Footage from the first time I visited Paulton's Park back in April of this year with Jamie. Practically just crudely filmed nerd shots and footage from the Rio Grande train for the entire thing since I'm not really one to vlog. Had a great day and Storm Chaser was very cool!

I saw a video of an accident caused by a loose bolt on the magnet panel that took out the train's braking completely. I suppose they are as fail-safe as anything can be, but the mechanisms still have to be aligned and in good repair.
Has anyone attempted the use of this style of brakes on freight trains at rail crossings to prevent vehicle/train accidents in advance?
one of the coolest parts is that they are self observant too, since the eddy currents induce an electric charge you can measure the breakforce and then assume speed/velocity.

I want it to be an RMC so badly but i heard they signed a deal with B&M for 3 coasters. Thats why chessy is getting a wing coaster. Im betting on a hyper as they only focus on inversions at thorpe park.

I was here a few days ago and the queue moved reeaaallllyy sllloowwwllyyyy. And as it was a warm day it was very uncomfortable

More dark rides and flat rides are definitely needed at Alton Towers. Hopefully this ride is just the start of a new investment push, followed by a nice welcomed announcement of SW9 within the next few years.

this ride looks so intence the air time is incredible and the theming is second to none and the inversions are insane how many are there like 20 the ride makes nemesis look like a kiddy coaster
My problem with dark rides in this country is that the money and the care are not put into them. Merlin are MASSIVE in the entertainment industry and SHOULD be competing with Disney and Universal. But that being said, you don't need to put Disney level money into a dark ride to make it incredible and amazingly immersive. Look what Chessington did in the mid 90's with 'The Terror Tomb' or very early 90's with 'Professor Burps Bullbleworks". They had world class stories and themeing with Animatronics. Not projections or TV screen animating what's going on. That's lazy themeing. Unfortunately Merlin doesn't put the effort in and therefore dark rides in this country are disappointing. Anyone too young to ever ride 'The Terror Tomb' at Chessington before they lazily turned it it a light gun ride should watch the ride on TH-cam to see what's possible even on a budget in the mid 90's! @@DomDoesCoasters oh nah you missing out. them friction brakes don't be playing. especially on coasters like Montezooma's Revenge and wooden coasters that feature friction brakes
@@SydeLeaderRay friction brakes on CCIs because of how they programmed them are satisfying as hell to me. Also old school skid brakes are pretty cool
