Project Mopar
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 ก.ย. 2006
Hello, I'm Todd..... husband, father, rock-n-roller and Mopar fan. I got sober in 1992 and Mopars fueled my sobriety. Since then, I have owned several Mopars and have enjoyed (almost) every minute of every project I've been involved in.
This channel is dedicated to Mopar projects and car profiles of all makes. It isn't necessarily dedicated to only Chrysler products. I hope you enjoy watching.

Project Mopar: Jeff's 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS
My grandfather is the original owner of this '67 Camaro RS. He was living in Modesto CA and working in San Jose; so he was looking for a small car with air conditioning to use for the hour and a half commute.
When my aunt was 18, she was given the car. She drove the car daily until the early 90s. By then, the car had been wrecked several times and was in disrepair, so it was parked in the garage.
In 2000, my brother in law Jeff purchased the car and embarked on a 23 year project. Jeff's efforts with the car are outlined in this video.
My grandfather and aunt have passed, but their memory lives on, as their Camaro remains part of my family. In 2023 Jeff recreated a family photo, in the same location, that was taken of my aunt with the car in 1976. See it at the end of the video.

Finally, a profile of a car I own. This is my '64 Barracuda. This car has been a daily driver, a project, a weekend car... it's even been a play area for my kids when they were young. Originally a 273 automatic, now a 340 4 speed. It's all kinds of fun to drive, and really, this is how they should have been built in the first place. Project Mopar: Bassani Road Rage III Quiet Baffle Review and Install for Harley Davidson Dyna
มุมมอง 2K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I take a close look at the quiet baffle for Bassani Road Rage exhaust systems. After seeing a video where a Bassani "quiet" baffle was being installed; I was confused because it looked like a typical loud baffle. So I wanted to see inside Bassani's quiet baffle before I bought one. I couldn't find any photos on line of the inside, so hopefully this video will help others. I actual...

Brian tells us about his 1966 Dodge A100 van. This van has an interesting history. Originally from Los Gatos Ca., then sold locally where it resided in Campbell Ca. for ten years. In 1976 the second owners moved to the Paradise area of Ca, where it miraculously survived the devastating Paradise fire of 2018 before returning to the Los Gatos area in 2019. Project Mopar: Roger's 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber
มุมมอง 2488 หลายเดือนก่อน
Us "old guys" know that before a Maverick was a truck; it was a passenger car, and the Grabber was the special edition which to the best of my non-Ford guy knowledge, came with a 302 cubic inch engine, high back bucket seats, side graphics, and a blacked out rear panel. Roger shows us his tribute to brother Mike, and tells us a brief family history of his Maverick Grabber. I'm sorry I hurried t...

