Nice crisp video, thanks 🙏
I have this bike , 14500 miles a minter , believe it or not I’m replicating panels and tank in welded tig aluminium, your bike is beautiful , that era of r1 is the only bike that I’ve ever felt as one with while riding , it’s my second one . I needed information on the bike and hence the message , ride safe 👌👍😎

@@coldogno7 hi, the video was not very detailed, sorry about that, in one of the replies here someone did take the motor apart with a detailed explanation.. I should have videoed the procedure, my bad, Yes have a look at the replies and you will see the procedure.. Cheers
Hello Sir. Firtsly, I would like to thank you for your video as it is really instructional. Secondly, I would like to share my point of view regarding your statement on the fact that you do not think the carbs should be adjusted such that all water level is the same in each bottle. I think you should have all water level to the same height. Reason being: As we all know we have a base carburetor which serves as reference. Let's say carb no.1 is the base carb. The goal, as you said, is to ensure that all butterfly valves open/close at the same time to allow equal amount of air into each carb. Hence when adjusting the carbs, ideally you would adjust carb no.2 first (adjustment screw between carb 1 and 2) such that the water level in bottle 2 matches with that of bottle 1.This indicates that the butterfly valves have been adjusted to allow an equal amount of air in carb 1 and 2. Next you would want to adjust carbs 3 and 4 (adjustment screw between carbs 3 & 4) to have the same water level jn bottles 3 & 4. Right now even though the water level of bottle 1 & 2 is higher or lower than the level of water in bottles 3 & 4, it is not an issue, as long as 3 & 4 are synced. The last step is to match the water level of bottles 1 & 2 with the water level of bottles 3 & 4 by adjusting the screw between carbs 2 and 3. Another point to note is to always have a look on the idle RPM and adjust it accordingly. That said, if you hook a manometer to these carburetors which have just been synchronised, you would have all needles pointing in one direction meaning the sync is successful. Thus, the goal is to have the level of water in each bottle to the same height, but in order to achieve this, you must follow the steps as above. I would even say that the homemade synchronisation tool with the bottles, is more accurate and easier to use than those sync tools with pressure gauges. Cheers Sir and thank you again for your video.
My fuel cock didn’t come with the tiny gaskets for the screws. Where can I find? I don’t think mine are reusable
Hi, I didn't use the small black rubber washers, I didn't need them, cheers
These do work better in an above ground pool or a non-concrete pool. I have an above ground pool and the unit I bought is amazing and has already paid for itself with not having to buy chlorine. I wish they had these 20 years ago.
I want to share what happened to me in case anyone can find it useful. I repaired my meter with 1kOhm thermistor months ago thanks to this video of Myturkishlife and all is well, but now, on days of high ambient heat, the light comes on if I drive at low speed and turns off when I pick up speed. Obviously with the tank with enough fuel. I will try to install a higher resistance thermistor.
@@jordi500 hi thankyou for the comment, I have to admit I recently had the same experience, yes in normal temperature around 20 - 25 degrees there is no issue but yes over this is does appear too fool the sensor, I will look into this and see what can be done.. Thanks again 👍
@@myturkishlife1777 I'm going to the electronic supply store right now. I don't know whether to take 1.5kOhms resistors and try.
I'm going to the electronic supply store right now. I don't know whether to take 1.5kOhms resistors and try.
@@jordi500 yes that's a good idea, maybe another resistor in series may help, I have yet to find the value of the original thermistor. I did at one point think that because I had removed the top of the canister that houses the thermistor maybe this is an issue and the fuel can slop around instead of draining slowly from the small holes. But then yes heat could be the issue.. 👍
I found origin type thermistors and measure 1000 ohms. 🤔🤪 It may be important to seal the top of the capsule 🤷🏻♂️
Nice 👍🏻
What products do you use along with the ionizer?
@@vabeachjuggalo3 Hi, my pool is a saltwater system so of course I use salt , the copper Ioniser and to keep my Ph down I occasionally have to use pH reducer (acid).. Cheers 👍
Hi there - thanks for the video. I ended up replacing the switch with a newer one.. it is a bit longer than the original so the low fuel warning will come on sooner. BTW when the bike is running are your front indicators always on?
Hi, thanks for the comment, no my indicators are not always on, I changed them over for some "running" type indicators that have a DRL on the front indicators and a red on the rears ... In another video I changed the stock fuel tap with one that has a reserve option too, only because I was caught out before when the low fuel light didn't work and I ran out of fuel and had no reserve , so having this reserve tap is a "back up" worth doing I reckon and very easy .. Cheers 👍
Could you please tell me what resistance will be on the empty tank and on the full one?
Hi, I can't remember testing for this, I did test the resistance but it was open, hence why it didn't work.. To be honest if it is your sensor I would just buy some and change it over, it's pretty simple, or even connect the new sensor on some wire and dip in acetone to see if it works on your bike.. Cheers 👍
yamaha fuel level sensor resistance
Nice job, if your fuel sensor fails the light will be flashing on the dash. So you will not be completely surprised.
Hi, yes that's what I thought, when I bought the bike and turned the ignition on the fuel light csme on and went off, i thought this was a system check, but then i ran out of fuel and it was a faulty sensor (another video) not detecting the low fuel, so hence why fitting the tap with reserve👍.. Cheers 👍
I'm watching it Because I'm going to marmes turkey in the summer
Hi MyTurkishLife, thanks for the video. Is this to cancel the reserve lamp forever? or light does it work when low on fuel with normality?
Hi, yes the system still works as it should 👍
@@myturkishlife1777 Yes. Then I noticed that it takes about 30 seconds to turn on the light. Thermistor stuff. Thank you so much.

