    Man i dont get it. Why dont you just pitch a tent? What is the added benefit of attaching it to the bike? Seems like a gimmick with very little point.

    • @wingmanoftheroad
      @wingmanoftheroad หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Chris, where do I start! 1. There are loads of benefits of canvas apposed to plastic nylon tents. Eg. Breathability, comfort, durability, blocking out light. Basically you don’t have that clammy feeling feel like you’ve woken up in a plastic bag. (See our why canvas section on the website) 2. Convenience and setup/pack down time. Having a mattress and sleeping bag included in the roll means you can ride until you get tired and roll our system out and sleep anywhere in a few minutes. 3. Why attach it to the bike. You don’t have to. Our system doesn’t need the bike at all. However, if you do attach the awning to the bike you gain a “porch” area. You can put your gear in there and it opens the space up a bit bit completely optional. Hope this clears the benefits up a bit 👍

      Wow what an adventure that must have been. Hope you and the bike are back in one piece with stories and scratches. It does sound like a wingman would be a good choice for you. The rolled up dimensions of both models are on the website. The outside tarpcover that you roll the system in, completely protects what’s inside from all the road and the weather can throw at it! It is made from a tough black canvas with a PU coating. It’s waterproof, dust proof and wipe clean. Hope this answers your questions and yes we have a pack up video. Just go into our channel it’s under “packing up your goose”

    Hi. Can I ask, when it's been raining and it needs to be rolled up when wet, do you find the bedding to be damp at the next pitch or is it still dry? I worry that the damp will be transferred to the bedding when enrolled up together. Thanks.

    • @wingmanoftheroad
      @wingmanoftheroad 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Mark, I good question that we get pretty frequently actually. With 7 years of customers and ourselves camping with these systems we’ve never had a problem with this. The bedding stays dry. The way the system is designed ensures that the inside of the system doesnt get wet when packing up. As long as you make sure you zip up the doors and the windows there wont be an opportunity for the bedding to get wet.

    Hey mate they are the same as our swags down here in Australia.You need to season it by putting it in a bath tub full of water and let the tent soak overnight this helps the waterproofing but you must do it when the next day is hot so that the canvas completely dries out and the thread they use will swell and fill any holes left by the sewing machine cheers Tony

      ;) Yeah held fine 👍tent pegs are ok in sand just got to go deep. The good thing about this system, even if you can’t peg it out you don’t need to. No bike, no pegs, no problem. The tent will hold its own structure due to the weight of the canvas and the mattress inside.

    Has anyone experienced broken telescope aluminium arch pipes yet? I have. The 2 telescope aluminium arch pipes don't hold up for long. In my case both pipes broke already after only some days usage. These pipes need to be more pre-curved - there is just too much tension when installed. PS: Replaced the pipes with DIY 6mm fiberglass poles, 8 mm aluminium joints and some hot glue.

Looking at getting the 40L Kriega bag too but I think this ill be too big to fit inside, I was thinking of putting it on top of the Kriega and using their straps to attach is. Just hope it isn't too tall!

    That’s not only small but super heavy at 10kg Why not just get a a decent 2 man backpacking tent. Lighter (>2.5kg) larger, cheaper and easier to set up. Or a one man trekking pole tent at < 1kg and packs down to the size of a 1ltr water bottle. Don’t get the idea at all sorry. So it slashing down where you going cook in comfort you can’t sit up in it. What do you if you want invite the mrs etc. why use canvas when there so many lighter materials options. Did I see fibreglass poles! It must be like having a pillion on the back of the bike, mind you doesn’t look like you take the triumph too far off the road. Well done for the idea but why re-invent the wheel.

    • @wingmanoftheroad
      @wingmanoftheroad ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrew, If you want a light weight backpacking tent this isn’t the system for you. There are many great options if weight is your primary focus it’s best to stick to a synthetic plastic tent. As we designed this for motorcycle travel not backpacking we can get away with more weight, we chose to use the best material for the job not the lightest. There are so many benefits with canvas compared to plastics. One massive reason is comfort and the fact that it breathes, you can have a single layer of canvas that’s waterproof and also eliminates any condensation. Unlike plastic tents when you need an inner and an outer tent and all the inner tent does is keep you away from the wet and condensation on the inside of the outer tent. Canvas is also massively robust. Fantastic in high winds. The list goes on. More info on why we chose canvas can be found on our website under “why canvas” We don’t make just a tent. It’s and all in one camping solution with sleeping bag and mattress included. Made to “roll out and roll in” easily in the dark after a long ride. We don’t claim to be everybody’s cup of tea, but customers who are actually using our design and products out on the road get it and like it. We appreciate that. www.trustpilot.com/review/www.wingmanoftheroad.com Thanks for your comment Andrew. I hope I explained a little bit about why we do what we do.

    How sturdy will it be in windy conditions if NOT pegged?

    • @wingmanoftheroad
      @wingmanoftheroad ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I have never heard of one blowing away. However, if your leaving it at a campsite you would preferably peg it down or alternatively weigh it down with a jacket inside or something heavy and lock it up. It does have quite a bit of weight to it already being canvas and having mattress and sleeping bag inside but to be sure I would do this. If your sleeping in the tent it will be sturdy in the heavy wind even if not pegged. Hope this answers your question 👍
