Congrats on 1000 subscribers! I really have no idea who the killer is but obviously it has to be one of the people who works there right? So there’s only a handful of people it could be. I’m glad the whole guillotine thing got explained because I really didn’t understand what happened there. My feeling is that there are some shady dealings going on behind the scene at this foundation. Maybe that has something to do with everything. I can’t wait to finish the book and see what happens.

I was happy to learn that I was correct about a trapdoor concealing the true "weapon" of Rylan's death. I still do not have any solid theories, but I still wonder if hypnotism will tie into Lyle's death and I am wondering if Flick is somehow involved.

Congrats on 1k subscribers! I just thought of this during the intro, when you were talking about a theory involving if Lyle actually wrote the word Christmas. Remember how Lyle had called to report a murder the night before? What if the murder he wanted to report is supposed to happen on Christmas? And he wrote Christmas in his blood as a warning? Oh! And a thought on the needle mark in Lyle’s arm. What if he was killed by air being injected into his bloodstream, then all the stabbing was done after he died as part of framing Erin? He did say the piece of glass he found could be from a syringe. The hypnotism is a good theory! I didn’t think of that for a reason Erin wouldn’t remember. And if she was hypnotized, did she actually kill Lyle, or maybe just see who did? We’re getting so close to the end!

Congratulations on 1K! 🥳 I like the chapter tags. They have been helping me keep track of the key point in each chapter. I was hoping you'd bring up the hypnotist theory. I think Erin actually killed Lyle after a trigger from being hypnotized. Not entirely sure why or any other theory. But Teresa standing in front of the gun then makes even more sense if she is responsible for both of their deaths. Motive? No clue yet.

I don't usually comment on videos, I think of myself as a lurker. But I just wanted to pop in and say that I love the 100 and I'm so excited that you're checking out the books! Both the books and the tv show are great and I hope more people check out them out. I will warn you though, the books are very different from the show, so keep that in mind while reading them. But they're still great and worth looking into. Happy reading!

I will say as of today I have been done shopping for over a week, however I haven't wrapped a single present and for once my mom is done before me. 😄 This month has been busier than October, but that's okay, enjoying the holiday so far and hope you are, too. 😊🩷

I was completely thinking Ryland was going to be it, but now i don't know how one can fake decapitation in front of that many people. I am leaning toward Sam now, but that seems too easy. On a side note, I have been fortunate enough to have been to the Blue Mountains and know the tale of the three sisters. So, reading a story with that as a location brings back memories of that trip and i am loving that part too.

Reading about the bullet when they were in the dressing room, I was sure that the bullets were getting switched around and that’s how he was going to die. I thought it was really interesting them showing Rylan’s tricks to the audience as they were trying to get him out of the trick. I agree with some of the others about Teresa and Sam jumping in front of the gun, it was a little too convenient to take away the spotlight from them as potential suspects.

There were so many cliffhangers this week! I agreed with another person's comment that maybe Sam knew that nothing would happen with the gun and that is why she was willing to stand in front of it. The death by paper is confusing to me as well and the only idea that comes to my mind is maybe some kind of trap door thing, but then I think that the police would probably find that 🤔

I wonder if Lyle wrote Chris and Chris finished the word Christmas in his blood to change the word. Still unsure how Rylan died as well.

My current theory is that either Josh or Theresa are the killer. Josh because there was a reporter in the photo Ernest looked at and he knew a lot about Lyle’s murder and maybe he didn’t have to bribe a million people to get it 😂 Or Theresa is the killer and that’s how Sam knows so much about the murder plots and why she was willing to put herself in the way of the bullet. Or maybe Sam is the killer and she is having fun messing with Lyle and put herself in the way of the bullet because she knew it wouldn’t do anything?? Speaking of that scene I was annoyed because I remembered in the prologue that Ernest tells us that someone gets decapitated by a piece of paper so it took all the suspense out of it. For such a short book I don’t know why the killings were told to us in the beginning! Especially since so much time was devoted to the red herring with the bullets. I can’t wait to see what gets revealed to us this week though. Also, good luck with your recovery from your eye surgery. ❤ And happy almost 1k subs!! 🤩

Oooh! I didn’t think of the words on those advent calendar doors turning into their own clue. I like that idea! The end of chapter 8 was so mean for a book meant to be read a chapter a day! Definitely a good day for you to have been behind on. 😆 I did guess that it was a fake head for a magic trick, but I wasn’t sure. It was so hard to stop there. I was confused for a minute when after chapter 12. I thought it was the fake head that rolled towards Ernest’s feet. Then I misread the first sentence of chapter 13 and didn’t realize that Rylan had actually died at first. With the confirmation that the guillotine’s blade really was made of paper, I wonder if there was a second blade that came up from below. Would that be possible? If so, the police should be able to figure out what part of his neck the cut started on.

I’m with you on not fully understanding how Rylan died. I didn’t even realize he had died until quite a bit into the next chapter. If the guillotine was still paper and he still had his fake head in place I’m not sure what went wrong there. Maybe it will be explained in a future chapter. I really like Benjamin Stevenson’s writing style but I’m not sure if it’s because it’s shorter so everything is moving faster or what but this isn’t quite hitting the same for me as the first book. I need to read the second one and see how I feel about that one.

I like the short chapters each day. I can read them in bed before starting my day, and not feel guilty for procrastinating too long.

I’ve given up on the chapter a day. I didn’t pick it up for a few days and then just caught up before watching this 🤷‍♂️. I’m enjoying it! I wish I had any ounce of deduction skills.

I agree with some of the people here about the fiancee- its weird that he is keeping her in the dark ... i would think she would understand. I like that the magician is actually a suspect (did not read the back of the book until after i finished chapter 7 so I was surprised that he actually bought the ticket to do some pi work 🥸❤)

I'm thinking she's being framed. No idea why she would be framed, but I don't think she did it. I'm hoping for some fun magic stuff. I love magic shows.

I love the fact we are reading a chapter a day. Though I'm a bit behind because I just got my book. Today is the 9th so I have a few more chapters to read tonight!

I still am reading my one chapter a day and then go on to reading my other books and I have gotten so much reading done. I am enjoying the book so far, but do not have any theories yet.

I’ve been enjoying reading only one chapter a day. I don’t have any firm theories yet but I do find it weird that Ernest is keeping all this from his fiancée. Especially since she keeps getting mentioned so I wonder if there is a reason for that 🤔

My book didn’t come in until day 3 so I had a little sprint, but I’m really enjoying reading each day. I like the little cliff hangers that each day brings. I’ve already read from this author so I like his style. I did some of the same questions as you with the insulin and the wound at the beginning of the story. And I can just picture accidently(or was it?) shutting the door and driving away and dragging that pesky report along with him. Made me giggle! Things are looking to heat right up this week.

I have been enjoying it so far. I have been doing a chapter a day but it has been hard because I want to keep reading!

I wonder if the notes in the little doors at the end of each chapter are some kind of clue. Erin, red-handed, 1:30am, bad alibi, report your own murder, wince, big blue box. Also the dedication at the start about door 12.
