This is just a basic walkthrough of how I set up my clouds in houdini, nothing super fancy, just a rudimentary cumulus cloud that you can throw resolution at, perhaps I'll cover more intricate setups down the line, but this serves as a broad overview of how I set up and shape my clouds.

I'm having trouble @34:16 my oculd seems to be bright white where as yours seems to have some sort of gradient? Any thoughts on how to fix this? Also my subtract constant is not breaking up my shape like yours is?

The first 34 minutes of the video don't even use Blender; then they paste a photo onto a cube. And even that fails. These guys have NO IDEA what they're doing.

Can this be animated? And look realistic i mean.
Now that Blender has added both a Mie and a Rayleigh Scattering node with its most recent 4.3 release, I would really be curious to see how you would modify your node network to use them in place of some of the methods you are using in the advanced section of this tutorial. Out of my wandering curiosity, that is.

Would you be willing to share the .blend file? I keep having weird issues that seem to change very time i start from scratch. I think it might be me using the wrong nodes in 4.1. Anyway love the video, keep being awesome.

Looking forward to the tutorial, though unsure how well Blender from 3 years ago will work with the current. I was bummed to see that the 42K cloud texture was the same one that I spent a few hours cleaning up at 8K resolution. I don't know who the original creator was of that image (some NASA artist?) but it has numerous, obvious Photoshop clone stamp repetitions all over the place. Usually not noticeable until you are zoomed into one of the areas then it's a massive face palm moment.
When I scatter the particles across the surface, the shader only shows up on the top. No matter how I change scale, rotation, or anything. Flares are only visible on top. Why doesn't the shader follow the rotation of the object it's contained in?

Does this work on 4.2? All I have so far is blurry cloud blobs. Very difficult to check if I got something wrong with all the jumping around. Anyone got this working?

Rman collection, has one truche procedural, one node, that is all you need. But..not available in blender, but for free in Lightwave...if you get hold of Dennis Pontonniers procedural textures, he converted the Rman textures for the Lightwave platform. But..Rman collection should be able to be converted to blender, if anyone want´st to do it, should be free to do so.

Another question, if you allow me: the blockbuster standard for terrain creation is houdini or gaea? Because, it seems that houdini have more features.
The blockbuster standard for terrain creation is whatever works best haha At the end of the day, in this stage the final product is a Heightmap/AOVs, so anything that can output that data works. On the productions I've worked on, I've used Houdini and Gaea, Houdini for more specialized tasks, Gaea for quick terrain creation stuff. The trouble with Houdini is that the baseline tools that it comes with do not work on the same level as some of the more refined/specialized software like Gaea. It's a tradeoff, do you need something to work really well out of the box, but at the cost of flexibility? Gaea or any other means of terrain software might work very well. Do you have the time/expertise to work with Houdini to create a system of tools that can do what you want them to? Houdini is undeniably the best solution, with World Machine as a solid second choice. The only tool I'm not sure is used very extensively in production yet is Geogen, but that is largely because it's a very new software, and JangaFX generally caters to game work, so if it's used it will likely be in the field of Gamedev, so I really can't comment on that.
