      Ok what don’t I know? What did I say wrong? Do you actually have anything constructive to say? I love when people comment like this with nothing helpful. No, I’m not a pro, or a tire engineer, and I make this very clear, especially in maintenance how-to videos, but I’m doing my best to present the experiences I’ve had in order to help people out. I haven’t said anything in this video that is untrue or that I haven’t experienced.

    Hey Josh, off topic but what do you know of the x740? How do they line up against the 750s? And am i demanding too much from my machine if I’m intending on mowing 5 acres with it ?

    • @JoshsGreenGarage
      @JoshsGreenGarage 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Arguably the 74Xs are better than the 55Xs, due to a little more weight and ability to add the factory Deere loader. Deere doesn’t suggest the X7s on their “which mower are you” thing until you click 5+ acres. So no, it will be happy as a dog in a field filled with squirrels or something!

      Yeah the machine purges any repairing air out of the lines and front axle. No need to worry about the rear either. Once you run it for a little bit and do some full lock to lock turn, check it and add a little if needed.

    John Deere does not supply a 2 inch receiver hitch because that would encourage people to try and attach items that would overload the tractor. It is not because John Deere was being cheap, they are trying to protect you from yourself.

    • @JoshsGreenGarage
      @JoshsGreenGarage หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get that, but I also disagree that it was a good idea on their part. My beef with it is that you lose a lot of other options of stuff to attach to it. But on for me was a D-ring shackle. There aren’t many that are 1 1/4 shank, and the ones you can find cost just as much or more than a 2” shank. Also cargo carriers. Tow hooks. You name it, it is easier to find 2”. Yes, you shouldn’t put 1000# tongue weight trailer on it, but they shouldn’t severely limit attachment options. ATVs come with 2” receivers, and these tractors can surely handle more than them (my opinion)

  • @OurLittleFarm2023
    @OurLittleFarm2023 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Josh, first off… that 738 is a sweet tractor. I owned an x540 which I loved. But was going to upgrade. I bought the 1025r for all of my tractor needs. I then bought an x394 which is a sweet mower if you only need to mow… that made the x540 obsolete. But I love it, so kept it too… I’m a JD guy… so yes, I have 3! curious, why did you buy the x738 over a compact 1023 or 1025? The price is almost the same on a 1023 with loader…

    • @JoshsGreenGarage
      @JoshsGreenGarage หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well this is a 758, but same tractor just diesel. I went this route because I am military, and having to move with a 1025 or 1023 would make for a lot less room in my enclosed trailer. When you look at the specs of the two, you get more power with the 758 over the 1023, and I think about the same on a 1025, wheel sizes are the same, etc… but I just didn’t want the extra height, heavier weight of everything (found out the hard way during my recent move that the tractor, box blade, ripper, mower deck, all weights, plus all my crap was already too much for my trailer). Biggest reason is simply mowing. The 758 is a lawn Lamborghini, a mowing Maserati, a cutting Cadillac… most people say 1025/1023s aren’t the greatest for mowing. Also the 758 can use an actual 3 point, so you can use legitimate rear implements, and use of a box blade was a plus for me. Lastly it came down to the fact that I just like the garden tractors. Having the biggest lawnmower out there (don’t quote me on that, I know commercial zero turns and some other things are bigger) is pretty cool, I’d rather have that than the smallest compact tractor. I just feel like stepping into tractor tractor would leave me wanting more, at least into the 3 series. In the end it just came down to preference.

    Hey quick question. I am considering buying a new 2023 x739 which will soon be an almost 2 year carry over. I biggest concern is the potential weathering as it has been sitting outside since it has been on the lot although it looks just like the band new one next to it. This is my first garden tractor purchase so I was curious about your thoughts. I am not positive how much cheaper it will be compared to new but that also matters.

    • @JoshsGreenGarage
      @JoshsGreenGarage 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My only concern would be old gas sitting in it, and potentially sun damage to the seat. If anything you could see if they could make sure any fuel is cleaned out of the lines and a new filter added… and then maybe write you a guarantee on the seat for however long? Kinda kills me that they don’t just include seat covers on all these from factory when they know they will be sitting out. Everything else though should be fine.

    I installed a tow hitch on the back of my dethatcher so I can tow the sweeper at the same time. With 3 acres of lawn it cuts my dethatching/sweeping time in half.

    screw all the way out is the same as no valve installed. So, to adjust for the front lift, screw all the way in. Great Job Josh, Thanks for the video.

    I bought a e100 a year ago that had 26 hours for $500. I’m very happy with it and haven’t had any issues. I use it to mow a 1/4 acre lot that’s all. A lot better than using a push mower for sure.

    That tractor could, under good wheeled conditions on hard ground, pull 20,000 lbs. What you have there is about 350 lbs.
