I just recently bought an 06 f150 with a 5.4 the guy i bought it from said he ran 15w 40 am i cooked

I have a couple of questions? 1, can you put Rust oleum on the new part to minimize the rust, and can you return the old bearings for money or be recycled? Thanks for helping explain things as I'm trying to make my 04 f150 4.6 better than OEM. Have 80k on it. Can you do a video on noise/sound insulation on the cab? I have issues hearing people outside it and turning the sound up just to hear my AM/FM/cell. Thank you again

Well guys I’ve always ran motorcraft 5w20 and filter its whole life with one tune up. I’ve had this truck pretty much its whole life. 2004 with 212k miles still running strong.

Easiest way to do this is on plug at a time until u get the the back then take ur ECU off and do that hard one it makes easier. Anti sieze the threads on all plugs for next time like a noce person. And dont forfet to keep ur cylinders clean.

I changed my plugs no problem people just dont know wat doing im not expert. U have to put the anti sieze on if ur shop didnt and u chamged and had this problem get a new shop bro

Hey I have a 2016 sportsman 570 epi. What if your oem belt number doesn’t match the options on the website ? Should I just go with the closest oem number ?

FRAME ROT ! Is the first thing I look for on these. Being a boxed frame they’ll rot out the bottom and the inside of the frame rails. I live in the rust belt so this is a huge issue with the trucks around here.

I just bought a 2007 F-150 triton 5.4 off road 4x4 only thing needed was a pulley that exploded on me and witch tore my belt to shreds. Not to mention all that stringy belt decided to wrap itself around the harmonic balancer . The belt was a bitch but the pulley and new 60$ belt I bought the best . Now it runs better than it did when I got it … I purchased the truck 2 and a half weeks ago… also needs a rack and pinion. But it drives great and looks good

Bought my 07 F150 4x4 w/ 5.4 in 2013 and 67k miles, now has 185k in 2024. Had to do cam phasers , timing chain, hv oil pump at 150k and I have always maintained meticulously but I work this truck hard,, truck still runs and looks GREAT ! I have only ran 5w/20 full synthetic and Mastercraft oil filters exclusively but will now switch to 5w/30 and see how she does, every now and than she gets a tank full of E85. I love my truck !

Thanks i have seen a few of your videos over the last few years working on my 04 as well .i got the same airbags the other day or very close the Torque parts TR2350 from amazon . i was surprised the model number wasn't on the title or description .i was searching through TH-cam with the part number to find a quick link to these bags had to scroll a bit to find because i was searching with part number .i guess they have a few different styles of bags out there. But might get you more tags slap that model number somewhere in the description something to think about. video was great once i recognized they was the same and was a great help by the way thanks for sharing your f150 adventures with us. Hope to see more in the future.

I bought a 2005 F150 2WD 5.4 auto about a year ago for $2,800. It has 282k miles on it. New transmission, timing chain assembly and rear/front main seal. The truck is solid. No rust. Runs and drives great. Doesn't leak or burn a drop of fluid or oil. The bed is big enough to haul everything I need, and the extended cab is nice. I can haul 6 people in the truck. For the price, I couldn't have gotten a nicer truck.

Hey…have a f 150, 2007 with 283,000 mi. Has a 3 valve triton V8. No noise and looks great. Believe oil is the key. Every 5k miles. Love the drive.

You are so lucky that didn't break off on the spark plug and bend a valve. That's incredible.

I think you should have spacers above the airbags since your truck has blocks in the rear.

97-03 f150 4 low selection is the same. Truck has to be in neutral.

Triton have small oil gallies so I'd be skeptical heavier oil is a good idea.

It is doable in an SUV or truck but I do not recommend it if in a car.

Switching to 5w/30 full syn quiets the engine but upgrading to a Melling hi-volume oil pump will get oil to those far cylinders. Might as well upgrade those ticking timebomb timing components while you’re at it. I’ve got a 2010 F150 FX4 with 210k/mi and just did a 5-star tune and it runs better than new. Throttle response and low-mid torque are greatly improved and the best part is a custom tune allows you to utilize all 6 gears on the 6R80. That is HUGE. Getting 17-20mpg with 34" Wildpeak AT4's @ 70mph.
