      @coreywilkspsyd 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, man! Yeah, it's definitely harder with a 9-5. Main thing is setting up healthy boundaries so you leave work at work instead of bringing it home. Home should be a refuge, not an extension of all the stress of the office 🤘

    • @mattegan3439
      @mattegan3439 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@coreywilkspsyd 100% agree. That's why I turn my work phone off, and try to leave my laptop at the office. Otherwise work never ends. So many don't and wonder why they can't ever turn off.

    Massively awesome series. Thank you so much for making it. I definitely fall into the trap of wanting all the answers before starting out. Not taking a ‘just in time learning’ approach. I think the fear of success, ‘could life really look like what I want it to?’ is a primary fear. Especially hard to move out of when life is actually pretty good without going the discomfort of growth. Thank you again for all your videos

    • @coreywilkspsyd
      @coreywilkspsyd 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad it resonated, man! Agreed it's hard to leave your comfort zone when things are going well. Learning to give ourselves permission to believe we can have a bigger impact is a powerful skill. It takes time to practice, but once we do, we can see just how much more potential we have to pursue 🤘

    Hey Corey, Australian Provisional Psychologist here and military member of 10 years (Mil Psych at current). Really love your approach and insights. How would one generate a dialogue with you about a potential joint venture. Aka I validate some things with you prior to starting a project and you could get a % of the revenue if (when ;) ) it takes off. Noted you do executive coaching so unsure what your apetite is for a quick pitch meeting/zoom discussion. I'll pursue this regardless of your response/silence but would love someone with your skill set to brainstorm with. Warm regards, H.

    Long have I been building a theory on my own from my own expeirences, and I am relieved to find out that I was right. I started using a notebook that I always have with me that contains all my thoughts, concerns and, like you worded very well, my needle movers. Ever since I started using this 'second brain' I've been feeling more order and rest troughout my day. Combine this with a healthy schedule of sleep and rest and boom, I never felt better in a while. This because once you have a rythm and you have sorted your thoughts and concerns, theres space to think and grow! Very interesting and well explained Corey!

    "Your blessing in life is when you find the torture you're comfortable with." - This gave me chills. Also, your formulation of "What can you not not do?" is helping me in the following way: in the past few days I've found that I can't not create TH-cam videos. There does seem to be an obsession there. And as a person with OCD, I'm often wary of my obsessions. But what if, in select cases, obsessions are my superpower? hmm, I like this metaphor. And maybe certain compulsions are my Kryptonite. Wow, I'm honestly amazed at how far this comment went. I think there's a video or two in these words.

    Love this video Corey, it's so good! Super helpful as I navigate life post burnout and want to make sure I don't end up back there again! Need to focus on recalibrating, as it's easy to fall back on old patterns. The full disconnection is something I tend to struggle with and it's a great reminder that I don't owe anyone anything. I often feel obligated to reply to everything and it can get draining, even though I enjoy it :) Thank you!

    This was golden! For me it's hard to think about things that energize me because I feel like everything is draining. Hanging out with friends, taking a walk outside - they all leave me feeling refreshed, sure, and I feel how good it is to do these things. But they also require loads of energy to do instead of recharging my battery. So I was thinking.. Maybe I could frame it like this: All these things that are fun, meaningful and refreshing, they might require energy but they also make sure that when I plug in my battery for charging at night, I have the slow charging option selected instead of rapid charge. Doing these things like taking walks and hanging out with friends make sure that when I'm alone and recharging, the charge actually lasts. Being in the middle of burn out actually felt like only having the rapid charge option on... I could have a full battery in the morning but it could be completely drained by the time I have my morning tea.

    The needle mover list is such a good idea! I started creating a version of it but weekly. Basically, the 3 most high-leverage things I need to do in my business to move revenue forward. The other stuff: I delegate to my VA or table for another time.

    Lots of clarity here - thank you! We are in the process of moving our ideas from a hobby to a business. It has it's challenges but you are helping us to take steps in the right direction.
