Pigeons and Ladders (better than snakes)
Todays project is to take this large pigeon hole cupboard which has been left outside for quite a while and covered in dirt, and turn it into a beautiful display cupboard and maybe our shop counter for serving customers.
If you haven't seen our previous video, we are working on a big project to open our first Aussie Gardener retail store on our home property in Dural (North West Sydney)

    I have small size cuttings from a friend I received 3 weeks ago. I have them in a cup of water. There are no roots yet and they are still green. Will they take root if I use a root hormone and potting soil?

    • @aussiegardenerstore
      @aussiegardenerstore 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For sage, better to grow in potting mix rather than just water. The rooting hormone helps to encourage root growth. Brian :-)

    Is that drill bit compatible with electric impact wrench? So that will reduce injury risk and also gain more drilling torque.

    I need one of these. I live in central Arizona, the ground is so hard trying to dig with. shovel I have actually bent the shovel blade and it takes absolutely forever to get anywhere digging. when its 115 degrees out that amount of effort is too much. it took me two days to dig a hole big enough to plant a small tree last summer.

    I'm so looking forward to watching your videos guys. I am really comfy with flowers and cottage perennials but definitely still learning on that front too. I've dappled in growing veggies but with real knowledge. I'm truly impressed you're educating people how to do this in an environmentally friendly manner. Thank you. I'm definitely not using pesticides here on my micro flower farm or veggie patch that will provide for 6 adults. So exciting! Bx

    • @aussiegardenerstore
      @aussiegardenerstore 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look for an 18v with 13mm chuck and torque of 70Nm and above. It is highlighy recommended to use a cordless drill with a side handle as this makes it easier to control. The drill we use in all the videos which has proved excellent is the Dewalt 996 www.aussiegardener.com.au/996 Been digging with that one for 7 years and it hasnt missed a beat. Brian :-)

    How many seasons before the clips/netting disintegrate in the sun/weather? We can't even get tarps to last one summer in WA.

    • @aussiegardenerstore
      @aussiegardenerstore 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. The fibreglass mesh used should give you 3-5 years, and the clips should be similar. We have improved the plastic clips to have UV stabiliser so they last well in the sun. They are easy to replace when needed. Brian :-)

    Awesome video, now I know what I was doing wrong with my Potatoes. Question: I planted seedlings I grew from slices of tomatoes, they went really good and I had a really great crop of plants, but they grew so high and then they started dying off. What am I doing wrong? and this is with every tomatoes I grow. Please help?

    • @aussiegardenerstore
      @aussiegardenerstore 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Linda most tomato plants do grow quite tall. About 1.8m Dying off could be due to hot winds/drying out. Veggies need frequent watering as they are growing fast and often have high water content. Brian :-)

    Really enjoyed the video. Thank you. What are your thoughts about using mushroom compost?

    • @brianchapman6591
      @brianchapman6591 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Ray, Mushroom compost is good but it has added lime as part of their process which makes the pH quite alkaline. A high pH above 7 leads to plants not able to draw up nutrients. So it may be ok to add some mushroom compost but I wouldn't use it by itself. Another solution is to add that mushroom compost to your compost bin and let it break down some more before using it in your beds or geofelt planters. Brian :-)

      @brianchapman6591 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Patricia The smaller models 207,307,312 have a 10mm hex end. The 324h has thicker 13mm hex end so needs the larger chuck opening. Any power planters that have a h at the end of their name have the 13mm end. Brian :-)

    • @brianchapman6591

      You could do so if you have had disease issues. But otherwise you would just reuse the soil and plant again or plant another vegetable as an in between crop. Brian :-)

    Thank you for simplifying this system. My issue is with the timer. We have water restrictions and can only water three times a week. Do you have a timer that can set days of the week rather than 24 hrs etc. If we were able to water on alternate days, we could set this to 48hrs but unfortunately my days are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, currently between the hours of 6pm and 8am.

    • @aussiegardenerstore
