That curry looked like what you find in a porta potty after a music festival. Nasty.
Ew why is it still in the Styrofoam
I love natto. I will eat it as is without toppings. However, if I'm feeling fancy I will serve it over rice with an egg and green onions.
Raw egg! That’s popular in Japan but I need to find raw eatable eggs here! I did find a great natto version of this though - short coming soon!
I prefer monja to okonomiyaki! 😋
Ooohhh my kind of friend! I like both but definitely get monja every time I can!
Don’t like shorts. Ugh
Short grain? Or short pants?
Where I live the best we got is Uncle Ben’s 🤦🏻♀️
Now I’m curious, where?
I bought it today just to test it. Like bro, it's 71% rapeseed oil and just 15% egg yolk.
Looks delicious ❤Happy new years
Happy new year!!
Amen to water first thing in the morning! 💦 The best part of waking up! 🎶
The best part?? 😆
The weight is only for carry on bags right???
There is a max for check in also but yes the carry on sum amount is for carry on only
I rather pay for food and other items at my destination so decided to give this airline a try for my next Japan trip! Thanks for the review.
When do you go? Be sure to let me know what you think after!
Someone please help me confirm. Package A Value: I get 2 carry on free & 1 free check in baggage I ask so I can bring an empty suit case from home for souvenirs.
I am a vigorous get it done washer. I bought a Japanese rice washing bowl that cuts down on time spent washing. Rice must be washed and well at that. 😊
A specific rice washing bowl huh??
Heck, yes!
Any particular one that resonates with you?
i am very grateful for your video, i suffered with this rice problem for almost 21 years of my life, i am so tempted to start cooking japanese food and the essential thing i was the most confused with, so you are a life saver! thanks and big love ♥
I appreciate your reminder to get return train tickets ahead of time. Thanks for your video ❤
Glad it was helpful! Are you going soon?
I've always been fascinated by this daily exercise! This video will help us stay active and start the new year of on the right foot. We started TaiChi last year and really enjoy it. We're still walking. Happy New Year!
Tai chi! Are you doing it together? Accountability and fun together!
@ yes indeed! Via zoom every a Thursday am!
Looks like a workout! With a splash of danger! But delicious results, I’m sure
With a splash of danger 😆 love it. Very delicious and worth the danger! Though I didn’t take off the hot steamy rice or turn for very long…
💛...i really miss going to gramma's place...
I can’t believe this was the first time in Japan for Oshogatsu for me! Glad my kids got the chance sooner
@@thisjalife ...memories to surely treasure...
Thank you for all your videos. We are flying ZIPFULLFLAT Los Angeles to Narita in a week. How can we tell if and how many pieces of checked luggage are included in the price?
Thanks for being here! Did you buy any extra stuff? There isn’t anything extra included with the seat…
Blessings in abundance for you and those you love for 2025! I love the positivity and joy you share with all of us. Happy New Year to all of my fellow-subscribers; I love reading all of your questions and the sharing of your thoughts. Be blessed! Sandy Green Houston, TX
Awww thank you so much! Happy new year to you as well! Thanks for being here 💕
Stacking is a house rule.... But it is actually made up by players, plus Mattel did not "change" the rule, it was restating the rule, that house rule was never existed but us players, thought we can make it even more fun by adding a "Stacking" house rule (you can still play the stacking house rule).
Apparently I never read the rules myself as a kid and just rolled it forward 😆
My resolution is to eat 1 bite of it per meal
How many bites/meals will it be? Maybe you’ll start liking it more or get used to it after a few times? Or the opposite… 😬
Thanks!
You are the kindest!!
Great job Amy!! No shaming! The most important thing is that we celebrate the New Year and gather as Family and Friends. You're amazing doing with your crew! Yoi otoshi wo!!
Thanks! I wish our extended family was closer but definitely enjoying with our immediate family! Yoi otoshi wo!
Your kids are adorable....
Thank you ❤I think so too but hubs tells me I’m biased 😂
Really impressed that you go through this much work (also that you do it for your kids). We used to do Osechi with family as a potluck party, but now we buy our osechi ryori from a local shop, The Enchanted Oven in a Denver suburb. They do a great job, and though it's an expense, it's also what a lot of people do in Japan. We do buy a bunch of ingredients to make our own Ozoni though (Kansai-style), and I'm even going to make Zenzai anko soup with mochi from scratch with azuki beans in the Instant Pot. I grew up woth Oshiruko, or zenzai, because that's what my mom from Hokkaido made every New Year's, so I didn't have Ozoni until as an adult. Wish me luck! We're also buying sashimi to go with out Osechi order from Pacific Mercantile, the venerable Japanese supermarket in Denver's Sakura Square, our one-block "Tiny Tokyo." Thanks for making this fun and informative video! Yoi otoshi wo!
I love the sound of a potluck party! I wish we had family close by. Usually my mom has done the majority of the work but I felt it was important to pass it on to the kids if they were willing to help - which they were! We do have mochi and beans on hand so maybe I should make oshiruko too!! Good luck with your cooking/get together and you otoshi wo!!
Same with us Gil. As we become more diverse so does our Oshogatsu. I think coming together is the most important thing. This year we will zoom with Family that cannot attend. We will zoom with our Families in Japan too! Yoi otoshi wo!
@@thisjalife akemashite omedetou gozaimasu!
