This is our first time tasting blood orange. All those time holding off on buying from grocery store is for this day! Also, the biggest surprise is actually how the Valentine Pummelo tasted. This special hybrid pummelo is made in the 1950s, and is a cross between Siamese Sweet pummelo, Ruby blood orange and Dancy mandarin. I just start my mixed color angelonias in my garden. We only have 2 seasons, hot and rainy, so I hope they'll grow nicely in our home ❤❤ thank u!
I've got a very large red mulberry tree in my backyard overlooking my own garden. The tree is about 40 feet (roughly) tall and very large. The kids and I harvest as many as we can by placing a tarp underneath a branch and shake the branch vigorously. The ripe mulberries fall onto the tarp. Very tasty berry. I'm in Keller, TX.
Called Kabu in West Japan. Another root crop grown and eaten in Chinese cuisine is sengkuang (jicama).
Acutally this doesn't look like fire blight. Fire blight has black stem first with oozy liquid. Please check to void misleading
Need to grow more than one or the others varieties next to each others for pollination more fruit barry
Hey! I know this vid is 2 years old but do you have any updates on this tree? I loved this one. This video was also very helpful. Im currently dealing with fireblight 😢. Has it spread to any other of your plants? Wishing you the best. ❤
I think I have this in my yard. It just showed up and it's everywhere
I'm a fan of white mulberries. The smaller varieties that are sweet and nutty tasting .
That was a very entertaining taste test. Lol. I enjoyed it , even though I wasn't tasting the paw paws.
Thank you for sharing.
I just got some angelonias and put them south facing in direct full sun. I'm in Texas too and I am starting to learn the hard way that full sun is not full sun here. Your angelonias are so pretty! I am struggling with mine :(
I have the same problem with my 3 year old Hosui pear tree. The tree doesn't have many branches, so I keep cutting off the infected branches. Pretty soon, I will have no branches on the tree. I will have to remove the tree, so it doesn't infect an apple tree right next to it. It's a shame that the nursery who grafted this tree still sells those trees knowing that they are very susceptible to this fire blight. I bought it from a local nursery who got it from the bigger nursery Dave Wilson in southern CA. Some other pear varieties are not susceptible to fire blight. I will buy other varieties next season.
Try Korean Giant, much more resistance!
@@CHITheThirstyGardener ّI am limited on what they sell here in southern CA. We have Shinko asian pear that are resistant to fire blight. I will buy one next season hopefully that it will be a good tree.
Wild paw paw in Virginia taste varied a lot but nothing expected if you have eaten a few cultivars. From watery to almost firm but not as firm as Susquehanna. They are varied from bland (maybe underripe when picked) to very sweet. The smell is anywhere from horrid (closer to stink bug but not that bad) to Sweetsop or Mango. I found that the bitter is in all paw paw around the seed and skin. That is also varied a lot with wild paw paw. The best one is just as good as the Mango and Susquehanna. However, it's smaller and with more seed.
i hardly have any success with soil or sand, but most of my cuttings take, in perlite prop box
How cold has the arctic frost endured? Is it more cold Hardy than the Owari?
I only let my trees exposed to about 26-28F lowest. Arctic Frost looked untouched compared to Owari
I wished I researched into this earlier but I guess I’ll have to make a big cut to my tree today. I’m in Texas, zone 9A.
such a simple awesome solution and idea!!!

Yeah though unfortunately, the fruits don’t taste good. Good as rootstock 😀
I have 2 pawpaw trees, they are getting a windshield protection this year. Wonder how long it takes for them to fruit .?
My 4 yrs old grafted trees already flowered last year
@@CHITheThirstyGardener grafted pawpaw flowers faster. What about the che?
@@user-vk5ws3jl1l My grafted Che is already setting fruit. I don't know how old it was when I bought it... probably 2 yrs old?
How fast do the jujube trees grow in England and how long till they bear fruit..?
I see you posted this video about a year ago. How are your paw paw trees doing now?
They are still alive and small. This year I will add irrigation to them so they can grow faster
@@CHITheThirstyGardener I planted three of them this past week. I hope they’ll thrive!
@@rosemarypope.author good luck!
Amazing! Do they come back every year or do you do anything special for winter?