....I've had the same 66' A100 Sportsman in wimb. white for 35 yrs...from S.Pasadena...225 slant 6 with a 727 and 8-3/4...only probs I ever had were auto cable broke once and the splines at base of steering shaft wore out while driving...that was a hoot!....trying to finish resto this year..great truck you have...love the chrome trim...really rare...and the back up lights are orig. btw....
If she said your name during the Magic Mirror scene, you were the happiest kid in town! She never said my name as far as I can remember, but I'm happy just the same!
A comparison would have been nice.
Beautiful Mopar
I dig this whole process. Nothing in life is perfect.
23:25 - Captain Cosmic, Star Wars music, and Tokusatsu.....sounds like my kind of programming block. Of course, to keep the Captain Cosmic show going, they'd have to find other Japanese TV shows like The Space Giants and Ultraman.
Was the Los Gatos music teacher that bought this van Bill Mundy???
Nice F body . And it's not a Aspen or Volare 😊
I like them. But Honda kids will swear that was full throttle. They have no idea with this video.
How does this thing handle now? I just finished rebuild the front end on my 71 roadrunner tribute. Did poly LCA bushings with boxing plates, reused the original torsion bar, kyb shocks, tubular upper control arms, poly bump stops, new steering linkage, poly strut rod bushings and manual steering, can't wait to see how it handles lol.
You better take a closer look in the valley at where the oil feed castings are.
I had 66 just like that same color but mine had a slant six and a 3-speed on a tree I change out the bucket seats with bucket seats out of Dodge Dart I believe with high backs. And in the back I put a bed above the rear wheel wells and put a tire underneath the bed It looks great I hope you enjoy it as much as I did mine.
I'd leave the engine compartment body color
What a fucking nightmare!
It would be beneficial if Edelbrock would update their instructions to show what position the stepped/skinny shoulder bolt goes in for the passenger side.
I've purchased two drive shafts from Denny's over the years. Both times were a slam dunk. Zero problems.
How much?
I suppose that the stock one is more cost effective, the Milodon is the most eficient.
My 67 Satellite has the same emergency Blake light. Forget the bulb number, but it’s a special bulb that flashes after it heats up. When you first engage the emergency brake, it will stay lit solid then after about a minute and a half or two minutes it will start flashing. Great car great video.
Flat tappet cams have been having issues of going flat as the oils have changed. For cat converter life and better emissions for the environment bla bla bla. The zddp/zinc was lowered to about 800 ppm. From what I’ve read and followed the oil geek a flat tappet cam needs at least 1200ppm zddp/zinc to live. Some of the diesel oil 15w-40 and 20-50 oils have over 1200ppm but some still have too much detergent. A performance oil that specifically states high in zddp/zinc is your best bet. Yes there is also the question of manufacturing issues. Many have found that a major brand ( you said the name) are not grinding the crown on the lifters. Some have found the taper that’s required to spin the lifter while the engine is running. Hughes engines has a great article on what to do while installing the cam and checking everything. That major cam company has bought up a few of the other known cam companies. So has a major intake manifold company buying up the smaller companies. Good luck.
I am ordering a custom sft cam from bullet soon. 275-288 @.050 .696-.674 lift, will be replacing a 264-268 @.050 Hughes cam which made plenty of power in my 470 just not enough cam for a drag race . I use edm direct oil lifters for flat tappet never had a failure and I run excessive spring pressure for valve control with a bigger 2.190 intake valve
Your quiet baffle looks just like mine I just got in for my Sportster. Thanks for the video as I needed to compare that I got the right one. It came with a bit of smutt on it. As if someone tested it very briefly and didn't like it. Or maybe their hands were just dirty. Vendor said they hadn't had any returns. Go figure. I'll see how she sounds
Sm318 is the trans Rockwell t221 is the transfer
Thanks for your video !!! Getting ready to do my 65 dart and you helped a lot!!!!!
Go to a fastener store were you can buy good bolts nuts waders good quality shit
I agree 100%, the stock baffle is obnoxious and pulverized me when just cruising around, I couldn't ride sn hour without a headache. I then made a perforated insert like that out of some scrap stainless perforated sheet I had laying around and what a difference it makes, it sounds great at a reasonable level, it does take away a little bit of power over 4000rpm but I live between 2500 to 3500 so it's not a problem for me
Nice car. Groucho Marx said, "You have to be a swinger to drive a Dodge Swinger." The name swinger means a fashionable person who likes going to restaurants, nightclubs, discotheques, parties, and get-togethers. A person who has sex with multiple people.
I like the way you are checking the body lines I’m in the same process of sanding down my dart here in Canada before the snow flys I don’t have a garage so I got to get surface rust taken care of I like the strait edge thing I find a few of the body lines are hard to see the fenders have a few dents and they put filler in them I think I will take fenders off so I can take out some of the dents I’m not no body man but I will figure it out next week I’ll get down and dirty next week need some good supply’s next week but for now I’ll take fenders off and try to get as strait as I can I hate the fact previous owner put body fill over dents but that’s life
That's right man. DIY! Enjoy your project.
Reverse thread wheel studs on the drivers side. Lost my rear tire twice by studs breaking doing burnouts apparently loosened the lug nuts.
Damn, I had a Green one like that 340 4sp. posi last year in High School 1978 and drove it in '79. Now I can't remember why I sold it, But I remember I sold it for $900
Never got bad lifters or Cam's from Bullet / Ultradyne
very cool! any thoughts on moving that battery to the trunk?
That makes sense for a race car. No need to do anything like that in a stock car.
I had a 1968 Dodge A108 ... basically a A100 with the long wheel base. Came with a slant six, and was GUTLESS ... 18' from bumper to bumper, all that steel and a flat nose ... it was terrible. I pulled the 6 and put a 318ci small block in it. Engine and trans out of a dodge dart. It flew up mountains at 70 mph, where with the slant six, it creeped at 35 mph with the pedal to the metal. To this day I kicked myself for selling it. About 10 years ago, I bought a 66 A100 pickup ... the slant six tired, so though a shorter wheelbase, still gutless. Currently at a shop, putting a 360 Magnum and 727 in it, and converting the straight axle to disc brakes .... I love driving it, and it should fly now.
Didn't know it was shot there. IMDB shows only australian TV stations. Pretty dumb show that young lion would quickly flip away from. Now it looks pretty smart compared to gootube.
I wanted to add a comment about the cam. I found my notes from when I spoke to the original owner. He did have the cam and valve springs swapped in 1968. He referred to it as a Road Runner cam. I'm assuming it's the 268/284 cam that came in the Road Runner in '68.
They were neat vehicles, bring back vehicles that were fun to drive.
How much
I just love watching these old engines still kicking.
I went to kindergarten in one just like that back in 1966. If you were lucky you got to sit on the engine hump! How safe was that? 😂
Looks like you used a 68 idler arm. I have the same car with the same idler arm and have ran into issues with the header pipes.
Headers always seem to be trouble. Especially full length. I think I'm going to run stock 340 manifolds.
I love the magical swirling colors.
Your transfer case is a Rockwell T221. It was used til 68. It was replaced by the king of light truck transfer cases the NP205, (gear driven) which saw use in some pickups until about 91.
Awesome. Thank you for the info.
68 side marker blinkers became mandatory
That's right. Must have been a Federal law.
First year for the name alone barracuda and the fish emblem. Because 64 and 65 were considered a valiant barracudas and had the v for an emblem.
Nice car I own a 1966 Plymouth barracuda formula es four-speed 8 and 3/4 rear 273 4 barrel commando all stock. 👌
I learned a few things watching Rocket Restorations video here on the differences between '64 and '65 Barracudas, so I wanted to link it here. Mainly the tail on the emblem of the '64 being longer, and the nut attaching the wiper arm. Great video! th-cam.com/video/-9yH_JObgQ0/w-d-xo.html
Hey there's nothing wrong with a chrome chain steering wheel, I had one on my 72 charger lol. I was young
Is that the spring on the clutch pedal pinging, i notice every time he let the clutch out.
Yes, it's the clutch spring. I've been too lazy to do anything about it!
@@It_guy1 it reminded me of my 72 charger lol
Other than the 66-67 coronet this is one my favorite. They were sleepers
Gotta fix that crack in the windshield before it gets larger.
