Starting as a 1st generation farmer, and starting literialy from the ground up. Watch as we build and restore neglected land plus an old dairy farm into a working hay business, Air B&B and our finial goal.... a working Bison ranch. Follow us on our journey through this transformation, trying to make it in a world where Agriculture is becoming a disappearing occupation not carried out amongst most younger generations.
John Deere MX6 Bush Hog Review while Clearing Bison pasture
So I figured while clearing this land for future Bison pasture, would be a good opportunity to show and review my favorite 3 point attachment ... the John Deere MX6 Bush Hog! They come in different sizes and would be a great addition to your equipment to any land owner!

Looks like this will be my only chance to get into the corn field and plough before the rainy forecast for the next 2 weeks. We are using a 3 bottom oliver plow hooked up to the 4066R.

These little guys eat eat eat tree leaves, eventually eating so many leaves the tree cannot survive and dies. There is probably a professional way to exterminate these little critters but I like the hand to hand combat.

Kinda neat
Now that’s 😎 😂
We bought a rake and used the rubber teeth to replace several of the ones that were broken or missing. They did a good job but did not last like the spring ones so we ended up going back to the spring ones. Like the video, subscribed to follow along with you. Keep up the good work.
Trump Lost
Awesome video and great way to save money in the long run!
My Dad and I ran a custom hay baling operation back in the 60's and 70's, He bought a new New Holland 256 rake, basically the same as you have, and it came with the rubber mounted teeth. The rubber ones were designed for those farmers who raised all alfalfa hay and they did a great job raking it up. We eventually changed all of ours out to the spring tooth ones after the rubber ones cracked and broke off. The spring tooth ones are much better to rake heavy thick hay than the rubber ones. One tip you might consider, after making the first round and then turn around to rake the second side together, you need to turn the completed windrow completely over on the second pass. Your baler will leave the hay that is laying under the windrow if you don't turn it completely over. The reason I know that is because I have raked a lot of hay, we ran every day it wasn't raining.
the spring teeth are much better and cost less. I have a rake that had all rubber teeth on it and right after I got it 1 fell off and was sticking in the field so I stopped and picked it up and checked the others. I found 11 more bad teeth and pulled them off. then put all new spring teeth on after that. also the rubber teeth hold dust between the hanger and the bar and make the bar rust and break. I have fixed a lot of them for other farmers that were rusted and broke on a bolt hole because of the rubber teeth. they are the best rake made
Yeah I agree i do like the spring teeth much better! I had a customer that found one of the rubber ones in a square bale lol!
So who took it? The wind? A huge flock of birds? A bear? 😂😂😂😂😂
Looks like it was on a roll :)
How? Those things are heavy.
😩hope god blessed you with a pretty face cause he sure shorted you on brains
Guess I was on a good enough angle it tried to get away!
stop swinging that camera so fast
Sorry workin on my camera skills! This youtube stuff is a job in itself!
Nice TRUMP 2024🎉
Sweet disc mower, the impeller conditioner helps dry faster than the rollers
Yeah was thinkin about gettin one to help with dry down time!
Yes I have a disc mower conditioner with impeller. It takes more horsepower than a roller machine, but it saves sometimes a whole day’s curing, which sometimes because of the weather can mean the difference between a good quality hay crop, or a poor quality crop. Also rollers are of little help in 2nd or 3rd cutting of grass hay. The impeller bruises the blades of grass breaking down the wax coating which gives a much shorter curing time than with using rollers.
You have some shit hanging inside of your tractor... You might want to wipe that up
So are you saying Biden is better?
Stay pressed 😂
Cheers to a prosperous year!
Trump tariffs really helped 2016-2020...
My bank account was a lot better with Trump!
Hope those wheel bearings were greased 😂
Farmer LOL
Plowing 3 inches deep lol pitiful that a 66 hp tractor won't do better
.... and you were just singing the praises of your tiller now it's leaking 🤨
I honestly dont know what happened there but the thing still works like a champ!
Nice tractor. How does it do in steep terrain? I have a 3046r with loaded tires but no cab right now. Love it, but wish I had something bigger and with a cab to compliment it for snow removal and days when I want to sit in the AC. The 4066r has been on my wish list, but then a skid steer with tracks is another potential route to go. My property is mostly wooded and has a decent slope to it. Thanks!
I do have very steep slopes on my property and can get up and down there no problem, especially in the A range. I pull a 630 moco Discbine up and down and she gets the job done! I do try to avoid side sloping because it’s sketchy as hell !
I was lucky back in February we had nice weather and I got my IH 454 out with my one bottom 16 inch Ferguson plow out and did my gardens and I am glade I did the weather is on and off rain and sun since
Ya got to take advantage of the weather while ya can! I still can’t get back in there yet to disc it up !!
It's to muddy to be plowing and the deeper you plow ground the better it better it is
Way too muddy for plowing.
Agreed but we have rain everyday in the forecast and it takes a week of sun to dry!!
I bottom plow just as deep as I can get it usually about 12 to 16 inches deep. It's better to plow it deeper for a good seed bed.
Working with the cornell soil extensions they recommend a 6-8” seed bed for corn
@Schafferfarms yeah it looked like you were barely rolling over any dirt. But hey what ever works for you I guess. I run mine just as Dame deep as I can get it. But I also run alot bigger tractor than you. Good luck.
12 to 16 inches is to deep
@staceygay6400 no it's not. My disc run 24 inch cutter disc so it works well for preparing seed beds for corn, beans, and peanuts.
Finally a fella’ that’s honest.
At least your ground was covered for the winter so that's something 😊 Time to update that Air Freshener 👍
Love the Trump air freshener
😂
Now I know why corn is so expensive 😂That sucks😢

Yeah that's WATER not time that these things are frozen in.
So what happened
Snow must have melted and froze overnight!? Honestly barn dont usually flood out like that …. So just how my luck goes lol
I feel so Damn Bad! 😢😢😢 This is heartbreaking
Love the 4650 content. We got two out here at the farm next to me. Absolute work horses