Hello guy in the video from 4 years ago, I have the exact same E-Motor from a WOLF Garden mower (well, I took it off someone's hands for free to try and repair it). So it simply just seized up without jamming the blade in tall grass or so? Interesting. I will try to get it repaired with a new ball bearing. Actually both main bearings on the belt system seem to turn pretty sluggish. But good to know it's doable.
30 bob to make.
Instead of a switch, get a couple of male and female spade connectors. Simple to change polarity.
You must be crazy I know someone who tripped backwards and pulled the lawnmower over his foot loosing all his toes
Where does the black 2 pin connector go to, had to replace my wiring harness and it is the only one not plugged in I’m not sure where it goes
Hi, I'm not sure which connector you mean, have you traced it on the wiring diagram... The only ones in the under tank area seem to be for fuel level light, fuel pump and throttle sensor.. If I get a chance I will have a look at the bike tomorrow.. Cheers 👍

What a smart idea, under the passenger seat there is some kind of seal. Probably all components are water resistant of some degree.
What about the silver thats supposed to go around it? Would it be more effective with that?
Hi, yes silver is a good anti bacterial metal, but it is more expensive, only one of the electrodes is giving off copper and degrading, I think this is why on commercial products you see copper and a silver (stainless steel) electrode, the stainless doesn't degrade only the copper, what I do now to even things up is every day I change the polarity so both electrodes are used up equally.. 👍
@My Turkish Life I appreciate you man. Thanks for the reply. Have a wonderful day!

Very nice video, do you have a link where you bought the thermistor and power rating 0,25W?
Hi, thanks for the reply, I think I bought them online from RS components, they are quite a common part as far as I know.. Regards
Absolutely Genius my friend!!!!
I think there is a reason electrical components are not grounded through the alumium frame. But for this small current I think Its a nice and quick solution.

What would recommend if the box slots are too big?

I did something similar to my 1996 Honda Fireblade, one day taking of the seat i noticed there was quite a gap between the rear rear fairing and the seat wich allowed water to drip on the CDI, Stator, regulator connections, fuses etc. didn't sit right with and i mounted a rubber strip on the edge of the fairing with that goes under the seat to block water from coming in. Your solution is even better! These old bikes are great but i really think we can protect them even better from time with these kinds off "upgrades". Nice bike BTW i am looking to buy another bike and 2000-2001 R1 is on the list, of potential candidates.

Was the pulley pressed on or screwed on? What did they do to remove it?
Hi, it is unscrewed, there is a good explanation in the comments below👍
Hi Sir, based on the fact that there are no stupid questions.... For what do you use a Carb balancer anyway ?? for a car or so? 🤓
Hi, of course there are no stupid questions.. In my case it is for a motorcycle, my engine has four carburetors and it is important that each carburettor opens at the same time when opening the throttle. Each tube is placed between the carburettor and engine inlet and adjusted so each vacuum measurement is the same.. Cheers..
