Uncut Fujinon 16-55mm f2.8 attached to X-T4 on a Ronin SC without counterweights.
มุมมอง 1.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This video shows you how to balance the popular Fujinon 16-55mm f2.8 fitted to an Fujifilm X-T4 on a DJI Ronin SC. All you require is the DJI raiser plate and the SmallRig Counterweight Mounting Plate for DJI Ronin-SC BSS2420 (www.smallrig.com/smallrig-counterweight-mounting-plate-for-dji-ronin-sc-bss2420.html).
DJI Ronin-SC with Fujifilm X-T4 (Updated - No need for DJI focus motor)
มุมมอง 14K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The Ronin-SC firmware (v1.5.0.40) update, now allows pull-focus an remote shutter control for the Fujifilm X-T4. I hope someone finds this useful as it could save them both money and time. Setup starts @ 1:35.
Fujifilm VG-XT4, detailed review.
มุมมอง 26K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The vertical grip for the Fujifilm X-T4 is an essential must have for a photographers, or anyone shooting stationary time lapses. However, it is not useful for videographers using smaller gimbals such as the DJI Ronin S or Ronin SC. As always, is you have any questions or suggestions, please put them in comment section.

However would like a little more information about build quality, lighting capability, size and usage. Covers build quality, Light Demonstration, and Battery Test (3.7V Rechargeable vs 1.5V AA)

    As for the cap for the pins on the battery grip. Well I carry an old 35mm film canister container to put it in to put in my camera bag. Yes I know it sounds stupid, but I have a far better chance of finding it again when I separate out my camera again.

    Just got the XT4 battery grip and the shutter button on the grip does not half press for focus like the normal shutter button on the camera. Is this normal or is my grips shutter defective? I assume this isn’t normal but haven’t been able to find confirmation one way or the other online.

      There is no dedicated battery charger in the box. You can charge the battery in camera using the USB-C cable and mains to USB-C plug, which is in the box. FujiFilm do a dedicated dual battery charger, but you still need to use the mains adapter and USB-C cable that comes with the camera.

      @IsobarBrokenFlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won’t post photographs of people, but I take all kinds of photographs. Sunset, shooting star, landscapes, architectural, motorsports, and product photo mostly. This is where the X-Tran sensor is becomes very useful. It can pick out fine detail, without creating anomalies in repeating patterns. FujiFilms ability to operate at -15 to -10 degrees centigrade also comes in handy. Occasionally I photograph people, but the GFX 100S and X-T4 were not suitable for moving subjects. This might change with the X-H2s, as I just a children sports day, and there were a lot more in focus than with the X-T4.

    I just got a brand new one for my new fuji xt4 install it and none of the buttons work, except the Normal, Economy and Boost switch. The display on camera shows 3 batteries which means is connected but nothing works. Any suggestion?

    • @IsobarBrokenFlame
      @IsobarBrokenFlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Occasionally, the camera doesn’t recognise the grip. Switch off the camera. Disconnect the grip, clean the contacts on the camera, and the reconnect the grip. Then switch the camera back on and try again. If this doesn’t work, you may have a faulty with either the grip or camera. You can try taking it to a camera shop and asking them to try the grip on one of their demo cameras. This will help you to determine if it is an issue with the grip or the camera.

  • @ianroe1076
    @ianroe1076 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the camera work if you have a battery in either or both grip bays, but not in the camera itself? I've heard that leaving the battery out of the camera itself helps with the overheating issue when doing 4k60FPS.

    • @IsobarBrokenFlame
      @IsobarBrokenFlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can place the batteries in a any combination of the available slots. I’ve ran the camera with just a single batter in the grip. You are free to decide how you load the batteries into the grip and/or camera.

    Am I stupid or are you using a counterweight plate when you say in the title there IS NO couterweight ?

    • @IsobarBrokenFlame
      @IsobarBrokenFlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trick here is that you need the counterweight plate but not the counterweights. The counterweight plate allows you to mount the camera further back. You could use the standard DJI plate but you will struggle to get the camera far enough back. A lot of people want to avoid counterweights as they add weight to the gimbal head, and the counterweights restrict the range of motion of the gimbal.

    • @IsobarBrokenFlame
      @IsobarBrokenFlame 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the VidiU X doesn’t use that much power. I’ve actually did a live stream with a small Anker power bank (10,000mAh). I used two elastic bands to hold the power bank on top of the VidiU X and then just a short USB-A to USB-C cable to connect them. While the VidiU X takes USB-C for its power feed, its actually a reasonably lower power device. Any power bank that can deliver 2amps at 5volts will work. So that’s basically any power bank built in the last 8 years that can charge a tablet.

    • @IsobarBrokenFlame
      @IsobarBrokenFlame 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The additional weights make life easier, when you extend the lens or run even heavier lenses. It is typically easier and quicker to balance with a 100g weight attached. The main issue with using the weights is they interfere with the range of motion available on the gimbal. Depending on your style this might not be an issue for you.

    Thanks for you effort, its appreciated as I have that combo Ronin SC & X-T4 with XF16-55, however I find it pointless fitting a zoom lens without a zoom rocker, for that I can use my ancient AK4000 with follow focus as zoom rocker without unbalancing issues (trick is to balance it with zoom extended at maximum, not middle) although zoom on 16-55 is a bit stiffer then 18-55... @@dogwalker456 as an all purpose emergency/backup light I would probably choose the ML. If it was only going to used as a light to relax to, before going to sleep then the ML6 Warm would be preferred. We use the ML6 Warm at night while playing card games, and eating supper. It makes for a cosier atmosphere.

      @@IsobarBrokenFlame Hi Buddy, went for the ML6 Warm in the end & it arrived today. First impressions, just superb in every way, build quality, light quality is excellent. Will be perfect as a backup for our campervan. Very temped to get an ML4 now. Thanks for your help 👏👍

      The video monitor I use is a Atomos Ninja V. I connected the monitor using a Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable, and it is mounted to the Ronin-S using a PolarPro mount: Monitor: www.atomos.com/products/ninja-v Mount: www.polarprofilters.com/products/dji-ronin-s-monitor-mount?variant=21471891161172

      That’s a shame, but I understand. I haven’t made any videos in a while. I’ve been really busy, but that should change soon. Hopefully we both will be able to use our Ronin-S’ again soon.
