make it up to washington let me know you can stop by my enduro testing facility it’s pretty rad. And we have all the new bikes erzberg, rockstar, reiju mr 300 pro 6 days, new 22 factory 300 sherco, Suzuki RMX450z, and beta evo extended.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 Did you ever test your TRS braketec on enduro bike? Id like to know if that could work. thanks
@@Anonymous-nu1xf not yet had that on the back burner but thanks for reminding me I gotta pick up the line if the guy still has it. I had some custom lines done. Lol 😂
My bike idols and add under 1000 RPMs. It's crazy for a two-stroke. My SC2 is so freaking sweet.
Left is lean.
How much did you adjust it
I have a 1994 rmx250 farm bike and I JUST realized that it had a power valve. I doubt this valve effects compression? my compression is only 70psi but it runs good besides bad low end. the thing goes fast but wont wheelie and hardly can get a start and sprockets plenty big so basically exactly how you explained it which was done perfectly for a beginner like me.
Check compression when it’s hot, pull plug, out screw in compression checker in (can be bought or rented from orileys) hold throttle wide open and kick over 5 times or as soon as compression needle stops climbing write ✍️ number down clear line do this 3 times. I haven’t seen an RM250 run below 120 psi.
@@maksikkarenduro9218 alright, thanks man! I did run the test cold I just figured it wouldn't be that significant of a loss but I didn't have throttle open so maybe that makes a big difference.
Where do you buy springs? Didn't see any on Rocky mountain atv
⭐✊👍
🤘🤘🤘
Nice to hear someone else appreciate the engine braking of a 4t for trail riding. Stretching a gear coming into a corner, just letting off the throttle is enough rear brake. And if u dont like it or want more flow, just turn the idle up a bit and it goes away
It’s a pretty great bike. It does it all really well. I’m very very impressed by this machine and engine.
2:10 The 300 SEF is actually lighter than the 300 2T you have right there. Definitely agree with you on the engine, it is THE single track weapon. I've had two of them before, and now trying a 2 stroke, which is awesome for technical riding, but I still love the 300 4T more for single track 6:55 Be very careful refitting the air filter. It's not hard to fit it crooked and have it not seal, especially given the total lack of room around it and having to roll it on the side to get it in the air box. Definitely remove a side panel and confirm the lower edge is in place before riding 👌 (I'm told by Sherco that an update on the design is planned for a future revision of the bikes)