I cover it with a 2ft high of mulch!
Love your style...subscribed
I definitely want an Arctic Frost, but if I get one it'll have to stay in a pot for a while.
Hello! My name is Roman, I am from Ukraine. I live in Lviv. I also love plants and in particular azimin. I planted a garden with 65 azimina trees. Bought 10 varieties in Italy. And the rest he himself grew from a bone. They are already 3-4 years old. I want to inoculate with American good varieties. I am interested in Geri Lehman's varieties. Can you help me with this? I want to buy either grafted seedlings or cuttings for grafting.
I don't know anyone who does ship international. You can try PawPaw FB groups
Oh man! I enjoy my cilantro in my salad, soup, stir fried veggies, and sauce dips. Yum!
I love cilantro it's a great detoxifier I'm going to try the patch method love this.
Do you preserve your cilantro, if so ,how?. Thanks for sharing
No I don't, I prefer mind fresh. However I have stored a few other vegetables before by blanching the veggies in boiling water for less than a minute, quickly remove the veggies while they are still green and submerge in ice cold water. I drain them then store in the freezer.
Did it work?
Hello Chi, I live in Wenatchee Washington Here we have a very short like 195 days growing season. If you can include Early or Late ripe, JUJUBE and PAWPAW or other fruit plant variety that would be wonderful. Here in Wenatchee Washington. I Only can grow Early Ripping type of fruit tree. I have Black Sea, Autumn Beauty, Sugarcane, Honey Jar, GA 866, Coco, Empress Gee, Confetti JuJube all this Ripen ok. But( Tiger tooth Jujube) never ripe on time so I get rid of it . for PAWPAW I Have Pennsylvania Golden, NC-1, Taylor that I have fruit. Mango Pawpaw and Susquehannas don't have fruit yet may be this year 2024. Thank for your video about England's Orchard & Nursery, I order Pawpaw Scion wood from them, Green River, Lehman, 2-10, Tropical treat. They sold out Al Horn white ,this one I wanted the most. I don't know is all this Pawpaw are early or late variety. Do you know? They have a lot of variety JUJUBE but I don't know with are the early ripen one. Thank you , Love watching your video.
Did you use root hormone?
i like your saw.
Some pawpaw like Wabash oxidize brown fast. Nyomi's, Tallahatchie & Shenadoah oxidize very slow. They need to be picked very ripe & let sit off the tree for a lot longer than most others. You eat Tallahatchie green!
The (Tallahatchie) obviously wasn't ripe, as not supposed to be firm & is usually 27% sugar. Green River Belle & Horn are around 21% sugar. Need to let fruits get ripe before picking.
They look delicious 😋
it's a keeper!!
yep yep :)
You have the female one, the male has the leaves that shape like maple, more pointed and if themale plant shows up dont eat it, only the female's leaves edible...
than you !
Is there any way the guy that Olen’s the farm can sell me a green river and white?
He sells the scions but if you want the cultivar then you might have to graft them yourself
Thank you for the information! I might just have to do that. It’s hard to get a tree that bears that fruit. I have a cluster of paw paw trees, so I don’t mind attempting to graft onto them
Do you have an update?
Where can I get an Al horn white paw paw, and green river belle?! I’ve been looking online, they’re not really for sale, some sights promote it, but they’re always out of stock if the sight says it has it :(
They are pretty big! Hope you get plenty more next year to try.
yes I will have more to try, will keep everyone posted
Thanks for sharing, will you be selling seeds from your cultivars?
nah, you don't want to start seeds from any of the jujube cultivars. They won't be true to type. Buy a tree and graft different cultivars into it
@@CHITheThirstyGardener ok thanks, enjoy the Holidays. Many blessings.
Thanks for sharing, really interested in all the different cultivars of exotic fruits. Beautiful and intelligent young men ! Beautiful family. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I'll try to post more often, happy gardening!
Love your videos on the Paw Paw! Especially from your perspective of someone who has had cherimoya, sweetsop, and some of the other Anonas. I like hearing you note those similarities and differences. From a long time cherimoya and atemoya grower i I have decided to plant some paw paws next year in my garden 😁
I have three trees growing, just planted four more. Some are KSU cultivars, others are from good fruit I found wild.