You had me at “stress-free”
😂 it was still quite a bit of work but the kids made it worth it!!
💛...tradition...also, it's always nice to involve helpers...
They’re my fav helpers!!
My 1st pack is right in front of me. The person who said it tastes like how paint smells is right
😆 my fam won’t go near it!!
I just picked up Nishiki at my local asian mart, this was recommended besides jasmine rice, along with sticky or sweet rice. I am looking for great quality every day rice, fluffy and tasty. So experiment i shall
The Haiga Mai is my favorite for anytime but it’s a pretty penny
@@thisjalife i will look for it
💛...
Is it getting made at your house?
@@thisjalife ...unfortunately, no...also, unfortunately, our favorite japanese market is taking this time off for vacation (well-earned)/holidays...also, unfortunately, my honey is (too) hakujin to enjoy authentic holiday foods (she does like the americanized versions)...so, unfortunately, not this year...
Whole foods got great insulated bags too…unfortunately they raised the prices on them.
Yes they’re so useful!!
🔔✨🎶It’s the most overwhelming time of the year!
I knowwwww we had 2 birthdays too!
Not worth it at all 👎
Was there anything you specifically disliked? Or just didn’t think it was worth extra money?
Flew them 2 days ago they are a good airline
Glad you had a good experience!!!
40年以上やってなかったですが、ターンダンダダン♪の音楽で自動的に身体が動いてました😂 第2は学校でもほとんどやらなかったです。
すぐに思い出しますよねー!
I only have long grain white because that’s what’s in my store, then I keep jasmine because I think it tastes the best, and basmati for when I need a different flavor. I have made onigiri with long grain, the trick is don’t wash it. That’s the only way it even has a chance to stick.
Interesting thanks for the tip! No short or medium grain at your store huh?
How sweet does amazake taste?
It is pretty sweet if you drink it straight and concentrated but many water it down a bit for drinking cold or warm!
been trying to do it on and off... will try to be more on....; is there a similar one for night time to wind down?
That’s interesting, I’m going to look now!!
That is Mattel 's rule. I know that we usualy do that but the rules are given to "Uno show em No mercy". And dont call Mattel DUMB!!!!
💛...i could give it a try for 30 days (less sundays)...i'm a chair sitter...
Yesss!! Would love to hear how you feel after 30 days!
Good luck Mr. Takahashi! I'm guessing there are many like us that will start this daily routine. Happy New Year!
BTW, in regards to being runnier, we think it looks like "ge-ge," or vomit, which is why most gaijin foreigners probably wouldn't be attracted to Monja. We've been to Tsukishima's Monja Street, with a couple dozen Monja restaurants on several blocks. It was so cool.... but mostly Japanese diners. You've described it perfectly.
It is definitely unique but so worth the experience in my opinion!! And yours 💕
Love Monjayaki, and Okonomiyaki. I love that Monja isn't as well-known to non-Japanese as Okonomikyaki but it's fun to make and eat and taste pretty similar, depending on the choice of ingredients. I've eaten Monja in Tsukishima and elsewhere in Tokyo, and urge everyone to try it. It's the Kanto region's version of Kansai Okonomiyaki!
Yesss thanks for adding on! It’s a different experience and I love it!
Are there electrical outlets in the ZipAir planes? Also, 7 kg seems very low, do you recommend paying extra for additional weight? I am going with my girlfriend and I was thinking maybe only one of us pay for additional weight in case either of us overpack our carry on, we can throw it into the other carry on and vice versa
We got an extra for a kid as well because we were nervous ours would be over! Yes there were outlets on our seats - when are you going? Exciting!!!
@@thisjalife We are going to Japan in two weeks! Yes, probably best to purchase one additional weight allowance just to avoid any problem! and great that there are electrical outlets 👌
So good… I have just tried red bean pastries in the past 2 years. Definitely worth it.
Yesssss so many sweet bean options!!
Thank you we are planning for March 17 any idea what that time period is like? Weather crowds thanks
Definitely check out this video if you haven’t already th-cam.com/video/f9qj7BM4698/w-d-xo.html - spring is one of my favs but it could be uncertain if the rain has passed and is getting warmer or not!! The crowds can get more because of concentrated spring breaks also. If you get early cherry blossoms you’re in luck! Or go to where they are 💕 which parts are you planning for?
@@thisjalife thank you so much I will check it out! Osaka, Kyoto and maybe Tokyo on the bullet train March 17-27
Thanks for asking I am considering visiting the same time with my son. Specially to catch the cherry blossoms. I’ll check your video on spring travel!
@@anujamodi5416 nice hope you have a wonderful time great experience
Great video!!!
Thanks!!
This was a fantastic video. I've been trying to find the right rice for Onigiri but I have Mochi rice instead of any of the other shorter grain variants. I hear Mochi isn't the best for Onigiri. I'll have to watch your Onigiri video, glad you have that!
Thank you! It’s definitely not the worst but if I’m using mochi rice I usually mix it with short grain!
Way better than Jasmine, basmati or other long grain rice!
@@thisjalife Wow! Thanks for your quick replies. Really appreciate it!
Absolutely!
@@thisjalife Just as an update for you; I picked up some calrose, made your onigiri for the family. Huuuge hit. Will be doing again shortly! I can't believe I haven't had it before
