Wow Blockbuster renters movies still out there here in Orlando FL absolutely amazing, thanks for sharing.
I have a70CT and a 110CT
A retro computer that uses actual hardware from the early 1990s. I saw this on AliExpress, and I was wondering what this was. Thanks for the informative video.
What's with that weird squat that April is doing on the side art?
Hey Josh, this game takes me back man, congrats man. But do you have the TMNT Cowabunga Collection for the XBox and PS4/PS5? I have it for my PS5 and its even more nostalgic because it has EVERY Turtles game from every game system all on one disk. After seeing this clip, I had to ask. :)
There was a store right up the street from my house that had the machine when I was a kid, it must have been the year 1989 because we moved out of that house the next year in 1990, and this machine it wasn't just like right up the street it was actually on the same road that I lived on it was like just two blocks down the road I can't remember what store it was even I just know it was, it might have been a baseball card shop but I'm not 100% sure. That game was so sweet back then, all of that fun that you could have for just a quarter. No kids download these goddamn app games and then they freaking have to pay like a whole bunch of money just to buy like stuff in the game and then it's not even fun they're just like keep on just buying stuff in the game. Like I need a new hat for my character and I want some shoes to match with it so they pay like $500 of real money. Not like us back in the day when we would just go up the block and put a quarter in machine. That is how I used to judge the value of a game or like how I would get my money's worth. For example you buy NBA jam for the super Nintendo and it cost you $70 bucks but if you play it enough times then you can calculate how many quarters after the arcade you would have popped in and then when you get to $70 you got your money's worth, and then pretty much every game after that you're playing for free. Sorry for the long run but you know that's how it was lonely guys do it we just blab on and on and on.
Effing sweet, man. I'd love to buy one of those Ninja Turtles mini arcade games. I used have a mini Pac-Man arcade game almost exactly the same size.
Cool video Josh, thanks for sharing. My cousin and I went to a vintage arcade in the town I live in here in Florida and had a blast not long ago. We went in just wanting to play the old video games, but ended up playing all the cool pinball machines for 3 hours.....LOL!!!! Watching this video makes me want to go back again.
I wouldn’t say it’s like or close to the original arcade machine it’s to quiet not loud enough I own the original arcade machine before I bought the arcade 1 up and corner arcades version of these numskull were the same I would of bought 10 of them
I actually have this model still laying somewhere, last I checked it was working, only batary is dead. They don't do them as sturdy now
I really enjoyed the “mini calculator” form factor of the Hand386, but in the same chassis as the Book8088 I’d have to agree with LGR in his review where he pretty much suggested the Libretto series of laptops as a viable alternative for nearly the same price point.
This is so cool, I'm checking a few out for myself now due to the sizing and seeing it like this. I love the new things you're bringing to the channel to keep it Retro, keep it up Josh!
what is this mythical "parts store I found online"?
wow, I think I found it. Impact computers?
Yep!!
@@retrotv1tech i just bought 701cs and I first want to clean it up and reset the software to factory. Then I want to attempt a screen swap to upgrade it from a cs to a c
@ nice! Let me know how it goes!! Did you get it on eBay? I saw a couple on there.
@retrotv1tech yes... unfortunately for far more money then I wanted to pay...
I love the aesthetic of retro arcade cabinets.
Lol, no quarters required ( like back in the day)
Very cool machine! I love the attention to detail, much more then I was expecting. I hope this company continus to do other machines.
I love how genuinely happy you were to finally get your hands on the mini arcade game, and for good reason. It’s seriously so cool looking and it’s like you have the fun of the arcade without leaving your room lol 🤗💕 I’ve never really seen the game played before so that was cool to learn alittle about it as the video went on too. Thanks for a great video 🎮😊
This is really cool, have fun playing. I spent 15 years as a technical manager for a Mouse Pizza restaurant, and acquired two game boards and a control panel from the original TMNT game. This was one of my favorite games to play in the store. I started building a full size cabinet for the game, it still isn't finished, some day!
awesome review. I am looking to produce the 386 or 486 on a 22nm-FDSOI foundry for a solar powered laptop.
Doesn’t this come in an Arcade1Up version for like $100 more?
Leonardo was my favorite
I spent a lot of time playing this in the local arcade back in the day. I never understood why they had that bad live-action April on the cabinet instead of just reproducing the animated artwork.
being on the east coast (jersey) the arcade at the monmouth mall, eatontown NJ , it was there, and I do remember trying to play.. and as my memory happens, I did not like it.. but I also remember no one was ever playing.. so it was not popular here in NJ in my time
Steph found a great gift! And, Josh - great job showing it off! 😁
that thing is so cool
I always went with Donatello.
