Hi! Great work with the head unit! My Uconnect 7 unit broke down, black screen with Fiat Logo, works just on the last radio station on which it was before. I bought from Amazon an Boomboost unit, same as xtrons. I have some questions: this unit it only works with engine on or contact on? I cant make it work when i wait in the car with engine off? The blue contact from the Uconnect/car, that it is used for GPS, we don’t Connect it to the new unit, we just hide it behind? Thank You very much!

Oddly I too am working on a 68 beetle… no hard start though. I’m rewiring as the previous owner, well left a dangerous mess. I also was concerned about the lack of a fuse for the high current long run. Always add a fuse as close as possible to the source. My option was to add the fuse at the point where it leaves the regulator before the light and ignition split. Really, the should be a relay for the headlamps so that the switch doesn’t carry the current… thanks for sharing. What triggered all this… My ignition switch wiring had a fuse… 14ga with a 30A in-line and the wiring had melted shorting to the column…

This is B.S. a bad or no ground will NOT turn on brake light period! The ground is only applied to sensor wire on master cylinder when fluid is way low! If fluid is ok the ground wire is not even applied! All these sites saying light on is bad ground is total B.S. you can unplug the sensor and light will still be on so stop with the bad ground crap. Yes there is bad grounds causing all sorts of issues, but a bad or no ground will not make brake light come on, only low fluid will.

Thanks for putting this video together. I just got done installing one of these units in my 2016 Fiat 500X and this video was super helpful. Regarding the two issues you noted, I didn't seem to have them with my setup. My 500X has the Beats audio amp and subwoofer, and the sound quality is great. You mentioned that you might install an amp, and I suspect that would help significantly. I'm not sure if there was an update since you received yours, but I was able to manually set the time on mine. There's a setting to select the source, with the options being network, GPS, and off. If I select off, I'm able to manually set the time.

Black Angle was the GOAT of the 80s. First and best. I had many dozens of bowling balls, and none of them were as consistently effective as the Black Angles I threw.

I had a purple Angle and had my best year ever, averaged 211, 208 and 207 in three leagues.

I want to thank you so much I have a 2008 Jeep compass that solved my right fog light and my brake light on. They have so many issues with wiring. 👍.. I live in Southwest Ohio the winters can be pretty bad. They use a lot of salt on the roads.

Your personal views aren't wanted, a properly fitted spring clamp is safer, that's why manufactors use them, I let you research reasons to not use gear clamps .

Does your F500 had Beats o Bose audio?, If yes, the amplifier was connected directly with the wiring harness that cames with the estereo?

I don't know how to explain the sound, but it seems like something is trying to latch, but then it falls. This only happens when I turn on the heater, and it sounds like it starts if I turn the air all the way up and then turn on the heater. However, today the heat won't turn on at all, although I can feel air coming out of the vents. It's really strange, but based on this information, do you think the issue could be that part?

FYI: I have owned/driven only Toyotas since 1976. That's the year I bought my first new Toyota, a 1976 Celica GT Liftback. Great car. I live in Arizona and for nearly as long I have used only Mobil 1 15/50 oil. It's getting pretty scarce now but I will continue to use it as long as I can find it. Why? Because I believe Toyota (and others) no longer want our engines to last for 200K+ miles. They discovered that it's costing them a lot of money if we don't replace their cars more often. Of course they will never admit this and you certainly don't have to agree with me but you all should at least give this some thought.

Finally the family wanted to know why I do this. So I went to TH-cam expecting it would take me a while to find one example of this from the three stooges, but lo and behold someone went to the trouble of putting this compilation together. Hello... thanks again for this video. couple more questions. can you confirm if the new stereo still has ability to change the "car settings"... the menu on original stereo that has ability to turn off radio with door open close. or setting the day running lights? Also... can you confirm the stereo output is low level?... because your car and many others actually has factory stereo amp in the trunk.

I tried this trick but the left light (low beam) is still low and no high beam. I ran the wire from the left (wht/blu) to the right (wht/?) Can anyone help?
