One thing I do different in any chicken gumbo is that I use bone in thighs. It gives so much more flavor and meat is juicier. sometimes I put 6 thighs, cut in half, gizzards, sausage, a pound of cubed press ham, and my liquid is always chicken broth, water and 2 small jars of clam sauce. Never add okra! I only do okra with shrimp. Filet gumbo and okra gumbo to most Cajuns are 2 different things. No tomatoes but no okra either. I have been cooking for 54 years and I love how I think I perfected my gumbo. Yum. It's a matter of taste. Yours looks good though. :) But where is the rice? Gumbo always on rice, with potato salad in the plate. Also, I love every time I hear you say GUIDRY. That is my maiden name.

Looks like the cabana we had two days ago (#4). It was on a Wednesday, so we only paid $100 for it. We had one on the other side the previous Monday that was $150. Due to the construction/renovations going on right now, the cabana/towel booth was moved over by the snack bar. This was NOT cool. Normally, the Cabana/towel booth acts like gatekeeper to the area even though people who don’t have a cabana can still get to the lockers. With a toddler, the Cabanas over by the adult hot tub have the bonus of being near the restrooms. The cabanas alongside the wave pool have the advantage of being away from most people and can really act as a home base and sanctuary while there.

My husband won’t get on the sky liner! Granted they didn’t have it when our kids were younger so he might of!

Never wanted a jogger until now. Not active per se I’m not allowed to run because of my back but I need something that my tall toddler can use and I’m tired of buying strollers . Worried about only forward facing as my toddler is super glued to me . Do you think this is still best option or can you recommend another ? Also which hook strap is that ? Do you have a link for the rain cover by chance ?

This was super helpful! I love the theming at AOA but the price gives me such pause. I'm still torn but I agree with you - we are at Disney for the parks! Have you done a split stay with your kiddos?

My husband enjoyed it but I was a little disappointed. He said chicken & potstickers were his favs & I agree with you that the potstickers are dry & need a dipping sauce or some type of drizzle on top. The noodles are so hyped & I was disappointed. Shrimp was BLAND. Salad, bread & butter & dessert are definitely in my opinion stars of the show.

Yes it is! Our lodge they are in a better area. We also didn’t have to fight with anyone for the elevator because we didn’t need the elevator. Plus they are a fun experience for the kids! My husband won’t go unless we get a wolf den suite. We did a regular room twice and he was not a fan.