Box looks cool
Amazing system! Great video and I’m glad you enjoyed playing it
Looking forward to this! Love the tmnt arcade game
Wow this is really cool. Before I buy the exact same setup, any chance you could test what battery life is like with the isa expansion and pico gus installed? I'd love to whip this stuff out on my hour long train ride to work and see what the other train passengers think. Btw, OMF 2097 has many graphical settings you can adjust to increase the speed, such as turning off or reducing detail of shadows, background animations, stage hazards, screen shake when your robot hits the ground hard, etc. It actually does make quite a difference in getting the game to a very reasonable speed on a 386 to reduce settings on many of these. There is also a speed setting in the options menu and I would recommend it be turned all the way up!
Very cool! Not sure when the square connector was a thing. I got my Commodore 64 when I was a kid for Christmas in 1982 so they’ve only been out for a few months at that point and my connector was definitely round.
Chinese military standard
Nice idea for an unreasonable price.
He’s holding a TOUCH SCREEN active COMPUTER. Who thought this thing would be fased out so quickly. I couldn’t believe the tech when I got the first iPhone and went from the to the 3GS.
Pretty impressive for something so small.
Great video but i disagree on certain statements. 75mhz pentium is underpowered for games like Blood, Duke Nukem 3D and others of the later era. Talking about the screen 640x480 is not enough for games like Warcraft II or Command and Conquer Red Alert. We should take in consideration that most of the laptops of that era didn't do any scaling when they perform 800x600 or 1024x768 natively. You will just get an smaller screen if you choose 640x480, and they will just give a x2 upscaling for 320x200 Low res modes, getting an smaller image on screen. I consider that a trade off. This is indeed a great laptop for MS-DOS but i would go for a faster model instead. Around 166 or 200MMX. There are several tools to reduce performance. Other interesting series of laptops for MS-DOS gaming are the Compaq Armada, that i have to say, are excepcionally well built and they include quality speakers. Greetings.
how to u get songs on ipod?
That's a great screen for that time. Most of these screens, even the active ones had quite a bit of ghosting making finding the mouse cursor tricky, let alone playing a scrolling pinball game. I worked at Gateway 2000 and distinctly remember the passive matrix screens from that time. They were way worse than even the ugliest TN-screens, no way you could work on them without "mouse trails" (they also cost at least 4 times less for the entire laptop of course). Nowadays VA, IPS and OLED are so much better than what we had back then, and you have a full screen to enjoy.
You could actually use the IR-port for data transfer and I would not be surprised if you could use it as a remote control as well, given the right application. There were some PDA's etc. that used IR for data transfer and it is also the way that the first LEGO Mindstorm products worked for both uploading applications and control.
This is awesome. i want to play my old cd rom games. i have to check at my moms house if they required a 486. I remember having a 486dx2 at one point. I'm curious, once in Windows 3.1 or whatever if a USB plugged in mouse and hard drive would work or not. I'm kind of tempted to order this and just see what happens. i wish I had kept my old computers. So sad.
Does imessage work?

Great video
I love iphone 3g & iphone 3 gs
I scored TWO of these back in 2016 (still have them both) when some guy was selling a bunch of them on ebay for like $10 or $15 each. Once those were sold out, they immediately became super rare. The other super cool, kind of similar thing I picked up around the same time was a PowerAmpMite controller - it plugs into the purple PS/2 keyboard port and acts as a keyboard, but is a gamepad, and its buttons can be mapped to any keys...also a neat way to add a gaming controller to an old laptop. These are also very rare but do occasionally show up on ebay and usually go for cheap when they do.
5 1/4 " floppy! Not seen anyone use those for a long time 😂
Thought it was funny it said multiple times to find wild fruit and he skipped it.
These phones are still fun to have. There are still some great games that you can't get on newer phones. Spider-Man the first one from Gameloft great game and Terminator Salvation from Gameloft was also a lot of fun. Those games are like Sony PSP games. But not everything is about coins to play and ads in video games.
I skipped the original iPhone, but bought the 3G the very day it came out. How ahead of all the others it was back then, and after that the 4G with its retina display. Simply stunning.
I got a used 3GS I bought in 2012, still works fine, but I don't know what to do with it. I got the home button to work by pouring in a few drops of cleaning alcohol into it. That also repaired the mute button, that was full of gunk.
what a machine, not sure why you didnt test Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament on this given that Geforce 2 was the first Graphics Card to really shine with those games. Geforce 2 was huge back in the day, probably the first time i got really excited about Graphics Cards, i mean Nvidia RIVA TNT2 was ok but it wasnt until Geforce 2 that things really got interesting.
